Work Text:
“A science museum hosting a couples night huh. That prick just had to pick something as boring as this didn’t he?” Isagi groaned as he saw the glowing message from his phone. He was not excited for the night he was about to endure.
-------------------
10 Days Earlier :
Isagi sat silently in the office of the higher ups, to his right sat Noel Noa, and to his left Ego Jinpachi, with anri standing behind him. Across from him were the primary sponsors for blue lock, and at the opposite end the head of the JFU. For some reason not yet revealed to him, he alone was summoned in the middle of training (with his coaches as his representatives) to take part in this miserable meeting.
*“This probably has to do with being an omega.”* He thought, already annoyed at the situation. The higher ups had yet to say anything to him as the only omega to make it through to the NEL, and yet he could already tell by the looks they gave him that whatever they were gonna say would get on his nerves.
After about 15 minutes of idle chatter between the sponsors, the president of the JFU stood up, finally addressing the purpose of this meeting and allowing processes to begin.
“Good Evening everyone. I’m delighted to see that all of you made it, well all of you with the exception of representatives from the Mikage corp that is. I believe this is the first time we’ve held an in-person meeting like this one.” A polite round of applause echoed through the room, though most could tell it was more of a cordial gesture than a genuine one.
“Now we have a lot of things to address today so lets-“
“Get on with it tubby” Isagi looked at Ego who interrupted the larger man's speech before he could get off topic.
“We pulled Isagi and Noa out of training for this so lets skip the idle talk since it draws this out further than necessary, so just get on with it. What do you want?”
“Why you- ugh I was just getting to that.” Baratsuta grumbled, staring daggers at the head coach of blue lock before directing his gaze to Isagi, forcing a smile and round eyes. He seemed to be attempting to soften his look. It wasn’t working at all.
“Alright, in order to get our rare guests out of here as fast as possible we’ll address this issue first. To put it simply our advertisement committee has made quite the suggestion of how to further boost viewership towards Bluelock TV.“
“Spit it out”
“I’m getting to that Ego.” The man groaned, annoyance in his voice steadily rising along with Isagi's uneasiness.
“We believe that with the cooperation of Isagi Yoichi, viewership may double and potential sales along with it, meaning more funding for the program as a whole.”
“Cooperation…?” The sole omega in the room tilted his head, curious as to what this so-called leader is about to ask of him.
“Could you define “cooperation from me”… What exactly are you asking me to do?” Murmurs started to spread through the office room as the well-mannered boy asked his question with more openness than expected. Isagi would be more than happy to help out bluelock…. The issue was how exactly they needed this help. Their lack of clarity made him uneasy.
“To put it simply, as the only omega still in the program there’s a lot of curiosity surrounding your love life. So in an effort to ride the wave of interest our advertising team has suggested that you enter into a temporary relationship with another popular player.” Silence fell over the room as the words sunk in. Even some of the business men looked caught off guard.
“What.” Isagi stared dumbfounded at the suggestion from the older man. He was always extremely careful about applying scent blockers, but he’s sure if he hadn’t the room would reek of spoiled berries by now.
“I said-”
“No. I know what you said. But I don’t think you know what you just said. I’ll give your slow ass a minute to contemplate it.” The previously impressed investors around the table raised their eyes in surprise at the immediate shift in the omegas attitude.
The young man sat back in his chair glaring at the president as if he was plotting his murder. Ego shot him his normal emotionless expression, though he gave off an aura that held an impression of annoyance. As for Noa, he also sat blankly, though an almost imperceptible twitch in his brows gave away his slight surprise. He’d been in the industry for years and knew publicity stunts weren’t entirely uncommon, still the timing of this one seemed not only irresponsible but also extremely disrespectful.
And Anri, well she looked like she would have slapped the president if she were any closer to him. Meanwhile the other businessmen were all caught between shock and contemplative agreement at the suggestion. Or they were trying not to laugh.
Yoichi took a deep breath, channeling years of practiced restraint against inappropriate requests and actions towards him as he formulated a response.
“We just ask that you consider the benefits-”
“Ah- I’ll stop you right there. With all due respect, president… I fail to see how a distraction of a fake relationship would serve many if any benefits to me at all. I’m an athlete at one of the most demanding facilities in the world, I already devote most if not all of my time to football and the little time off I do get is invaluable for my mental health as an athlete. Are you suggesting that I give up even more of that time to work? To maintain and put on a show of a fake relationship? Because I know there’s no way in hell you’re asking me to use up practice time.”
Anri nodded viciously in agreement to the boy’s statement. Though she wasn’t as close to him as his mentors, she’d still watched him through all of bluelock and didn’t care much to see him, or any of her players, extorted. “He’s right sir. Legally he’s obligated to his time off and he needs to maintain his training rate in order to continuously deliver good results on the field.”
“Fine then. You want to talk contracts, let's talk contracts.” The president gave Anri a glare before allowing his face to melt into a slimy grin.
“Let me rephrase my initial statement. Isagi Yoichi, you have been selected to enter into a public relationship with another member of bluelock. Failure to fulfill direct orders from the heads will result in a breach of contract, resulting in future bans from participating both in the blue lock program and Japans National team.”
Isagi stared at the man, eyebrows furrowed in suspicion. He was almost certain this threat was a bluff. After all he was one of the most popular members, they’d lose more by kicking him out than just letting him go. But still there was a part of him, a part he was desperately trying to ignore, a part that overthought and acknowledged that they could go through with this threat. Everyone’s replaceable.
“So you’re trying to extort me.”
“Extort you?? BAH” The president guffawed at the true accusation. “No, I’m just reminding you that you have a duty to meet your employer's demands and the consequences if not.”
“Yeah no I’m calling your bluff.” Ego spoke up once more, causing the president to shrink slightly. “Why fire our arguably most popular player over the loss of profits that aren’t even guaranteed.”
“Ah but you see he’s our most popular player, we have full faith that profits are guaranteed.”
The two sides went back and forth for way too long, the president planting seeds of doubt in Isagi’s mind every step of the way until eventually his pride was worn out.
“UGH. Fuck this shit. Fine just give me the list.” He snapped bringing the arguments to an end. “List?”
“Yeah, give it to me. You said I can choose any player as long as they're popular enough, right? Well give me the list of the most popular ones”
“Woah woah woah- Isagi are you sure?” Anri questioned him.
“Yeah it’s fine, whatever, I don’t care anymore. Just let me choose who.” He turned to the president. “And if I’m doing this you have to allow me to tell them it’s just for press.”
“We planned to anyway.” He said, still wearing that same slimy grin.
“And they won’t be missing out on training for stupid events” Ego added.
“Of course”
“And they’ll both be paid for the time put towards this- And all of the expenses for public dates.” Anri pushed.
“Mh we can work something out-”
“You will”
“Of course.”
“Write those promises down.” Noa threw in.
Huffing, the president wrote down a term of agreement and signed off on it before handing it to his assistant and having her bring over a list of potential candidates to Isagi.
“We’ll write up a contract for you and whoever you pick and send it down at a later date. For now here’s the players you can choose from.”
