Chapter Text
Captain Price had gotten word of some abandoned facility that had been supposedly used to produce nuclear weapons, and then abruptly abandoned for unknown reasons. That was all the details he was given; apparently nobody had been inside it since its abandonment, so all they had to go off of was rumors.
Nevertheless, Price decided it couldn't hurt to check it out. He didn't think it was really that serious, so he also decided that a large party was unnecessary. In the end, he ended up sending three soldiers; Ghost, Soap, and Cassy. Their mission was pretty straightforward; go in, scope out the place, and verify the rumors. If there was some nuclear shit, then they were to call back and get backup. If not, they were to just go back to base.
And so, after a long, boring ride of Soap pestering Ghost and Cassy uncharacteristically and silently watching them, they arrived at the facility. They unloaded and gathered at the door, before making their way inside.
The inside of the facility was pretty much what they expected; ruined, messy, abandoned. Windows shattered out, shelves broken, random junk scattered everywhere. It didn't really seem like the kind of place that would house nuclear weapons, but they continued on anyways.
When they walked in, Cassy was hit with an overwhelming smell of death and blood. Being a ghoul, she could smell those kind of things before anyone else could, especially when it was older and humans could no longer smell it. The scent, combined with the fact that she hadn't fed in quite some time, made her stomach start to churn with hunger. She swallowed it down and split, sweeping the opposite side of the room while Ghost and Soap made their way in as well.
She wasn't really paying attention to the other two, more worried about keeping her hunger in check and getting the job done as quickly as she could. So, when Soap randomly spoke up loudly, she jumped a bit, glancing over.
Soap and Ghost were standing next to some old kind of robot. It looked like someone had tried to recreate the damn animatronics from FNaF, but gave up halfway through. It was rusted and half-assembled, left to rot. Soap poked around at it a bit, before unlocking the stomach hatch and letting it swing open.
He and Ghost both gasped in unison, taking a step back. Ghost stood his ground, while Soap turned away from the robot, gagging a bit and covering his mouth.
"Holy shite, that's fuckin' boggin!" He gagged, shaking his head. Ghost just stared at it, huffing.
"Easy there, Johnny. We've seen worse."
"Aye, but no' like that! That's just pure disturbing, that is!"
Cassy just raised an eyebrow, wondering what Soap could possibly be reacting to like that, because Ghost was right; they had seen their fair share of fucked up shit. She made her way over, peeking around Ghost, only to freeze in place. Her eyes locked onto the open stomach hatch.. where there was a large pile of old, rotting, human organs sitting in it. Not a corpse, just the organs of at least a couple people. Just dumped in it and left, like some kind of twisted storage unit.
Cassy could feel her stomach churning even more now, her mouth watering. She hadn't eaten in months, and she was absolutely *starving*. Her fingers twitched and it took every ounce of strength in her body to not just shove them out of the way and inhale the contents of the robot.
After a few minutes, Ghost and Soap both turned away, announcing that they should keep going. Their words barely registered in her mind, and it took even more strength to force herself to turn away and follow them.
They continued on into the facility, Cassy trailing a bit behind them now, her mind no longer on the mission. The next couple of minutes passed her in a blur, and when Ghost and Soap were busy scouting a room, she spoke up.
"Hey.. I'm gonna split and go clear some of the other rooms. I'll catch up with you guys, ok?"
Ghost glanced at her, narrowing his eyes for a moment, before nodding.
"Right. Keep your guard up. Just because this place seems empty, doesn't mean it is." He grumbled, turning back to the objective.
She nodded quickly and turned, ducking down a hallway, but she didn't go to another room. Instead, she made a beeline for the front room, going straight for the robot. She dropped her rifle to the ground once she was in the room and nearly sprinted to the heap of metal, dropping to her knees infront of it.
She didn't hesitate, not able to control herself any longer. Her teeth sharpened a bit and her skin paled slightly as her Ghoul started to take over slightly, her nails sharpening into claws as she grabbed a handful of the organs and sank her teeth into them with a moan. Her eyes darkened as the blood and flesh hit her tongue, just spurring her hunger further. All the noise around her muffled as she focused on eating, blood and guts splattered all over her face and front, dripping down her neck and chin. She tore into it like a damn animal, but the sound of the safety clicking off on a gun snapped her attention back to her surroundings. She froze, her eyes widening. She turned slowly, only to find Ghost standing in the doorway, his rifle pointed at her head.
His eyes were dark behind his mask. He had seen quite a lot of fucked up shit in his time serving, but this definitely took the cake.
"Sergeant.. what the *fuck* are you doing..?" He growled, his finger resting on the trigger.
She just stared at him, her mouth and chin absolutely soaked in blood and bits, and a handful of organs still gripped tightly in her claws. She swallowed the mouthful of flesh hard, letting out a shaky breath.
"Gh..Ghost... I can explain.." She muttered weakly, but there was really no explaining what he was seeing. He was seeing it correctly, and to him, it looked like one of his Sergeants had become a damn cannibal.
Soap showed up after a second, freezing as he also saw the state Cassy was in. His hand flew up to his mouth, his eyes wide.
"Holy shite!!" He screamed, before turning and vomiting on the floor. Ghost paid him no mind, his focus solely on Cassy, his rifle never moving away from her head.
"There ain't no explaining, Sergeant. You're eating fuckin' guts!! You're a goddamn cannibal!" Ghost snarled.
Cassy's eyes widened as she watched him pull the trigger, and she felt a sharp pain as the bullet pierced the center of her forehead.
