Chapter 1: Akito's point of view

Chapter Text

It wasn't long after Vivid BAD SQUAD's disbandment. It absolutely shattered Akito. She knew she should keep singing, but she couldn't get herself to even get up and actually sing. It was like she was confined to her bed and couldn't leave. She felt like she was going insane. She needed it all to stop; for the thoughts in her head to slow down and quiet out instead of screaming in her skull.

They ended very messily, they all had messed up during a performance and Akito had snapped. She didn't mean to snap at them. They were the people most important to her, and she lost her shit at them. They were all just annoying her, how could they act like it's ok they messed up something like that? She shouldn't have snapped, but it pissed her off. She was the one to call it done. She felt bad; the look on all their faces. They were all too kind for their own good. An didn't even yell at her. It's not like An hasn't gotten pissed with her before, but she didn't this time. They all pitied her, and she hated that. She could see it in their faces before she stormed off.

"...-ito! Jesus christ how deaf are you?!" Akito jolted back to reality. It wasn't like Ena to be the one telling her dinner was ready, usually it was the other way around. She groaned and yelled back. "Dude, I'm coming! Chill!" She threw the door open aggressively and stomped downstairs to where her brother and parents were sitting at the dinner table, already eating. She flopped down and started eating, despite her father's harsh gaze.

"Not even gonna greet us?" He said coldly. Akito just yawned in response. She had learnt over the years that there really wasn't much point in arguing back with her father; he'd treat her like shit no matter what. She barely even felt like his daughter. Sure, Ena had his own rough relationship with their father but at least he acknowledged Ena as one of his children. Akito however, was more like a 'happy' accident. She was born on the 12th of November, just under 9 months from valentines day. She surely was an accident.
"You seriously are such an ungrateful girl. After everything we do for you-"
"Oh shut up! You haven't supported me in anything!" Akito snapped back. It really was no wonder that both herself and Ena clashed with their father so much, they were all equally as fiery.
"Oh please, what do you even do? You're barely home most days and when you are, you're all miserable!" He said back, his voice oddly calm.
"I already told you! I've been singing for the past couple of years...!" Her voice wavered at the end, the harsh truth of the past week crashing over her.
"You're seriously still doing that shit? Are you fucking serious?"
Akito lost it. She grabbed the nearby cup and threw it at her dad. It barely missed his head. Before he even had the chance to raise his voice, Akito sprinted out of the house.

She ran as fast as she could, basically until she collapsed on a sidewalk. Once she had gathered enough strength, she limped over to the park bench. She flopped onto it, just lying there; tears streaming down her face. She was so embarrassed about how much she was crying but she couldn't stop. It wasn't even really because of what her father said, She was just missing her group. She missed the warmth and the acceptance. She couldn't believe she snapped at them like that. Her phone was ringing like crazy. Probably from her brother. She didn't pick up, she just turned her phone on silent. She just wanted to go to sleep here, maybe someone would come and kill her while she's lying here... Until she heard her name being called.

She sat up, looking around. Her eyes were blurry and unfocused. She heard her name again... the voice was familiar. She looked around again before her eyes landed on An... She froze. She quickly rubbed her eyes, hoping An didn't notice she was crying. An noticed everything though so there really wasn't much point. When An reached Akito, she threw her arms around her.
"I'm so glad you're ok! Ena called me and he was really worried-" An rambled before she noticed Akito had burst into tears. "Oh Akito..."

-

An took Akito home with her, she had decided it would be best. An's father, Ken, was very nice and always treated An's friends like his own kids. She made sure Ena knew Akito was ok and that she was just gonna stay with her tonight. Akito was very quiet, she was really embarrassed about crying in front of An, even though she knew An wouldn't judge her for that. She barely even looked at An's parents as they greeted them both, she just quietly nodded. She was expecting a snarky reply but they didn't, they knew why Akito was so upset.

Akito followed An to her room. She was really embarrassed still. An just gently smiled and held her hands.
"Do you wanna take a bath? If you want I can..." An trailed off, blushing ever so slightly. Akito caught what she was trying to say and nodded almost automatically, immediately embarrassed by how fast she had nodded. An's eyes lit up immediately, she really wasn't slick.
"Oi, did you really wanna see me naked?" Akito joked, a small smile forming on her face. An didn't even protest.
"Maybeeee~" An didn't really have much shame, which always shocked Akito every time. Akito was so easily flustered, which, in her own opinion, was her worst quality. But to An? It was her best.
"Whatever... let's just get ready." Akito huffed as An nodded cheerfully and basically dragged her off to the bathroom.

Once the bathtub was full, Akito hesitated before getting undressed and quickly got in. It was very bubbly, so you wouldn't see anything below the water. Akito quietly leaned back, looking at An who was sitting across from her. An never judged her for anything. She was always shocked by how accepting An could be, because she herself was so judgmental. An was genuinely one of the sweetest girls in the world.
"...You're way too sweet." Akito mumbled, avoiding eye contact. "I really don't deserve you."
"Well you like sweets and stuff, right? Which means we are good for each other!" An beamed. Akito could be blinded by her smile.
"Yeah.. I guess..." She looked away, avoiding eye contact. She felt An shifting closer before kissing Akito's cheek. She went bright red and looked back at her. She was already leaning in slightly. "An..." She knew she shouldn't, but before she could over think too much, she kissed An on the lips.

She felt An's hands wander to her back, pulling her closer, like she was trying to merge them both together somehow. When they eventually pulled away, Akito looked into her eyes. They were so mesmerising... She was genuinely so in love with this girl, it made her heart flutter. She wanted to kiss her again, and again, and again...

Eventually, An helped Akito out of the bath. She wrapped a towel around her, prioritising Akito first like usual. Akito reached out for the pyjamas An had gotten ready for her. It An's clothes but they were both similar in size anyways so it didn't matter much. Once she had gotten changed, she followed An back to her bedroom. She was basically lost in An's scent. Everything that happened tonight and last week had left her mind, and she felt comfortable and calm.

They both climbed into bed, all previous embarrassment or shyness fading away. She wrapped her arms around An, hugging her like some teddy bear. An didn't mind at all, she hugged back. Both girls tangled in each other's embrace.
"I'm sorry for freaking out all of you..." Akito eventually spoke up. An shook her head. "Well, we all knew you didn't really mean it. Besides, you're ok now so that's all that matters." Akito's cheeks heated up. "...I don't actually want to leave Vivid BAD SQUAD.." She whispered.
"Of course... We'll always accept you, Aki." An smiled warmly. Akito buried her face in An's chest. "Thank you..."

And eventually, they lulled off to sleep, wrapped up in each other's arms.
