The Shark and a Hunter

Summary:

On the Day of Pittfest, all available surgeons are called in to help. Patients are being rushed to surgery, interns and admin are donating blood, and urgent cases are being rushed to the OR. When an arterial bleed sends Dr Hunter Harling running past Dr Brendon "The Shark" Park, It leaves quite the impression.

Dr Park soon finds himself with a very mutual crush on Vascular Surgeon and Fellow attending Dr Hunter Harling. What starts as friends, soon develops into more after a night of guards being down due to trauma, and soon blooms into something special, and after weeks of crushing and some liquid courage, a beautiful relationship soon forms. Our couple soon find themselves in the middle of hospital bureaucracy that sets off a chain of events that eventually culminates in a near death experience that almost parts the couple for good.

Notes:

Surprise it’s been 10 years since I’ve written a fanfic, still refuse to edit, not a virgin anymore, and took one look at Park the Shark and thought “wow smash”.

I love the concept of the Pitt taking place over one shift, but I’m also a Greys Anatomy lover. We all know the hospital is much bigger beast than one department, and each department has its own dramas and things to overcome. I started to work on my head canon, thinking about motivations and full personalities, and this story came to mind.

This story spans from Pittfest to the 4th of July with the characters from the show and my favourite ships popping in and out while I tell you this whole story I’ve conjured as a creative writing experience. I think while a first impression of a character on this show is so fun, but why are they like that, what’s going on in their lives, what workplace drama is occurring, are they getting after it etc. Also I think spinning off and exploring hospital admin is fun, and having our OCs meet the source material characters is just fun.

So, for the sake of my own enjoyment, please enjoy this series that spans 10 months between Pittfest and the 4th of July, and will include an epilogue at some point.

If you wanted some Park the Shark being down bad but still cold and grouchy, sometimes, here ya go. There’s probably some wild ass canon divergences, but what the rest of the hospital is doing isn’t really explored so I just had fun with it. Also I am so sorry, I am not a baby shark shipper and never will be. Maybe bc I am at a big age now but like I can't. Love our baby nurse but NOOOOOOOPPPPEEE.