Isagi looked down at the list of familiar names.
1. Isagi Yoichi
2. Nagi Seishiro
3. Bachira Meguru
4. Chigiri Hyoma
5. Yukimiya Kenyu
6. Tabito Karasu
7. Rin Itoshi
8. Shidou Ryusei
9. Reo Mikage
10. Niko Ikki
To say Isagi was shocked by the list would be an understatement. It wasn’t necessarily the names themselves, more-so the order. He’d expected it to better match the blue lock rankings, yet it didn’t, that must mean most of the favorites were probably based on the impressions they give off on BLLK TV rather than their on-field performance. Immediately he decided against anyone who would be too willing.
Yeah if he wanted out, he’d have to choose someone who’d cause a fuss. They can’t be too against it without reason either though, or else they’ll say no without explanation and Isagi would just end up at square one and have to pick another option. Someone agreeable enough to get along but aligned with Isagi’s wishes to push against this. Then the higher up would be pushed to see just how dumb this whole deal is.
“Mmmmm…”
“You can take your time.”
“No, I want-”
-----------------------
Yukimiya knocked urgently on the door to Isagi’s dorm room. It wasn’t like he was rushing to get to their date, but they were getting just a little too close to the time they were supposed to leave and he’d rather not get back later than they had to.
“Isagi, Hurry up-“
Yukimiya went to knock again, his hand suddenly meeting air as the door swung open.
“Ugh, why are you in such a hurry to go through this.”
Looking down in a huff the beta was blindsided by the face he was met with. It was an odd sight really, seeing isagi all dressed up that is. Something felt weird about seeing him in anything but their uniforms or workout attire, it wasn’t necessarily unpleasant though.
The boy wore a long sleeved black button down that fit just a little too well. Tight enough to show off his smaller figure but loose enough to not look like he was trying too hard. Yukimiya found his eyes wandering, soon questioning his own vision, he blinked a few times before registering that isagi was wearing an ankle length skirt. He blinked once more, then twice, still surprised to see the forest green flowy mass didn’t disappear.
“Hey you good??” His blue haired date snapped him back to reality with an irritated tone.
“Uhh yeah… I just didn’t expect you to be the type to wear that I guess.”
The shorter boy scoffed, finally moving into Yukimiya's space as he closed the door. Upon closing the distance the warm scent of blueberry baked goods hit Yuki like a tsunami. As a beta Yukimiya wasn’t usually particularly affected by the scents of omegas, though he noticed as his vision decreased he had become more sensitive to them. In the past he’d heard Isagi mention that he always wears scent blockers, but in this moment he was certain the omega couldn't have been.
It was a strange feeling, realizing you’ve never actually smelled your teammate before that is… and that your forced date conveniently smells like your favorite food.
“Oh, the skirt? You’re right, it’s not my usual style, but the higher ups made me wear it for you since you like ephemeral things or something.”
Yukimiya steeled himself, wearing his practiced “cool guy” expression in an attempt to mask any feelings he may have felt about the phrasing “for you”. The relaxed chill guy facade was a play that had worked on plenty of women even in his most embarrassing moments, though he couldn’t help but feel nervous as he knew the boy in front of him was the type to see right through it.
“I think you have ephemeral mixed with feminine.” He said trying to get one up on Isagi.
The correction pulled a smile from the ravenette as he continued to analyze the betas face. The moment he felt content with his assumptions he reached to push up his glasses, a move meant to break the tension. Caught off guard, Yuki stumbled back, still trying to catch up with actions happening before him. Before he could react he was left behind to watch Isagi skip further down the hallway.
“Oh trust me I know what ephemeral means, I had to read alllllll about that fetish of yours.”
As if to rub salt in the wound, he took a spin, willing the long skirt to flow in a circle before looking back at Yuki with the smile of a girl next door.
“But just cause’ I understand the difference doesn’t mean the higher ups do. You can look at it this way, seeing me in a skirt may as well be considered ephemeral anyways since no one else will ever see it again!”
The brunette beta’s eyes twitched at the picture perfect image in front of him. This was supposed to be a fake date to get people talking about bluelock, a date that he hadn’t looked forward to by any means considering him and Isagi had just had a public argument and make up on BLLK TV, so why was Isagi going out of his way to tease him? Is this just how omegas act on dates?? Even fake ones? Or maybe he’s just shooting the shit.
Quickly the soft expression Isagi wore melted to that of a brute as he laughed at his partner’s face. Yuki’s expression seemed to turn sour as Yoichi cackled. Isagi always had a habit of reading people’s faces, but this was one he’d never seen. Embarrassment, fluster, anger?? He couldn’t really tell but it was certainly an interesting look.
“Don’t look so disgusted!! I’m just teasing! In all honesty it really was either this or a sundress, and I wanna maintain some dignity as a guy.”
“Huh?! They’d actually make you wear that???”
“They made us start a fake relationship and you’re surprised my outfit was chosen for me?? Really I’m just grateful we have any choices at all.”
Catching up with his date, the model hummed, thinking it over. “Mmhhhh actually they made YOU start a fake relationship, you just dragged me into it.”
“Tch- That’s cause I thought you’d put up a fight, And you did get a choice! You could've said no, and you got to choose where we go.”
“You thought I’d put up a fight?” The brunette tilted his head in confusion as he fell into step with Isagi, now noticing the clicking of what was probably a pair of heels given he seemed a bit taller than usual.
“Yeah, you know, tell the executives this is a terrible idea and that it's cruel and unusual punishment. They don’t really care what I have to say on the matter, so I figured hearing it from a generally reasonable beta like you would snap some sense into them.” Isagi’s scent soured as he spoke, clearly displeased by the situation.
Yukimiya furrowed his brows at the displeasing scent, willing his own scent of milk chocolate to put up a wall between them.
“I see, well while I do agree this is a terrible idea, I really doubt me saying anything would’ve ended it there. It also would’ve been nice to know thats why you chose me before hand so I could try to play along.”
Isagi subconsciously drifted closer to the wall of chocolate between them as they walked. Despite knowing he should probably be offended by the boundary, he found it strangely tempting, like lying on a softened carpet after a long day of training.
“Yeah… Sorry I just dropped that on you. I guess I didn’t think I’d have to since you’re not into guys anyway. It’s against your religion too or something right? Figured you might throw a fit over a non traditional dynamic. Oh and we had only just made up after last match so-”
“HUH?! What would make you think that??” Yukimiya's steps faltered as Isagi further explained his reasoning.
“Well you mentioned you’ve only ever been on a few dates with girls even though you got a lot of chocolate for valent-“
Yuki stopped, turning to Isagi as he shook his head vigorously. “No no not that- You think I have something against gay people?”
Isagi’s heels clicked as he stopped next to Yukimiya, looking up at him with confused eyes. “You’re… not?”
The taller beta burned red with embarrassment, running his hand along his face. He could feel a headache coming on. “No, I’m not.” he paused, fixing his glasses tentatively. “Do you… Just think all religious people hate non-trad mates?”
