Work Text:
Caitlyn was on her bed, tapping her pencil on her sketchbook. She has been meaning to finish a poster for her project— something about oil and water of how they don’t mix.
She had been researching for hours, trying to find some actual good things about it. Caitlyn threw her pencil along her sketchbook, as she groaned and fell on her back. She ran her hands over her face, tired.
The time was 12:03am. Normally, she would be asleep by now, but of course— this was a last minute kind of project.
This would so ruin her sleep schedule.
Then, a thought came to the girls mind. Hesitantly, she unlocked her phone, as she began typing.
?Cait: Hello, Violet. Are you awake
She waited for a moment, till she seen the 3 dots.
Vi: Of course. The city needs me, cupcake.
Caitlyn chuckled at her phone, rolling her eyes. Her and Vi had only been friends for only a few months throughout their sixth year of high school, even though they were at the same school for almost four years.
Caitlyn would never admit it out loud, but she wished she met the other sooner.
Vi was many things, all that Caitlyn loved about her. She loved the way Vi would scrunch her nose when she’s focused, how a strand of her pink hair would fall over one eye, how she would always protect Cait when most of the time, she doesn’t even need it.
Vi was everything to Caitlyn. She’s probably the only real friend she has right now— except from Jayce, even though the man is way older.
.Cait: You’re so annoying
Vi: You love it ;)
Vi was right. Caitlyn did love it. Maybe a bit too much.
Cait: Soooo can you come over?
Vi: It’s 12am, blueberry. Your parents would NOT want me coming over.
Cait: Sneak in. Climb up the fence to my window
Vi: Geez, Miss Kiramman rebelling for once? Never thought I’d see the day.
Cait: forget it.
Vi: NO IM SORRY ILL COME OVER
Cait: And enough with calling me blueberry. You already call me cupcake.
Seeing the ‘read’ writing under Caitlyn’s message, she knew she would for sure be getting called blueberry till the day she dies.
Almost forty minutes has passed, and Caitlyn is ready to text Vi about where she is. She sucked in her bottom lip anxiously, until a light knock came from her window.
“Hey, cupcake,” Vi said with a smirk. She was completely drenched, her pink hair flattened by the rain that Caitlyn didn’t even notice outside.
Caitlyn put a hand on Vi’s shoulder, as her expression dropped. “I didn’t realise it was raining. I’m so sorry,” She mumbled, looking down to her feet till she saw that she was still holding onto Vi’s hand.
Vi shrugged and chuckled. “It’s fine, don’t worry. You wanted me to come over so I did.”
Caitlyn met up with Vi’s gaze. She looked beautiful like this. Her pretty, grey—blue eyes, that is like a blackhole and could suck her right.
The blue-haired girl didn’t even realise she was turning red till Vi pointed it out.
“You’re turning red, cupcake.” Vi said, pointing at her face. “Maybe I should just start calling you tomato.”
“Oh god, please no.” Caitlyn laughed, as she finally removed her hand from Vi’s, the warmth instantly leaving.
Vi looked down at her hand, suddenly looking a bit sad. She shook her head, and looked at Caitlyn. “Why’d you want me to come over?”
“I need a distraction,” Caitlyn responded before adding a quiet, “and help.”
Caitlyn kept her gaze at Vi, admiring the way her face went in a smirk. “You know I don’t swing that way, cupcake.” Caitlyn knew she was turning red again. With Vi noticing, she decided to take it further. “But I guess I can make an exception for you, gorgeous” She added on, taking a step closer with a wink.
Caitlyn stumbled over her own words, as Vi chuckled sweetly. “You—“ Caitlyn covered her face, trying to cover her embarrassment “You know I didn’t mean it like that!”
“I know. I just like annoying you.” Vi said smugly, as she crossed her arms.
“So polite.” Caitlyn spat out, as she walked over to her bed, leaving a space for Vi.
Vi stood there awkwardly, as she tucked in her lips. With Caitlyn raising an eyebrow, she spoke. “You can sit down, Violet.”
“I don’t wanna get your bed dirty and wet.” Vi mumbled, putting her hands to her sides, as she walked closer.
Caitlyn smiled, taking Vi’s hand and pushing her onto the bed. “I’d rather you make my bed dirty and wet than you sitting on my floor or not sitting at all.”
Vi nodded as she started to take her shoes off, then her jacket, revealing her massive fucking arms.
Vi works out. Like, a lot. She used to be quite skinny, and now— fuck. Caitlyn probably won’t even be able to work as she’ll just be looking at the others arms.
