Work Text:
Today was shitty. Really shitty. Bendy’s blot started acting up in public, so of course he and Boris had to rush into an alleyway to take care of it. There were weird looks of course, but most people knew the grim truth of what was going on. More and more minor inconveniences happened throughout the day, and if one more thing went wrong, he was going to drink a whole bottle of DIP. He just wanted to drown his problems away with alcohol for the night, which was how he got to the Ink & Paint. It just so happened that his boyfriend worked there as well.
It was crowded, as it usually was on Saturday nights. He walked to the counter and sat down on one of the stools.
“Hey there Bendy! Here to see Cup, I’m guessing?” Betty greeted him as he sat down. “Where’s your brother? It’s unusual to not see him around you.”
A long sigh left his lips. “Yeah, Cup and to drink all my problems away. Today was rough…” He grumbled. “And Boris knows I’m here. It took a lot of convincing for him to let me go alone, but I managed to do it.” “Overprotective as usual…” He added quietly to himself.
Betty gave a kind smile. “Ah, I see. Well, I’m sorry to hear it was a hard day. Want me to go get Cuphead? He’s a little busy right now, but I’m sure he wouldn’t mind seeing you.” She asked. Bendy just nodded and mumbled something in response.
After just a few seconds, Cuphead appeared and rushed over to his boyfriend. “BENDYYY!! Thank GOD you’re here! I thought I was going to die if I worked another second!” He whined dramatically before resting his elbows on the counter and examining Bendy’s expression. “Uh oh, what happened?” He questioned, cocking his head slightly to the side.
“Where do I start… Just get me a few drinks and I’ll tell you everything.” Bendy groaned.
Cuphead obeyed, obviously, and he filled up a glass with one of the stronger drinks on the shelf. Bendy would definitely need it… He came back and set the glass down on the counter. “Don’t worry, it’s on me. Go ahead and let whatever’s bothering you out.” Cuphead smiled.
Bendy’s rant went on for a while, and it got harder to talk as he drank more and more glasses and got more and more drunk. It was honestly amusing to Cuphead, but he had to act interested or he’d get sent back to work. I mean, he did feel sympathy for Bendy, but seeing him yap and get all emotional about dumb stuff (excluding the Blot thing) like this was certainly a sight.
“And then *hic* I was all likee ‘Noooo wayyyy I’mma *hic* grown man! And I can like take care of myself n’ stuff!’ And Boris *hic* finally listened! Sooooo crazy, right Cuppy?” He slurred as he took another sip. Cuphead just smiled and nodded. “Yeahhh, I know I’m drunk…” Bendy added with a giggle.
“I can see that.” Cuphead replied as his lips turned up into a smirk. He was honestly a bit tipsy himself, which definitely wasn't a great thing since he was one of the bartenders, but Mugman was covering his shift anyways, so it didn't matter too much. As long as he was having fun.
Bendy slammed the glass down on the counter. "My life is so harddd!!!! I just wanna *hic* get drunk and pass out!!" He whined. “Your friggin stupidly pretty face makes me feel all better thoughh~” He tried to flirt, but his slurred words made him sound silly.
Cuphead might as well humor him. “Is that right? I make you feel better?” He teased. He took a long swig of his drink to get in the mood. He was always a better flirter when he was drunk.
Bendy giggled and nodded. “Mmhhhmmmm~ You make me feel sooo mmuch better, Cuppy…” He purred. He had this piss drunk look on his face Cuphead took the glass away from him. "Alright you, that's enough alcohol for tonight. How about I take you home?" He offered. Was he also a little drunk? Maybe even too drunk to drive? Yes. Did he care? Nope. He’ll just have to let Mugman know he’s leaving for a bit with the car.
"Cuphead!" Speak of the devil. "Why are you slacking off again?? You're supposed to be helping me!” Mugman said through gritted teeth. “And you’re drunk? Seriously? Bendy being here isn’t an excuse to slack off.” He crossed his arms.
Cuphead just smirked and wrapped his arm around Mugman’s shoulders. “Come onnn Mugs, I’m just trying to relax a little. That reminds me, I have a tiny itty bitty favor to ask you. Could you maybe-“ “Cover for you mid-work again?” “Yeah, that’s it. Pretty pleaseeeee?????” Cuphead begged with puppy eyes. “Besides, I have to drive Bendy home because Boris isn’t with him.” He reasoned. “I’ll bring the car back so you don’t have to walk again, don’t worryyy~”
“Are you even able to drive? You’re drunk too.” Mugman asked, his eyebrows turning down in concern.