It was Isagi’s turn to flush hot with embarrassment, “WHAT- No no no, I know it’s not all religious people, It’s just- Well…”
“Well what? I mean I know we didn’t get off on the best foot but that has nothing-“
“It’s just that- you remember that time we were all leaving the locker room after training, it was a day or so after we had that fight, anyways I overheard you talking with Hiori and Igaguri and some of the others…”
Yukimiya furrowed his brows as he tried to pull the memory from his head, painting a picture of the conversation that unfolded in his mind's eye.
“I think they were just teasing you about picking a fight with me. Someone made a joke about arguing like kids on a playground, implying you liked me, and you said “I’d never like an omega, I’m normal.”” Isagi looked down, pulling nervously at the fabric of his skirt as a pained sound left the back of Yuki’s throat.
“I- I didn’t mean it in a bad way.” He said readjusting his glasses again. Isagi watched unamused, registering the nervous tic.
“I just meant I don’t like guys at all, and I probably wouldn’t date a female omega or alpha either. But yeah now that you point it out, that did come out… not the best.”
Yoichi blinked up at him before nodding. “Hm, ok then I can accept that for now. I guess this kind of throws my whole plan of ragebaiting you into causing a scene out the window.”
“Yeah you can. Wait- what?”
Yoichi laughed as he turned away to walk towards their destination, still messing with the fold of his skirt to try and ease some of the awkwardness he felt.
“Haha… yeah I was kind of planning on trying to bait you into quitting this date by flirting a little bit. But that clearly won’t work so I’ll back off. And we already have an excuse to go out and have some fun so might as well make the best of it and hope whatever directions the paparazzi were given aren’t too invasive.”
Kenyu clenched his jaw in order to not look like an idiot when it dropped. So that’s why it seemed like Isagi was flirting earlier despite the date being fake. He sighed, catching up to Isagi in a few strides. The shorter boy walked fast, uncomfortably tugging on his clothes in all of his awkward confessional glory.
“You really do use people like Kaiser.”
The scent of stale blueberries flooded the hall as Yoichi buried his face in his hands, clearly regretting his earlier admission. He’d already tried trading honesty for trust, hopefully a little more could help smoothen things out. Maybe.
“Ughhhh. I miscalculated and I’m sorry. I just ask that you free me from that comparison, please Yuki.” He grumbled as they fell into step once more with one another. The taller of the two felt his heart skip strangely in a way that he’s sure would mean something if he liked guys. If.
“Pft, I guess I shouldn’t really throw shots either since I was offensive too, and I get the position you’re in. Kind of. Sometimes for modeling they’ll try to push weird shoots I’d really rather avoid.”
“Ah I see. So I guess that’s why you said yes despite also not really wanting to?”
The brunette nodded, tension unfolding as they finally reached the exit of the building. Without much thought he stepped out first, holding the door open for Isagi to walk through. The omega stopped, staring confused for a moment on the border between inside and out.
“Are you coming?” Yukimiya tilted his head, bangs falling in front of his eyes as Isagi stared.
“Oh- yeah sorry that just caught me kind of off guard.” The omega tilted this gaze back to the floor as he hurried through the door, grumbling something about pretty boys that Yuki thankfully seemed to miss. He’d been blinded for a second by the reminder that he was technically on a date with a model. For just a moment Yukimiya looked strangely like the lead straight out of a shojo anime.
“What, not used to having doors held open for you?”
Yoichi scoffed, crossing his arms as they made their way to a discreet black car parked across the lot.
“Actually no, believe it or not most people hardly remember I’m an omega at all, let alone act chivalrous about it.”
“Really? What about your other dates?”
“My other dates?” Yoichi raised an eyebrow as they walked over the gravel lot. He mentally cursed the shoes chosen for him as he tried to not trip. The heels were short, sure, maybe only an inch or two at most, and yet they seemed to throw off his entire center of gravity.
“Yeah you know, past dates.” As they reached the car Yukimiya reached to open the back passenger door, once more moving to the side for Isagi to get in.
Ignoring the question without the omega quickly bunched up the fabric around his legs, tossing himself into the backseat without a beat. He looked away from his date so as not to get blinded by Mr.Model for a second time tonight, yet could feel the amused betas four eyes on him as he dutifully fussed with the overstimulating cloth.
Only when he seemed properly positioned did Yuki close the door and reappear in the seat next to him, giggling like a child. “What was that?”
“What was what?”
“The thing you did with the skirt.” He smiled, clearly amused by Yoichi’s lack of comfort with the outfit chosen for him.
“Tch- you try doing anything with this thing on. It’s fine enough when standing but as soon as I go to sit it’s like drowning in fabric.”
“Ahh, I guess I can understand that then- you’ve really never worn one before?”
Isagi pouted looking out the window as the car began to move. “I never said I’ve never worn one.”
“Oh? Was it for your last date then?”
“It was for a class fair in middle school. I’ve… This is my first date technically.”
Isagi watched the pretty brunettes’ eyes widen in the reflection of the window.
“Oh.”
“Yawp.” Yoichi confirmed once more with a pop for emphasis. “And I’m sure I look just as silly as I did at that fair.” He looked back to yukimiya, chocolate meeting blueberries with all the excitement on a nonchalant shrug. “This is a fake date anyways though so I guess it doesn’t really matter.”
Now it was Kenyus turn to pout. Unsure of what exactly to say, he reached over, pinching Isagi’s cheek. “It’s a nice outfit, you look nice.”
Yoichi whined smacking the betas hand away lightly with a smile “Ouch- Yeah ok, nice, cause that's suuuuch high praise from a super model.”
“I’m being serious.”
“Right right, I believe you.”
“You look chic.”
“Chic? Lying is a sin you know.”
“I’m starting to think you just like arguing- Whatever, I thought you looked cute when I first saw you earlier.”
The car fell silent as the two registered Yukimiya's confession. Yukimiya averted his eyes for as long as he could before turning to see a blushing Isagi watching him like he’d just set off a bomb.
Slowly the surprised expression twitched, melting into an apprehensive smile. “Y’know it’s not nice to lead omegas on as a straight beta yukimiya.”
“Ughhh- You hang out with hiori too much. You seemed nicer pre-NEL.”
“We didn’t even talk pre-NEL!”
The two fell into a comfortable bickering for the rest of the drive until the car came to a smooth stop.
—————
By the time they arrived at the museum the sun had gone to bed and the scents of the two boys had mixed together, leaving less and less room for walls.
Yuki politely thanked the driver before exiting the vehicle. As he rounded the car to let Isagi out he noticed the glint of glass from some nearby bushes. Right. They're here for publicity.
He glanced through the window, noticing Isagi fiddling with the fabric of his clothes for the millionth time. As usual he opened the car door though this time was different.
“Are you seriously going to open every-“
Yoichi felt his face burn as yukimiya leaned into his space. With Isagi trying to leave and Yuki coming in, their faces were no more than an inch apart before Isagi backed up again.
“What the hell-“
“Sorry- Um just so you know before you get out, they’re already here and probably going to take pictures- so just try and pretend like you don’t notice anything.”
