Chapter Text
It had been a few days since the war against AFO and the LOV. Izuku was laying in his hospital bed, resting from his injuries. He had sustained quite a few during the war and he now had more scars to add to his collection.
Katsuki had just come to see him with an unexpected reaction as he heard Izuku talk to All Might about the embers. To be honest Izuku was very shocked. He had never seen Katsuki so vulnerable before and it was strange to see someone so strong, breakdown right in front of him. He always admired Kacchan and these new emotions his friend had shown today and over the past few months, didn’t change how he saw his friend.
Katsuki stayed with Izuku and All Might for a while before the nurses dragged him back to his room. He really shouldn’t have been wondering around but Izuku was glad that he came. After the war and seeing his friends dead body and then seeing him alive again, he couldn’t help but think it was all a dream. It was hard to hear from others that Katsuki was safe, so seeing him face to face made him feel such relief.
“You have a great friend there, young Midoriya.” All Might said from the bed next to his.
“I do” Izuku said quietly with a smile.
Suddenly there was a loud crumbling sound coming from outside the room. They both turned to look at the doors before looking back at each other with confusion.
Screams and shouting could be heard in the hallway, making the hairs stand up on the back of Izuku’s neck.
A vibration rumbled through the room and everything shook slightly. Stray items slipped and fell into the floor around them.
“An earthquake?” The boy questioned.
“Maybe” All might replied, hoping that the worry wasn’t noticeable in his voice. He new that it was rare to have an earthquake in the area where the hospital was located and also years of fighting villains gave him a sense of things. Something was definitely wrong.
Izuku lifted away his blanket and hesitatingly got up out of the hospital bed. He walked slowly to the door, making sure to take his IV pole with him.
“Midoriya, don’t go anywhere, stay close”. All Might said, straining to sit up in his hospital bed, gripping the railings to help pull himself forward.
“Something doesn’t feel right”. The green haired boy said with worry as he tried to peer through the small window on the doors. He could see some people rushing past and more shouting but he still couldn’t make out what was happening.
His hand lifted slowly towards the door to push it open. He could feel the cold metal handle in his grip. He shifted his weight, about to pull on the handle when the floor below his bare feet began to crack. Izuku looked down at the crack flowing from the other side of the door and under his feet. It ran all the way to the other side of the room, before climbing roughly up the wall and spreading out in little shoots in various directions.
Izuku and All Might locked eyes.
“All Might?” He said quietly with confusion.
“Young Midoriya!” All Might called out, raising his hand to the boy.
Izuku felt the ground shift below him and he fell, his vision and hearing going blank in an instant.

Izuku’s senses came back slow and sluggish. He could feel that he was laying down and on something soft but firm. He started to shuffle in what he soon understands as a bed. The air around him felt cold, instead of the warmth he previously felt in the hospital. He shuffled again, trying to stir further. He noticed it was very quiet, extremely quiet. There was no beeping of machines or hissing of air coming out of a oxygen masks, it was eerily still and devoid of sound.
He slowly opened his eyes and turned his head to look at All Might who was laying next to him, only to find a wall in his place.
“What?” He whispered, brows furrowed with confusion. He looked around the room and it was completely bare, the only thing in it was the bed he was laying in. He sat up suddenly “It cracked. The room. I…I fell” he whispered as he remembered what had happened.
As he sat there, his attention shifted down at his arms and legs and noticed he was wearing a grey sweatpants and sweatshirt. Izuku pulled his sleeves up and searched for his recent injuries but there were none, which seemed impossible. He was in hospital for that exact reason. There were no cuts, no bandages, not even bruises. Only scars marking his skin.
Huh?
He lifted his hand to his face and felt the rough skin of his scar below his eye but it wasn’t sore. Neither were his arms, scars were visible but they were all completely healed.
“How long have I been out for?…” he mumbled to himself “…and where even am I?”
Izuku shifted his legs out over the side of the bed, before he carefully stood up and slowly walked over to the door, pulling the handle.
Nothing.
He tried again, pulling harder.
Still nothing. “Locked” he said.
He lifted his hand and thumped his palm against the door a few times. “Hello?” He called out.
He stood there confused and trying to understand why he was locked in a room but after a few minutes, he heard movement from behind the door and the sound of a key unlocking it. He stepped back a few paces, getting ready for whatever was behind the door. His eyes focused and mind ready.
The door slowly opened. A woman in a white lab coat stood in the doorway. As she took a step into the room, Izuku took a step back, trying to keep the distance between them. He still felt uneasy and without knowing the exact details of what occurred in the hospital, he felt it was better to be safe than sorry.
“Hello Midoriya” the woman said flatly.
Izuku scanned behind her and could see a man standing there with his arms crossed. He was very large and not in the I’ve eaten a lot, kind of way. More of the, I work out every day, kind of way.
“Who are you?”
“I’m Dr Agatsuma”. The woman said, shifting to lean on the frame of the door.
A Dr? Izuki questioned in his thoughts. Even though she stated she was a Dr, this didn’t mean she wasn’t someone hostile or that he was somewhere safe. Dr Garaki came to mind instantly and he wasn’t at all what you would call, a Dr whose goal was the healing of others. His experiments where inhumane to say the least.
She noticed the boys eyes on the man behind her “Don’t worry, he won’t come in here unless he needs to” she stated softly but with a hint of warning.
“Where am I?” Izuku questioned, looking back at the Dr.
“Your in a hospital. Do you remember what happened?”