Caitlyn looked down at her hands that rested on her knees as she mumbled, “Want me to get you a towel?” She asked, gesturing to the bathroom.
“If that’s not a problem, then yeah.” Vi said in the softest voice that could send Caitlyn onto her knees or something.
Caitlyn shook her head, throwing out whatever thoughts she had in her mind. She made her way to her bathroom, as she spoke. “I wouldn’t be offering if it was a problem, Violet. It’s fine.” Caitlyn responded from the other room. “Your a guest.”
“One that your parents don’t know about,” Vi chuckled, as Caitlyn came over with a towel.
Caitlyn, without a thought, folded the towel and put it around the back of Vi’s neck. Vi looked up at the woman, who was standing between right between her legs.
Caitlyn was first to realise they have been looking at each other for too long. So, Caitlyn ruffled Vi’s hair, and began to walk away before she felt a grip around her wrist.
Caitlyn looked behind her, to see Vi looking like she was maybe admiring the other.
Caitlyn shifted herself to Vi, raising an eyebrow.
“Cait,” Vi mumbles, her voice low and smooth. She looked at Caitlyn’s eyes, then her lips, then back to her eyes before Caitlyn realised what was about to finally happen. Something she has been waiting to happen.
“Violet,” Caitlyn was now bending down to the shorter woman, slowly as Vi spoke.
“This is a terrible idea,”
“Terrible.” Caitlyn responded with a smile, as she closed the gap between them.
The kiss was messy at first, as they tried to find a rhythm they could both work with. Caitlyn slightly tilted her head, then sliding her hands onto Vi’s hips, trying to lay Vi onto the bed.
Vi followed, as she began to lie down, her hands clenched onto Caitlyn’s hair.
As Caitlyn went on top of the other, she ran her other hand on Vi’s back, bring her closer, deepening the kiss.
After awhile they both pulled away, taking a breath. “You could think of an excuse why you didn’t finish the project, right?” Vi asked, panting between her words.
Caitlyn glanced over to her unfinished project, one of the reasons why Vi was here in the first place. Scoffing, she took her hand from Vi’s back and then took the project, throwing it onto her table, as she turned her gaze back at Vi.
“Of course I can. I have plenty.” Caitlyn replied, as Vi gave a quiet, “good” while she pulled Caitlyn in for another kiss.
Before they knew it, Caitlyn’s door swung open, as a lady with a rifle pointed it at them.
Not only it was a lady, it was Cassandra fucking Kiramman. Caitlyn’s mum.
Caitlyn pulled herself away from Vi, unable to move, completely shocked.
“Caitlyn!” Cassandra shouted, lowering her rifle. “What on earth—“ The older woman looked over to who was under her daughter. “Who on earth are you!?”
Caitlyn swiftly rolled off her bed, and stood in front of her mother. “That is Vi— she goes to my school.” She responded, obvious panic in her voice. “You’ve met her at the gates once.”
“And you girls were making out at 1am!?” Cassandra raised her voice even more as Tobias, Caitlyn’s father, laid a hand on Cassandra’s shoulder, giving her a ‘calm down’ kind of look.
Cassandra looked over at Tobias, and dropped the rifle to the ground as she took the mans hand.
“I’m sorry, mother— she was just going to come over for some studying because I got stuck on my project, then things got a little heated and—“
“You didn’t even finish your project!?”
Caitlyn sighed, as she turned to Vi, who fixed her hair and walked over by Caitlyn’s side.
Cassandra’s gaze turned to Vi, in a less angry way. “Violet, I’m sorry, dear, but it’s best you go home.” Cassandra says as she gave a light smile. “Me and Caitlyn need to have a discussion.”
Vi nodded in understanding, as she leaned over to Caitlyn’s ear. “This is not done yet, cupcake.” She whispered, as she pulled away with a smirk, noticing the blush on Caitlyn’s cheeks. She then turned to Cassandra and Tobias, putting her hands behind her back. “I’m very sorry for this, Mrs and Mr Kiramman. I’ll make sure it never happens again.” Caitlyn could tell Vi was being sarcastic with the tone, but thankfully her parents were oblivious to it.
Cassandra nodded, as she turned to Tobias then to Vi. “We accept your apology. And when you’re leaving, may you please use the door?”
Vi chuckled as she nodded, then giving a wave goodbye to Caitlyn.
Cassandra angrily turned to her daughter, and Caitlyn knew she was done for.
After all, it was so worth it.