“Oh- Okay then, thanks for the heads up-“
Yukimiya nodded, politely backing up and fixing his hair as Isagi stepped out.
The omega stumbled on his first step, tangled again in the fabric of his clothes before finding balance in a hand that wasn’t his. He heard a faraway *click* as yukimiya steadied him, smoothly closing the car door and guiding him up the steps of the museum.
“Real smooth, you sure you don’t do this often yuki?”
“Not at all.”
“Sure… I see why you were voted as the top gentlemen in blue lock now though.” Isagi giggled, nudging the taller boy away as he hurried up the steps.
The pair quickly checked in infront of the building, names apparently already at the top of a longish list. Upon entering they were greeted with the site of a large empty hall, partially blocked off by black curtains. Isagi could see a few tables and what he assumed to be gift shops in the slits between the fabric wall. On the unblocked side an elaborate marble staircase welcomed them.
As they approached, a smiling attendant appeared. She had short brown hair and eyes like honeycomb with a subtle scent of cherry blossoms. She was most likely a beta. And off first glance Yukimiya’s type too.
“Good evening guests. We’re honored to host tonight’s evening, is this either your first time here, or are you both returning members?”
Isagi watched as she looked Yukimiya up and down, smiling warmly like a sugar trap while ignoring him completely.
His fake date returned the smile with equal warmth, “I’ve been here before a few times, it’s your first time though right?”
Yoichi looked back at yuki, nodding silently as he swayed halfway still in his thoughts. In the back of his mind he heard the woman giggle and give instructions to follow the arrows through the exhibits, but in the front he was stuck on the faces of the two betas beside him. He found himself repeating the instructions of the fake date in his head for some strange reason. It wasn’t like he had forgotten it was fake, so why did it sting?
As the woman walked away he found himself wondering if Yukimiya would have talked to her longer if not for him. Speaking of which-
“Isagi? Are you ok?” The brunette waved his hand in front of his fake date, concern painting his features in beautiful hues.
“Oh, yeah I’m ok. Sorry I just spaced out, you should get her number.” *Shit why did I say that outloud.*
“Huh? Why would I do that??”
Isagi felt sick as he stared at Yuki’s genuinely confused expression. Perfectly messy hair, piercing amber eyes, flawless skin, THE LIST FUCKING GOES ON FOREVER WHY DOES HE LOOK SO GOOD.
“Because she’s your type, right?” Isagi forced himself to look at the ground, unable to maintain further eye contact with the fuck ass face in front of him.
“Oh- I guess?” Yukimiya mumbled watching her talk to the next couple to walk in. She was pretty, in the same way a lot of girls who go to audition for modeling gigs are that is. But as far as objective beauty goes he couldn’t help but think Isagi beat that out pretty easily. And that's coming from someone not even into guys!
“She’s ok, but I’m on a date with you right now, even if it is a fake one. Besides, how would that look if someone caught a picture of me exchanging numbers with someone the same day pictures of us came out?”
Yoichi nodded understandingly, though he really stopped listening past “She’s ok”. She’s ok… SHE’S OKAY?!? *If SHE is just OK he must be humiliated standing next to me, ASSHOLE.*
Yuki stared a moment longer, trying to examine the omega's face the same way he did to him, but despite the effort, he found he couldn’t see that deep. Or more likely there was little to see.
“Let’s head up the stairs.” He said walking towards the large staircase.
Isagi trailed next to him, eyes cast on the steps so as not to trip.
“So why did you pick this place anyways?”
“What do you mean?”
“Well museums are kind of boring, no? I mean I get this is a couples night or whatever but it seems like a more private kind of date. Like the kind of place you’d go after you’re already dating. The paparazzi also can’t get nearly as many pictures this way. I thought you’d pick something like a movie, or going shopping in town, maybe even a theme park?”
“One, museums are not boring. And two, we can go to any of those places next time if you’d like that more. I chose this place cause I thought you’d like it.”
Yukimiya thought back to the list of dates he’d been given by the executives, all just like Isagi had described. In the end he’d chosen none of them since he wasn’t sure they’d suit him. Instead he’d remembered the museum he’d loved so much as a kid. But Isagi doesn’t like science, so he scrapped that too, until he remembered what kind of event they liked to host on nights like this.
“I hate science, you know.”
“I know, that’s why you’re weird.”
They finally reached the top of the stairs, in front of them was a curtain, guiding their path to an exhibition whose sign was covered.
Isagi looked at Yuki suspiciously before entering the room. Upon looking in he was transported into the long distant past. Dinosaur skeletons towered over them while models of ancient planets brushed their feet.
“Holy shit.”
“Pft” The beta laughed at the aw in his date's voice. It was cute. Well he’d probably think it would be if the date were real. Or if he liked guys. Still he felt a warm satisfaction bloom in his chest.
“Come on, we can't just stand in one place, unless you want to read each plaque.”
Yochi shook his head, willing away his own amazement. “You said this was a Science Museum but this is more like an Art show.”
“I hate art shows, staring at paintings gives me headaches.” He watched as Isagi stopped and started walking again to get better looks at the models. “But I knew you like artsy stuff so I figured this would be a good inbetween.”
“Oh… that’s sweet.” The two boys' faces were now painted in light red, whether it was from the lighting of the room or from their own feelings, well that could be decided at a different time.
Slowly they made their way through the other exhibits, each one somehow more beautiful than the last.
In the prehistoric ancestors section Yukimiya watched every time Isagi’s eyes lit up at the models of ancient and rare animals.
In the ocean life exhibit Isagi listened half heartedly as Yukimiya read off the plaques for each fish and shell.
They both pretended not to notice as their hands brushed near the display of mummies in the Deadly science exhibit.
By the time they got to the “physics in practice” section, Yukimiya had gotten used to ignoring the strange beating of his heart as he and Isagi competed with the interactive displays.
If he pushed away the quickening of his pulse when Isagi grabbed his arm to pull him towards the chemistry section, who would know? If he watched his teammates' eyes sparkle with interest as the displays grew large enough to make them feel like an atom in a single compound, who’d mind? The few other couples they’d seen were far too caught up in their own dates afterall.
“Still think museums are boring?” Yuki asked as Isagi examined a wall of portraits made by fire painting copper.
Isagi turned to the voice, realizing now how close the beta was standing behind him as the scent of flowing chocolate flooded his nose.
“It's not that bad…” Isagi turned back to the artwork “I guess I never should’ve doubted blue locks top gentleman. Is this how you win over all of your fans? Or is that just your looks?” He laughed as he turned around to face Yukimiya.
Even with an inch or two added, Isagi was still slightly shorter than him, but it was a convenient height. At least yukimiya thought so. It wouldn’t take much effort to kiss him at all. Wait- well that’d only matter if he liked-
“Let's go to the next spot, yeah?” Isagi stood in the same spot, poking Yukimiya's chest as if to get his attention. Oh, right, the entrance to the next place *is* behind him
The teen beta swallowed hard, nodding along with the idea before turning around, pulling Isagi along with him.