“S-*hic*ure he iss, righht pretty Cup?” Bendy slurred as he tried to stand up from his seat. Cuphead nodded with a smirk and looked at his brother. “See? Even he thinks I’m sober enough."
Mugman sighed and thought for a moment. "Fine, but promise me you'll be safe." He said before handing him the car keys and going back to making drinks. Cuphead walked out of the bar station and picking Bendy up. He tossed him over his shoulders and walked out of the bar, ignoring the gazes of the few people sober enough to notice him.
"Put me downnnnn! I can- I can walk all by myself!" Bendy whined as he squirmed in the cup's arms. Cuphead laughed softly. "No way, you're gonna fall over, and I can't let you hurt your pretty face now, can I?" He teased, unlocking his car and placing Bendy down in the front passenger seat. He got into the driver's seat and helped Bendy get situated. "Just sit back and relax, passenger princess. Also, please don't puke in my car. Mugs would kill me." He half-joked.
The ride to Bendy's house wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. He may have ran a few lights, but it didn't happen if the cops didn't see it, right? When they got there, the car Bendy and Boris shared wasn't there.
Bendy noticed as well. "Mmh...? Looks like Boris isn't here... I think he's lookin for more medicine again…" He murmured against the window he was face-planting for some reason. Cuphead stepped out of the car and picked Bendy up into a bridal carry, and he didn't complain this time.
He curled his tail around Cuphead’s arm and nuzzled against the side of his head while he was carried inside. “Can you stay a lil longer, Cuppy?” He whined. Cuphead gently plopped him onto the couch, and he let out a soft “oof” sound. He couldn’t hide the smile that appeared on his face. So friggin cute…
“I don’t think yer brother would be very happen with me staying, pretty thing.” He replied. “Sit here and I’ll get both of us some water.” He said, stroking the demon’s cheek for a moment then walking to the kitchen and filling two glasses of water. He spilled a bit though. I must be more drunk than I thought. He did feel a little warm and eh… groggy? Definitely tipsy.
“Here, you gotta sit up babe.” Cuphead cooed as he handed Bendy the glass of water. He almost immediately spilled it. “Wait- let me help you.” He held the glass up to Bendy’s lips, though they were both drunk, so their coordination was definitely off by a lot. Water was dripping down his chin now, so Cuphead pulled away and wiped the droplets with his thumb. Bendy just hummed and leaned into his hand.
Cuphead smiled again. “What’s up with you? Ya get needy when you’re drunk?” He teased before taking a long drink of his water.
“Mhm… You’re handsome when I’m drunk.” Bendy mumbled against Cuphead’s palm. He crawled into his lap and melted against his larger body before nuzzling against his shoulder. “…You’re warm…” He slurred softly.
Cuphead chuckled quietly and wrapped his arms around the other boy tightly. “That so?” He murmured. He pressed a kiss to the top of his head, then to his nose, then a little peck on the lips. Bendy smiled and started to sway his tail from side to side, then he began to purr silently. He was clearly happy with the pampering. “Glad you’ve chilled out.” Cuphead whispered weakly.
Ohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygod. Cuphead was actually going to die of cuteness. He was like a kitten that acted like a puppy! That’s literally the cutest thing ever! “This is so unfair, you little devil.” Cuphead sighed as he ran his finger along his tail. Bendy seemed to like it, because he shivered and the purring got louder.
Cuphead squeezed him in his arms. “I love you, Bends.” He whispered while rubbing his back. Bendy mumbled a soft “love you” back, though it was drowned out by the purrs that were coming from his throat.
After a few moments of cuddling on the couch, Bendy’s breathing got slow and his body went limp. Cuphead tilted his head up and checked his expression. “Ya asleep?” He asked softly. He waited a few seconds for a response, and when he didn’t get one, he picked the shorter boy up and carried him to his room. He laid him down on his bed and pulled the blanket over his body, then he gave him one more little kiss on his forehead.
He was a little sad about leaving him, but he still had to get back to Mugs. He might get in trouble for leaving, but it was worth it. He would have to chug a bunch of water before he got back to work though.
…
“Back on time for once, that’s good.” Mugman said when he saw Cuphead walk back behind the bar station. “Wait, you didn’t do anything, did you?” He questioned with furrowed brows.
Cuphead shrugged. “I’d be covered in ink.” He joked as he fixed his uniform up a bit. “All I did was cuddle him and spill water on myself, don’t you worry mugs. You just have a dirty mind~” He teased.
Mugman rolled his eyes. “Whatever, Cuphead. Just get your work done and make sure drink more water. I don’t want you to throw up here or in the car later.”
