Betrayal...
Lies...
Scott was furious and a bit concerned at the same time. His fledglings lied to him...
They were about to betray him...
Pyro... Scott thought this one was the most loyal out of all young bats. Guess he was wrong...
"Scott?"
He gave him a chance to fix his mistakes. He asked him a question that he knew the answer on. But Pyro choose to lie right in his eyes.
"Scott? You here?"
He decided to lie to his Sire. He decided to work with humans behind his back. His fledgling betrayed him when he thought he wasn't there...
Hand laid on Scott's shoulder. He already knew who that was. There's only one vampire who would dare to touch him like that.
"What do you want Owen?" He didn't look back at the other vampire. His voice was dangerously calm.
"Are you okay? I called you two times and you didn't answer"
"I'm fine." Scott walked away to the beacon.
It was red. But there's a smell of humans in the air. They were here not long ago. They dared to walk right into his home and touch his beacon in the blood moon night...
How annoying...
"Scott-"
"WHAT?!" Scott shouted turning to Owen. His eyes were glowing dark red from anger.
Owen looked at him in shock. He stepped away from elder vampire.
"Damn... You look really... pissed..." Normally Scott would immediately switch to his normal cold self but he wasn't in the mood for that. Owen sounded conserned. "I got something to tell you but i guess it would only make your day worse..."
"What is it?" Scott wanted to go murder all of the humans and all the vampires who were not on his side...
Should he trust Owen? Owen wasn't one of his fledglings. He has no connection with him. No control over him. They relationships so far were depending on Owen's respect to him because Scott was older. Nothing else really...
"It's about Pyro. I think he's trying to play on both sides now..."
"I know. I heard him at the town gates."
Owen widened his eyes.
"I didn't see you there..."
"I was invisible right behind Pyro's back" Scott scoffed. "Both Shelby and Pyro want the cure... I knew about it from the start but i trusted them anyway..." Scott's impression shifted to his usual cold and unreadable. "My mistake i guess"
Owen shivered at the sudden the mood change.
"Shelby doesn't want the cure. She just wants peace between humans and vampires. She loves her new eternal life even if she doesn't want to hurt anybody"
Scott looked back at Owen. "She tried to lie to me about turning Avid."
"Come on. You talking like you haven't lie. You're the biggest liar I've ever met!" Owen rolled his eyes but then widened them and gulped as Scott pulled him by his chin. He forgot that elder vampire was not in the mood right now.
"Lying to humans is one thing. But fledgling lying to their Sire is unacceptable" His face showed no emotion but his eyes were full of anger and blood thirst.
"I think we walked in at the wrong time..."
Scott looked at the entrance. Pyro and Shelby were both standing nervously behind Apo. Well Shelby did.
Wait... Apo? What is she doing here?
"They kicked me out... They found out about me and kicked me out..."
Owen start laughing now free from Scott's grip but still next to him. Pyro joined Owen on that but Shelby was still nervously glancing at Scott.
"So you decided to join the coven?" Scott looked at Apo unimpressed. She was obviously a mole. Humans knew about Cleo and she was still with them.
"Yes. I'm in." Apo looked down. Scott rolled his eyes. She isn't here to join them and he knows it.
"Whatever. Go make yourself a room. Those two can show you"

Scott was drinking his bloody wine while listening to Owen venting out to him about his fledglings. Seems like Pyro thought that he could disrespect other older vampires just because they weren't his Sire.
Such a naive little bat.
"Scott... Can i talk to you...?" Apo appeared next to the beacon. She probably just teleported into the castle from somewhere else.
"Sure. Owen will listen too if you don't mind"
Apo nodded and looked around quickly.
"I'm not a mole as you may think... I promise you"
Scott raised an eyebrow while sipping his wine. Owen crossed his arms and rolled his eyes but didn't say anything.
"I know you both don't trust me but townfolks don't trust me either..." Scott waited for her to finish. He has a lot of time. He did actually liked this one. Apo didn't tried to lie to him so far. She was very straightforward about hating him.
"What actually happened? Owen was there for a bit but I'm guessing there's more"
Apo let out a sharp breath.
"I was gonna come out to Martyn but he start freaking out and then run to tell everyone immediately. If it's not for Legs they would probably just take me out with a stake..."
"And this guy wondering why his father left him?"
"Owen let her talk" Scott hid his smile at Owen rolling his eyes while sipping on his glass of wine.
Apo looked really conflicted.
"They send me here to be a mole but i don't think i can trust them after that... I was fighting on their side. I was protecting them. And all i got was violence and fear...? They met Cleo with just a bit of surprise but calmly! That's not fair..." Tears start running from Apo's eyes and Scott put the glass of wine on the table.
He looked at Apo more serious now. "You have to pick one side Apo"
Apo sighed and wiped off her tears.
"The only people who know about Avid are vampires. He hasn't told humans about himself when the whole coming out was going on. Doc pretending to be a vampire. He doesn't know about Avid either"
Owen widened his eyes. Scott grinned.
"I'm glad you decided to join us Apo"
Apo bowed down slightly but Scott only put his clawed hand in her hair gently petting her gently.
She flinched away slightly looking at Scott with shock.
"I won't hurt you if you won't betray me. That's easy right?"
Apo nodded and walked down to the crypt.

Apo very quickly became his favorite fledgling. With Pyro's betrayal and Shelby's love to humans Apo was basically the only fledgling he could trust right now.
Humans lost their greatest protector. They hoped that Cleo would protect them but they clearly forgot that she was just a farmer. Pearl seems to be pretty chill and even if she is a monster hunter she's just a human.
Maybe she could fight Pyro or Shelby but not Scott and not Owen as well.
Scott felt jealousy from Pyro again. Fledgling was annoyed about Apo pushing him from the "favorite" pedestal. Maybe he should've thought first before betraying his Sire. He think that deconcentrating a few beacons would gain Scott's trust back so easily? And then disrespecting Owen? This boy should learn some lessons.
Apo was quietly sleeping next to Scott in his nest. Owen was out in the woods looking for food for her to get to the level 3.
Shelby was trying to fix her mistakes and Pyro was still a big question.
Scott was exited to see where this goes. With the whole town still thinking that Apo was loyal to them after the whole coming out disaster. The same Apo that right now were sleeping on Scott's laps in his nest.
He could feel one of the vampires walking towards his castle from the town. That will be interesting...