*“This isn’t a real date, this is fake. God if you hear me remind my heart this is-“*
“Woah.”
Yukimiya turned to see Isagi’s amazement once again, a sight he was starting to form an addiction to, but this time it was hard to see in the darkness of the room they’d entered. Ah that's right, this is the gemstone and minerals exhibit. In the darkness of the room tens of glass cases seemed to float, each with a treasured piece of jewelry, sculpture, or precious stone of their own.
It was beautiful, and yet all he cared about was forcing his eyes to adjust so he could see the omega's face.
When his eyes finally obeyed his command he found Isagi glancing back at after every display, as if looking for something. Eventually he settled in front of a chunk of orange sapphire, half polished, half seemingly untouched.
At some point in his viewing of crystals Isagi had decided to seek out something prettier than his date in hopes of mentally curbing the living temptation that was his date.
“This is the one.” He mumbled to himself, unaware of how much yukimiya was paying attention to him.
“The one what?” The omega froze realizing he’d been caught.
“Uhm- it… uh” His hands drifted back to his sides, fingers wringing the fabric at his hips to hide his own embarrassment. “The color of this one just reminded me of your eye color.”
A strangled noise halfway between a cough and sneeze left the betas’ throat as he took a look at the glittering stone. “You really think so?”
“Yeah… I do.”
He smiled examining the gem closer, maybe if he figured out the make up of the stone his heart could copy it instead of melting into mush at every new word yoichi said.
*”Ugh, what’s wrong with me?”*
Isagi watched Yukimiya closely examine the stone for himself. Seeing them side by side a part of him considered he may have been wrong. After all, with the gem's image reflecting in the betas glasses, he was definitely far better looking than any rock.
“Damn model.”
“Let's go to the next exhibit.”
Yukimiya followed along, increasingly weakened by the omega in front of him. He watched as he swayed slightly, a habit he assumed was only there due to the heals since he’d never noticed it before.
Just as Yoichi reached for the curtain of the next exhibit, Yukimiya grabbed his arm, stopping him in his tracks.
“What are you doing?”
“This is the last one, you should close your eyes before going in.”
The omega raised a brow suspiciously, “Don’t tell me there’s a proposal behind this curtain Yuki, that’s cliche even for you. Unless you’re secretly the CEO in a fancy drama that is.”
“Just trust me.”
It took one look at that gorgeously pleading face for Isagi to fold.
“Fine, just don’t let me trip.”
Yuki smiled bright enough to force Isagi’s eyes closed even if he hadn’t agreed. The omegas eyes fluttered closed as yukimiya took his hand.
With his eyes now closed, Yoichi could pick up on the scents and sounds around him even better than usual. He let himself be guided slowly, gently leaning into the warm chocolate scent in front of him as if it were a guiding light. Eventually they came to a stop and the scent shifted.
The scent reappeared behind him as a large hand hovered just in front of his eyes. Yuki wordlessly turned him as if adjusting him perfectly for something before leaning against his ear.
“You can look now”
He removed his hand, allowing Isagi to take in the view.
Constellations and stars stretched far and wide in all directions besides down. Directly in front of them was what must have been a globe of earth at night, large enough to be as tall as two nagi’s standing on each other's shoulders.
The omega leaned forward, looking at each golden dot on the globe before realizing the floor below him was painted to look like the moon itself. Suddenly the rest of the room came into thought as he turned around to find other, much larger models.
The beta watched as usual, silently drinking in the astounded scent of his date until they were suddenly back to chest.
“Oh sorry.” Yoichi said, looking up at the brunette after accidentally walking backwards into him.
Ignoring the apology, Yukimiya decided to favor the heart he’d spent the past few hours pretending to not hear, “Do you like it?”
“Yeah…” Yoichi nodded, refusing to let the intimacy of the moment scare him away again.
The two stared unabashedly, as if searching for constellations in each other's eyes would be more successful than looking around them.
Science was something solid, grounding. Things that were once mysteries had long since been solved and understood by people much older than yukimiya. On that note, one thing completely proven were the mechanics of gravity, and for just a moment the beta was certain he was feeling first hand what it meant to be suddenly affected by a new source of it.
Isagi for his part wasn’t doing anything to fight the forces taking him now. A part of him was warning, doubting, screaming even to move away.
But before he could it was too late. Because here, on a fake date, in an empty space exhibit in a boring science museum, with a stupid model that didn’t even like omegas, Yoichi was sharing his first kiss.
It happened so slow and so fast. A chaste kiss, quick enough to be brushed off as a mistake, an unfortunate result of poor positioning even.
But then Yuki grabbed his hand and closed the distance again, and without thinking Yoichi’s other hand found a home in the brunette locks.
Thoughts of not liking guys and fake dates echoed until they melted away on both boys lips like warm chocolate on fruit.
The kiss itself was far from erotic, but that did nothing to hinder the intimacy of it all. Slow, gentle, soft, warm. Those were the words Yoichi would definitely describe it as if ever asked. Kenyu made no attempt to deepen the kiss, seemingly sensing Yoichi’s inexperience and opting for a more relaxed connection.
*click*
That sound alone had all the influence of a bucket of ice water on the two. The pair pulled away as fast as they came together, brutally reminded of why they were out together in the first place. Right. Fake date, paparazzi.
Both separated as if social distancing to look around for the source of the sound. Nothing.
Yoichi crouched down as the realization of what he’d just done dawned upon him. He could feel his chest tightening, breathing picking up rapidly. This was not in the plan at all. This was just supposed to be the first date. Just an outing together to trigger some rumors and build hype to get the execs off his back. Instead that picture would all but confirm any idea that they could be dating. Not only that, Yuki was probably-
“Isagi are you okay?” Speak of the devil and he appears.
Yoichi turned to the boy now crouched beside him, tears already threatening to fall.
He nodded quickly, staring back at the ground, unable to meet the pretty boy's eyes without feeling sick. Yukimiya for his part considered rubbing his back, but decided to stop himself to avoid making things worse.
“Ok… Um, I found who took the picture.” Yoichi froze, whipping his head back to Yuki.
A middle aged couple stood behind him a few paces away. Two women, one tall blonde that was smiling nervously, phone in hand, the other slightly shorter with green braids down to her waist.
The blonde spoke first in broken Japanese, “Ah- I’m sorry if scared you.” She said scratching her cheek. The shorter woman next to her shook her head exasperated, bowing slightly. “Sorry about my wife, she always takes pictures when she thinks a shot is good. It’s a terrible habit but she had full intention of showing you after.”
The blonde woman nodded dramatically, bowing and holding out her phone to Yukimiya who was still crouching down.
“Yes yes, I really mean to send the picture. If you like I can delete too. Sorry sorry.”
Isagi watched, trying to calm his breathing as Yukimiya took the phone to examine the photo. Looking at the other pictures in the search bar he could see evidence of the habit in other photos of presumed strangers as well as her wife. Focusing back on the real picture though, it was nice.
