Chapter Text
I rubbed my eyes to make sure I wasn't crazy, nope. It was Cocoa
"WH-what are you doing here!? You don't even USE this bathroom!" I blurted out while fixing myself up, wiping up dried tears, and fixing my scrambled flowers
"Well, I was looking for you everywhere..." she held her hands by her bare chest " And I had been told you went in here.." she added
"B-but...By who!?!?""
"So demanding, Bassie!.. anyways;" She took a deep breath, combing her ears with her hands like if it was her hair
" ...Brightney told me that you acted rudely towards Brusha and then ran into the bathroom...!!!!" she babbled, Cocoa was always nervous when it came to pointing fingers or telling a chain of events, even when necessary.
the silence was piercing.. I booked it from the stall before Cocoa would bring me to the other Easter toons. Targeting Brightney's room
I went into walking pace as she just crossed her arms and trudged toward the elevator in the opposite direction of me. An issue I had is... I don't know where Brightney or her room is. I don't know where anyone's is. I covered my face in disappointment in myself (and the people who built this place) I figured I'd find Brightney later. I went by the Tv at the end of the hall, sitting on the conveniently placed couch, I watched the animation, so lively yet... weird. The TV showed that even animated versions of the mains could be better than the REAL me, the environment basically showed itself to me. Despite the place being pristine due to Tisha, it still didn't feel clean. It looked the part but definitely wasn't. This place gave an overwhelming sense of defeat. It was a dystopian, shut-down, kids educational center, and we're still here, abandoned; Left to rot.
I watched the tv intently, Toodles sat next to me, originally to join me
" Are you ok?'' she questioned me in a worried manner
"It's nothing really...I just had a bad day." I looked away
"You can tell me!" she said with a beaming smile "I won't snitch!" She held her finger up to her mouth in a shushing motion,
"Ugh.. It's a lot. but...."
Then words spilt out my mouth, I ranted about my day, mainly the bad parts, I felt more calm when I mentioned getting welcomed nicely and meeting Brusha, the tense feeling in my... everything softened as the ranting just became talking about a newfound friend, I talked and talked until Toodles rightfully stopped my chattering.
"She can't be THAT enjoyable to be around...! You said like a BILLIONNN words about Brusha"
"I mean she's cool, like really cool! HaaAh...!" I smiled nervously, I tried to defend her even if it wasn't insults
"Can I tell you something? Don't tell anyone buuuuut..." she leaned towards me to whisper "Sometimes... She insults people likeeee a lot, she even said Gourdy's drawing didn't look good!!! she uses curse words too.." She spoke in a hushed tone
"She did?" I shouldn't have been getting gossip from a child, but my curiosity took over.
"Yah, she also has really bad beef with Tisha! She always talks about her art but yet she hasn't made any paintings in forever!" she gave bunches of information. I paused for a minute
"You... Sure about that??" I bit my lip in stress, trying to deny the facts
"Very! You didn't know?" she replied with wonder, unaware a person I called a friend for a day was an asshole, but I denied it, she wouldn't fake being nice to me..
"Alright, I need to go see the other Easter toons, wish me luck, Toodles." I sat up, gently lifting my dress and scurried away in a rush
"Godspeed, Private Bloomington!" she shouted in a playful manner, I honestly don't know why she called me that.

(Brusha's POV)
"Yeah, I'm fine, don't worry yourself about me." I scoffed, hiding my slightly trembling hand
"Come on everyone can tell you're not fine.'' She was now standing in front my table, having an uneased look on her face
"Even if I DID tell you, you simply wouldn't understand." I looked away, blowing my bristles from my face. I tapped my foot, more agitated this time.
she looked at me with a "are you serious" look, she was getting annoyed too.
"Please? Your terrible at accepting help."
I slammed my hands on the table almost hard enough to break it in a fit of anger, conversations paused, the waiters flinched, even the cooking stopped. Just the wooshing of the somehow working A/C. I looked at Shelly intently before sighing, trying to hide my increasing embarrassment, I felt itchy all over
"BECAUSE... I don't need it." I tried to draw attention away from myself
" At least talk to Teagan if you really don't trust me" she still had a look of worry, but she finally gave up on me. walking away with her head down
Vee looked at Shelly to comfort her as she sat back in her seat. The diner started talking again; it was mostly about me and Shelly. it just added onto my allegations.
I didn't feel hungry anymore. I also had no one to talk to, thankfully, my food was done and served, I tried to eat the grilled cheese and fries, I took a bite and felt nauseous, I slightly gagged, immediately sweating, I swallowed like if I was eating mold, I didn't want to waste the food. I bit and gnarfed the meal like I hadn't eaten in weeks, which I hadn't ate a lot. Completely forgetting about the latte I had next to the plate, I didn't care if I was being watched, I continued practically shoving food up my gullet with little to no chewing until there were just crumbs. I finished it off with the hot beverage, it was lukewarm by this point, so I drank it fairly quick, my stomach felt unwell, like if something was knotting and twisting me. I just sat still looking at the plate, the crumbs, I decided I'd paint this later, so much meaning and interpretation, it's...perfect. I think.
I went out of my seat walking away with an upset stomach, I tried to keep my composure, walking to the elevator, holding my stomach slightly as I entered the elevator, a few others who looked satisfied entered the "room" Goob, Scraps, Vee, Shelly, and Flutter. I looked down at myself, I heard small talk in the elevator, mainly from Shelly and Vee, I wasn't looking at anyone, but I can feel someone's gaze on me, I looked around, it was Vee, we didn't have a good relationship anyways. The elevator door opened to the toon rooms and I exited to Teagan's room, planning to take Shelly's advice.
Yeah right.
