One Way or Another

Summary:

At the beginning of A Regect Part 8, Ze and Regect got into an argument about corrupting their previous world and needing to rebuild.

What if someone was left behind?

How would it feel, to be abandoned by their creator, their enemies, and everyone and everything they ever knew?

What could they do, if all they were made for was to antagonize a fool and a failure?

And what would they do, if they found them again?

---
or, what if the reason we haven't seen the being from the Backthenisode was because they were still in the old world, and what if they made it over?

Notes:

I'm going to be making a lot of assumptions and guess work on this character we literally only saw for a few seconds but whatever

The Red, QR-Code entity at the end of the Backthenisode will be the main POV for this fic. She uses she/her pronouns because I felt like it :)

Chapter 1: Prelude

Chapter Text

“Took them long enough. Now, we start over. But this time – you will be on the opposing side.”

“FUCK YOU!”

“But don’t worry. I already have a replacement for you.”

This was his moment. Time to make her grand reveal to her new sworn nemesis.

She mustered up all her courage and made her grand declaration. Let’s start out simple – she thought. “Hello.”

“Oh, hey, what’s up man? Oh no.”

Already, she has struck fear into his heart. This will be a spectacle of misery and misfortune for the foolish former entity.

It’s been four months. Four eye-damned months since he disappeared and took everyone with him. The human, the clown, the wizard, and all the malignant forces she had acquired. Even the holy spectacles who had brought her into this world had vanished.

She had been holding on to the false hope that it had left her with in this horrid world.

“Do not worry.” Those eyes, that had forsaken her had left her with this message. “He has corrupted this world for now, but I shall return with them soon. You will not be wasted.”

How could she have known that would be the last she’d see of it? She had been nothing but a faithful servant, placing monsters and madness alike in this realm to damn this new player in a much grander way than her predecessor ever could. She had anticipated resistance, but those violent tendencies she has sparked in the army-born boy and the weaponry she had supplied under the guise of that skull-headed salesman would cause them to rupture from within. Admittedly, she didn’t know how she’d ruin the clown’s day, but she figured that jester would be another distraction that’d be absent upon their return.

Upon their return, which was sure to come soon. This was the thought that deluded her senses, invigorated her schemes, and made her cling to this delusion. No more. If her weaker, rejected, couldn’t even scare a sickly child counterpart could travel across worlds, then she, his superior in every way could too.

She allowed the hatred that had been festering within her towards the fool, his partner, and her god to boil over, and form a connection across dimensions. That rage fueled her supernatural abilities, and as she saw in her mind’s eye the fiendish visage of the faceless cretin who had separated her from her purpose, she felt her body, mind, and soul being whisked away.

Her eyes opened. A glance at herself, and her QR-code embedded body was there in all its glory. Her powers and mind were intact. Now, her life’s work could continue. She may be in a new world, in unfamiliar circumstances, abandoned by all that she knew, but she would not let that stop her.

No matter how long it took her, she would find them. One way, or another.