He could feel his own face heating up at intimacy seeping through the screen. Yoichi looked over his shoulder as his breath steadied just to see.
Kenyu tried not to laugh as he saw the omegas face turn redder than the mars model in the room.
“I’d love for you to send the picture. You have a gift for photography, do you do it for a living?” Kenyu stood back up, gently pulling up a still embarrassed Isagi along with him.
“I do! We come to japan for that!” The blonde smiled, tapping her phone to Yukimiyas to transfer the photo and number.
“Ah I see, that’s great, there’s a lot of good photographers around here. Well the ones who aren’t slimey are great…”
The woman with braids looked at him curiously. “Oh, are you in the industry too? Now that I think about it, your face does look…”
“Haha… Yeah I model sometimes. Oh but we’re also both on Japan's Soccer U-20 team, well sort of. You may be thinking of that instead, which is actually why I was going to ask-“
“She’ll delete the picture, don't worry.” The blonde held up her phone, visibly deleting the photo from her camera roll and from the deleted folder after.
Both teens let out a sigh of relief at the sight, Isagi in particular finally finding stable breath.
“We will leave you now. Sorry Sorry again. Enjoy your meeting!” The blonde woman smiled, pulling away her wife to the other side of the exhibit, leaving Yoichi and Kanyu somewhat alone again.
An awkward silence settled between the two, chests tightening once more.
“Isagi-“
“Yukimiya-“
They stared at each other, stomachs twisting with butterflies and nausea.
“You can go first.” Isagi mumbled tapping his foot on the ground.
The beta looked at the omega silently. The addicting expression and scent he’d indulged in all night was gone, and in its place sat a sickening weight. He should probably apologize for the kiss. He was probably leading isagi on. He didn’t even like guys.
Or that's what he thought.
The beta opened his mouth to apologize, but the memory of his date's soft lips on his forbid him from fixing his mouth in such a way. So instead he asked,
“Are you hungry?”
He’d spent the night watching as yoichi’s eyes lit up with wonder at each new exhibit, as he fussed with his clothes, as he relearned how to walk in unfamiliar shoes. And now Yuki watched as the same boy blinked away tears, forcing a tight smile and nod.
“Yeah, Yeah I could eat.”
——-
As they were leaving the museum Yuki noticed Isagi walking slightly farther away. No matter how much he leaned towards him, the omega adapted moving even further away. He sighed trying to figure out how to fix this.
He should be a man about this. Clear things up so there was no confusion. Remind them both that this date was completely and utterly set up. Fuck how’d things end up like this.
He pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling a headache come on as yoichi and he made their way down the lit steps of the museum.
It was there, under the path lights of the stairs that Yuki noticed Isagi was walking even stranger than before, almost limping.
“Isagi, are you ok?”
His fake date stood up straighter, staring at Yuki like he was in an interview and any answer he could possibly give was a wrong one.
“Yeah, why?”
“You’re walking strangely.”
The beta was blunt with his words, and having it pointed out shoved the shooting pain of Isagi’s feet into the front of his mind.
The omega stopped walking down the stairs, lifting up his skirt to inspect his feet.
Oh. Blood.
He must have been so distracted he didn’t notice the pain, but now seeing the open blisters on the back of his heels it was impossible to forget.
“My feet just hurt a bit.” Was all he said before dropping the skirt back down to cover the wounds. “Don’t worry it’s-“
He tried to brush it off but it was too late, Yukimiya had already seen the damage and made up his mind.
In one smooth motion the omega was lifted into the air. Yukimiya held him steady, one arm under his knees, the other supporting his back.
“What the hell are you doing.” Isagi hissed in the betas ear.
“You’re insane if you think I’m letting you walk around like that. Ego, Noa, AND Anri would kill me if they found out I realized your feet were fucked up and didn’t do anything.”
As if on cue a barrage of clicks came from different sources around them.
Yoichi groaned, hiding his face in his teammates shoulder as they walked further down the stairs.
“So you’re above completely sabotaging me, nice to know Yukimiya.”
The brunette rolled his eyes, but found tension leaving his shoulders despite carrying someone in his hands.
“I’m still a gentleman, what can I say, my parents raised me well.”
At this isagi scoffed, shaking his head against Yuki’s collar.
“No no no, you don’t get to play the gentlemen card now Mr.IKissGuysEvenThoughI’mCompletelyStraight. Tell me, are you trying to mess with me there, or is acting like the male lead in a drama just your default.”
Yukimiya blushed, holding Yoichi just a fraction tighter at being called out so directly.
“Neither… I’m starting to think I was just wrong about that. Not liking omegas I mean.”
The two fell back into silence, with Isagi staring at him with an unreadable expression.
As they reached the bottom of the stairs Yukimiya realized the car was still nowhere to be seen. He quickly found a bench, placing Isagi down before pulling out his phone to check his location. The driver was about five minutes away.
When he looked back up, Isagi was on his own phone, looking pale as a ghost.
Sensing Yukimiya’s eyes on him, he wordlessly turned the phone to the boy, showing him a recently published article already posted of them entering the Museum together.
“Shit, that’s sooner than I thought… The driver will be here in 5…Do you still want to go eat?”
Isagi blinked, considering the offer. His mind was too crowded to fully think through anything, but still, he nodded. He wanted a little more time together, even if it was a stupid desire.
“Maybe just desert…”
Yuki turned the suggestion over in his mind. “Cake?”
“Sounds good.”
The two hummed in agreement, seemingly reverting back to a quiet sort of comfort, until Yukimiya seemingly remembered something.
Without a word he kneeled down in front of Isagi, gently grabbing hold of his ankle.
The boy flinched in his seat, looking down at the princely sight in front of him. “What the hell are you doing?!”
“Checking your feet, It looked like you were bleeding.” The beta said matter of factly as he undid the clasp of the short heels. As expected Isagi’s ankle did indeed have a bleeding blister on the back.
Yoichi hissed at the sting of the shoe rubbing against his heel.
Sorry sorry, Yukimiya mumbled, further inspecting Isagi’s bare feet. Other than the blisters on his ankles they seemed fine, if only slightly bruised. He carefully let go smiling up at Isagi with the evil shoes in his hand.
“Not saying the skirt isn’t cute, cause it is, but you should do yourself a favor and deny the higher ups fashion choices from now on, at least when it comes to footwear.”
Yoichi blushed at the praise, “Yeah yeah, I won’t be listening to them again. Now get up!! You look like a pervert staring at my feet in public.” He pulled at his dates shirt in an attempt to get him up. But it seemed Yukimiya had decided today would be a good day for a murder attempt as he leaned forward, laying his head against Isagi’s knees.
The omega lost it seeing that face there. He quickly pulled the now laughing beta up by the collar to reach his height.
“You better pray no one got pictures of that.”
Yukimiya simply smirked before hearing the car pull up.
“Right on time.” He said before picking up Isagi again and carrying him to the black vehicle.
Without needing to ask, the driver appeared by the back passenger door, opening it wide for the two.
Isagi mumbled a quick thanks as Yuki placed him into the car before closing the door.
Not more than ten minutes later they were outside of a cafe. What kind of cafe decided to open at night like this? Isagi was unsure, but Yuki apparently had this up his sleeve as he carried Isagi through the door and to a table like he owned the place.
After getting settled in, Isagi glared at him half-heartedly. “Are you seriously going to carry me like that every time I have to walk now?”
Yukimiya readjusted his glasses, leaning his chin on his hand. “I don’t see why not. It’s not good to walk around barefoot with an open wound ya know.”
Isagi sighed, burying his face in the menu, “Fine whatever you say.”
The two fell back into silence as they scanned through the items listed. Or at least they pretended to.
Isagi tried to shove his confusion towards the entire evening down into the deepest part of his soul. What kind of situation even is this. He didn’t like Yukimiya in that way at all before this, not to mention this date wasn’t even real. Either he was way easier than he thought or yuki had to be doing some sort of hypnosis on him. Either way honestly felt equally humiliating at this point.
Meanwhile Yukimiya was trying not to scream. Between his rapid onset sexuality crisis and his need to get yoichi out of his own head he felt like god was serving him up one of the most confusing challenges of his life. Temptation was a battle like any other, and right now he was losing terribly.
“Ready to order?”
The two boys snapped their heads up to find an older woman smiling down at them, customer service voice polished to perfection.
Yuki glanced at Isagi who nodded tentatively, before speaking to her. “Yeah… Isagi, you can order first.”
“Oh ok, Could I have some water and a slice of chocolate cake please?”
The woman nodded warmly before turning back to Yuki.
“I’d also like water please. Oh and I’ll get the blueberry cheesecake.”
“Ok, Two waters, A blueberry tart for the chocolate smelling beta and a chocolate cake for the blueberry omega. Sounds good to me. I’ll be sure to add on the couples discount, just ring the bell at the counter if you need anything else.” The woman smiled watching the young boys' faces glow with the warmth of young love as she walked away.
“Chocolate cake huh…” Yukimiya hid a smile behind his hand as Isagi sat up straighter.
“You’re spending too much time with karasu and otoya, it’s going to your head. I just happen to like chocolate cake… What about you huh? Blueberry cheesecake??”
Yuki shrugged, clearly unbothered by the implied accusation. “Blueberries are my favorite food, I thought you’d know that considering you did research on my fetishes. Unless that's all you cared about?”
He watched amused as the omegas scent grew in sync with Isagi’s malfunction. It was nice, seeing the smartass on the field fold so easily to light teasing in regular settings
“That’s not-“
“Um excuse me, are you Yukimiya Kenyu?” The pair looked up to see a trio of teen girls had approached their small table. Yuki instinctively went into PR mode as he noticed the two of the girls holding phones and pens.
“Oh, Yes that’s me, can I help you?”
“oh my gosh it’s really him” One of the girls whispered loudly, tugging on the sleeve of her friend.
The lead girl cleared her throat clearly nervous, “S-sorry to bother you, It’s just that we’re fans of some of your shoots and we were wondering if we could get a picture or two.”
Isagi watched the interaction, ignored again today. Just as it felt like he and yuki were building common ground back he was reminded of the gap between them. Sure he played soccer, but that didn’t give you much as an omega. But yuki, he was a model too, girls were literally lining up to date him.
The third girl nodded viciously, leaning even further into Yuki’s space “Yeah! We watched your goal in the NEL too, you were amazing!! Totally the MVP of that match.”
At that Isagi’s eye twitched, had they really even watched the game?? Sure that last goal was Yuki’s and it was his shooting ability that made that, but Isagi was by definition the most-
His thoughts were silenced by the light tap of a shoe against his foot. Yukimiya still smiled, halfway listening to the fans chatter, but his mind was clearly still with Isagi.
“Sure we can take some pictures, but I don’t know about MVP. I think that was definitely Isagi here.” He smiled, gesturing to the ignored omega across from him. “I still have a long way to go. I’ll be sure to make you proud though so thank you for the support.”
Yoichi swore he saw the third girl's soul leave her body as Yuki winked at them. Part of him wanted to roll his eyes at his date's stupidity. That same part also wanted to wring her neck out of jealousy but at the end of the day they were still fans.
In the end Isagi stood up to take pictures of the girls and Yukimiya, not entirely caring if he just so happened to get the fans' bad sides since he knew Yuki didn’t have any. He handed back each of their phones, remaining mostly silent for the entire interaction as they said their goodbyes. Before yuki could sit back down though, the first girl stopped him with a look that made isagi sick.
“Um- by the way, Yuki-Kun. I was wondering if you’d happen to be single? N-not to be overbearing or anything, it’s just, well you seem really cool and we’re the same age so I was wondering if you’d be willing to exchange numbers- I-if not thats ok!! I’ll still support your work, it’s just… yeah…”
She looked down at the ground blushing, despite her also clearly being a beta, Isagi could pick up on her flustered scent of strawberries from where he sat. She was pretty, even prettier than the girl from the museum. This was probably it. The point where yukimiya would ditch him and remember how much easier things are with a beta girl-
“Thank you, that means a lot. But I can’t accept your confession.”
Isagi watched, stunned as the brunette beta bowed to the teary eyed fan.
“I currently have feelings for someone else… It’d be unfair to you to accept. I wish you the best though.” He smiled warmly as the girl nodded, blinking tears away.
Isagi watched confused and fighting back tears of his own as they bid their goodbyes. Since when had he reverted to being such a crybaby?
By the time Yukimiya returned, Isagi was unfortunately losing the battle against his spiking hormones.
He had apparently swung by the counter to pick up their drinks and food on the way. He wore a content expression as he set down the desserts on the table before realizing Isagi was strangely quiet again.
“Hey- are you ok? I’m sorry they ignored you, but I got your food.” The omega sniffled, letting out a shaky breath but refused to look up at his date. Without a word he picked up a fork, shoveling cake into his mouth to try and dampen his shame.
“Woah- hey drink something you’re going to choke.” Isagi just ate faster, tears slowly falling as he realized the cake didn’t taste nearly as good as yukimiya smelled.
“Yoichi, slow down.” Yukimiya reached out, grabbing Isagi’s wrist so he couldn’t bring his fork to his mouth. He felt stunned as he registered the tears down the boy’s cheeks, still full of cake.
“Chew. And then drink some water and talk.” Isagi sniffled, doing just that as Yukimiya reached forward with a napkin, wiping the tears away. After a bit of silence and some deep breathing Isagi composed himself.
“You didn’t tell me you had someone you liked before we went on this date.” He mumbled lightly, kicking kenyu under the table.
“Huh?? That’s because I didn’t.”
Isagi blinked, still pouting as he was unsatisfied by that answer.
“Then why’d you tell that girl that.”
Yukimiya bit the inside of his cheek before readjusting his glasses. “You sure do spend a lot of time in your head.”
Isagi’s shoulders tensed further as he picked his fork back up and took another large bite of cake.
“I think I like you now.”
He would have choked on the bite if the reminder to drink water hadn't popped into his head.
“You can’t like me.”
“Why not.”
“Because you don’t like guys and probably wouldn’t even date a female omega or alpha.”
Yukimiya quickly fixed his face to match the pout his date was wearing across from him.
“I told you I think I was wrong about that.”
“You still can’t like me.”
“Why not?”
“Because you don’t *know* you were wrong about that.” Isagi mumbled as he played with the straw in his drink. “And even if you did, you have way better options.”
Isagi didn’t look up, but if he did he would have seen a face of petulance as yuki stabbed into his own treat. Similarly to Isagi, he found it didn’t taste as good as the other smell, which was strange, because this was his favorite thing on the menu. After a few rather un-gentlemanly bites and gulps of water, he found the strength to beat this challenge.
Reaching across the table he grabbed the omega's hand. Not hard enough to hurt, but firm enough to ground them. He stayed like that until his date found it in himself to look him in the eye.
“You’re right Isagi, this is a fake date for PR, and I’ve never liked another omega or guy before this, and I guess if I really wanted I could probably go date the next random girl that comes up and asks for my signature.”
Yoichi clenched his teeth, nodding along as he tried to pull back, but yuki kept him there.
“But I do like you. Even if I didn’t really realize it until now. Yeah the feelings are kind of new, and maybe I’m just caught up in the weirdness of this entire situation. Hell I’m sure you could probably also go find a hot alpha way more your type that fans would be much happier to see you with. But I like you, and even though I’m not sure how to go about this, we’ll have to keep going on fake dates anyway for the execs. So I guess what I’m really asking is… can we try to treat the next few like they’re real? Please.”
Isagi glared at him, at that pretty, evil, gorgeous fucking face that could convince a person to jump of a bride if its owner put his mind to it. He brought his free hand up to rub his eyes, hoping that maybe he could clear his mind that way.
“If I agree, will you let go of my hand?”
“I’ll let it go if you say no too.”
UGH WHY IS HE PERFECT, HE EVEN RESPECTS BOUNDARIES WHAT THE FUCK.
“You know I’m not religious right, I mean I’m not a hard core atheist or anything but you won’t convert me.”
Yukimiya laughed at that, an actual laugh that had him smiling that perfect smile with his head thrown back. Isagi tried to look away, but ended up fixating on the betas neck instead. He shook his head, rubbing his eyes again. He must be getting tired.
“I have no interest in converting you, the last time I went on a date with a religious girl I actually felt like she was trying to convert me… mind you we were of the same faith.” He smiled, pulling on Isagi’s hand until it hovered just in front of his lips.
“So, will you agree to keep going on Real Fake dates with me?”
Isagi could feel the heat of Yukimiya's breath spreading from his hand to his face. He should say no, not only was this risky dating wise, it could also mess with his on the pitch performance. But when he looked at those damn crystal eyes his resolve crumbled like sand.
“Fine, but don’t expect me to suddenly give you all my attention. We’re still in the middle of NEL.”
Yuki didn’t care, instead he just smiled, kissing his now real date's hand, greedily drinking in the flush of his face before letting go.
Isagi went back to eating his cake, enjoying the now sweeter taste flooding his mouth as yukimiya smiled at him.
“You know you’re less of a gentleman than people think.” He playfully kicked the boy's shin.
“Oh? I think I’m doing pretty good. I think if this had started out as a normal real date you’d probably go and brag to all your friends about it.” He smirked back, lightly tapping Isagi’s foot back under the table.
“Tch, well I think you think too highly of yourself Yuki. Not only did you flirt with girls right in front of me, you also stole my first kiss on the same day. You’re just as cocky as most of the alphas In blue lock, maybe I should go cry to Bachira and Hiori.”
Yuki pretended to be offended, dramatically gasping. “Flirting?! You can’t accuse me of that and then name two other guys in the same sentence.”
“Two other guys that are just *friends*.” Yoichi smiled, laughing in a way yuki had come to miss in the past hour. “And that still doesn’t address the kiss, you didn’t even ask and it was my first!”
“First date and first kiss, sounds like I've scored two goals already tonight. Is this a roundabout way of asking for a hattrick?”
Yoichi burned redder than red tile on the cafe walls as he picked up his napkin to throw it at Yukimiya.
“I’m just kidding haha- wait don’t throw that”
The night faded away in giggles and banter as the two traded blows. By the time they left the cafe and made it back to the blue lock facility, Isagi had long since fallen asleep on the betas shoulder.
He didn’t complain though, instead carrying him inside until they were back where things began. The door to Isagi’s room.
Yukimiya shook the boy in his arms gently, coaxing him awake until he saw dark blue eyes blinking back at him. “You could have just woken me up in the car you know.”
“And let you walk on the gravel?”
“I get the feeling you just like the power of having my life in your hands. Playing god much?” Isagi stuck out his tongue as Yukimiya finally let his feet touch the ground again.
“Mmm, maybe a little bit.” He watched as Isagi used his fingerprint to open the door. Lucky omega, everyone else’s rooms stay unlocked at all times for safety purposes.
“Pft, checks out.” Isagi walked into the room before turning back to Yukimiya, expecting something, what he was looking for he wasn't sure.
Yuki seemed to know though, as he closed the distance between them, stopping just short of Isagi. “Can I kiss you this time?”
Yoichi nearly combusted into flames from the heat of the moment before leaning in.
The feeling of space meeting earth was enough confirmation for both as hands found waists and necks.
Isagi leaned into the steadiness of Yuki's hand on his cheek, tender and grounding as he reached up, wrists settling gently against the back of the brunette's neck.
The kisses were sweet at first, soft and virgin until Isagi made the mistake of smiling. A sense of relief flooded him like a river through a broken dam as he rubbed he scented Kanyu unabashedly. Unbenounsed to his inexperienced partner, the beta did know how to play this game.
One smile, a small gasp, that was all it took for him to deepen the kiss.
He drank the cute sounds of surprise Yoichi let slip until they couldn’t breathe, and then he indulged even more, losing himself to the sin of greed as his partners grabbed at the fabric of his shirt like a prayer.
When yuki decided to practice clemency again he pulled away just enough to enjoy the sight of the altar he’d made of yoichi. Flush face and breathless. He looked like an angel, maybe even a god.
“You look beautiful like this.” Was all he could say as he stared.
Isagi muttered something unintelligible under his breath, leaning into the space between shoulder and neck as he hugged yukimiya tightly.
“All this because of a stupid fake date.”
The taller laughed, petting soft blue hair.
“Yup, guess we should thank the higher ups. Oh and I scored that hat trick anyways… assuming that's your first french kiss.”
Isagi looked up indignantly, pushing the now laughing beta away as he retreated back into his room, “As if, hurry up and go to bed.”
The model smiled softly, nodding as he turned to walk down the hall. “You too, and fix your feet before sleeping.”
The two retreated into their own rooms, unaware of the upcoming interrogations they’d soon receive from teammates as a tsunami of candid pictures flooded the internet. Instead both fell onto their respective beds, immediately passing out to find dreams of each other in another world.