Izuku felt something was wrong. This didn’t feel like a hospital at all. There were no equipment or machines that were normally found in a hospital room and why was the door locked? The overall atmosphere felt tense and hostile.
“Where is All Might and my friend Kacchan?” Izuku decided to ask his own question instead and the one thing that he couldn’t stop worrying about after he woke up in this strange place.
The Drs eyes squinted slightly. “I don’t know where All Might is and Ba-”
“What do you mean you don’t know? They were patients at the same hospital I was at” Izuku interrupted quickly, not wasting any time. His eyes glanced over her shoulders again, wondering if he could actually leave the room or whether he was being held here. His breathing became faster with the adrenaline he was feeling as the latter became more apparent.
Dr Agatsuma took a step forward, extending her hands up in surrender to deter the friction between them “Don’t try anything, Midoriya”
He couldn’t stop thinking and taking in details of their movements. Months of training at UA and fighting in a war taught him to read every situation closely. Izuku didn’t want a fight, he just wanted some answers and he desperately wanted out of this room. His urgency became more and more until he couldn’t stand it anymore.
He rushed forward, calling on his quirk and black whip to help him push past the two figures in his way and find out exactly what was going on.
What?!
His quirk didn’t activate and Izuku hesitated just a moment, but in those few second of hesitation the man stepped into the room and was now blocking the doorway. Izuku didn’t stop. Something was going on with his quirk, it wasn’t responding to him anymore but that was a thought for later. Right now, he needed to get out of this room.
Izuku kept up his pace and dropped suddenly, sliding across the floor under the man’s arms as they extended to grab at him. He managed to make it out of the room. when his slide came to a halt, he got up and ran. He didn’t care which direction he chose when he left the room, he had no time to stop and figure it out, so he picked from pure guesswork and ran as fast as he could.
This could all be just a huge misunderstanding but until he was sure, moving and getting out of the building was his best option.
He could hear shouting from behind him and before he could get to the end of the hallway, two more men stood in his way. Izuku skidded to a halt and weighed up his options. He looked behind him to see if he could make his way back down the corridor and past the room he just escaped from but the man and Dr were already making their way towards him.
Izuku’s breathing was heavy and he was looking around at everything, trying to find something to use as a weapon to protect himself from these people who seemed so adamant to capture him again.
There was nothing he could use, the hallways were completely bare. He looked back down at his hands and willed OFA to show itself but again.
Nothing.
The two men in front of him and the two people behind slowly closed the gap. I’m not going out without a fight Izuku thought, bracing himself and his firsts in tight balls. He scanned the area once more and decided that the Dr and man would be the better option for getting away. Without his quirk he has to rely on his strength alone.
Without a warning he charged at them, hoping that he wouldn’t have to fight, that he could just slip past like before.
“What do you want?” Izuku asked loudly, giving them one last chance to give him answers as he continued to dart towards them. When no reply came, he continued with his plan.
He saw an opening and nearly made his way past them, but before he could the man grabbed his arm and yanked him back roughly and onto the floor with a loud thump, placing his other hand on Izuku’s chest to hold him down.
Izuku wriggled around under the man’s hold but it was no use, he was just too strong for Izuku to break free. He grabbed at the man’s arm with his free hand to try and break free of the hold on his chest but to no avail.
“Get off me!.” He shouted.
Before he could figure out what to do next, Izuku felt a cold pinch in his neck. He didn’t have time to work out what it was whist still trying to loosen the grip. It felt like an eternity of struggling before Izuku could see dark patches in his vision, but he maintained his movements to try get free.
His vision started to blur more and he could feel his muscles start to weaken. The panic was all too real now as his struggling became pointless. The man was just too strong for him to overpower not matter how hard he tried.
Izuku’s body slowly relaxed without him wanting it too and his hand that was gripping at the man’s arm, on his chest, fell away to his side. He tried to lift it back up but it wouldn’t move, nothing moved, his body went completely slack.
“What…what did y…you do t-to me?” Izuku tried to speak but he struggled to form words, his mouth not moving how he wanted it to.
Izuku’s breathing slowed uncomfortably. He was panicked and trying to fight mentally but his body was doing the complete opposite and it felt unbearable. It became harder for him to concentrate and maintain any thoughts and his eyes grew increasingly heavy. It took more effort to open them after every blink, as he tried to fight the feeling and keep himself conscious.
“No…stop…plea…se…” Izuku slurred, he could hear a faint sound of someone talking but in his fogginess he couldn’t work out what was being said. Whatever she had injected into him had done it’s job and he was soon surrounded in darkness as he fell unconscious.

Izuku woke up groggily and realised he was back in the bed. He sat up and rubbed his eyes and took in his surroundings. He felt a dull ache on his neck from where they injected him and he lowered his hand to rub it.
Izuku seemed to be back in the same room he started at. He got up and unsteadily made his way to the door, almost falling in the process, the drug not completely out of his system. Once he got to the door he tried to open it. He new it was going to be locked like before but he wanted to try anyway.
Worth a shot.
After confirming that the door, was in fact, locked and because his head was thumping, he slowly made his way back to the bed and sat upon it, leaning his back against the cold wall. A lot had happened since he woke up the first time and he never really got the chance to think about it all. All he was sure was that this definitely wasn’t a place he wanted to be in.
‘What the hell is going on?” He asked himself, trying to recall the last moments before he woke up here the first time. The ground cracking under his feet and him falling into darkness. “Also, why isn’t my quirk activating?” He looked down at his scarred hands and tried again to access his power. Izuku only had embers left after the war but even so, he new he should still have access to it for a while.
The door to the room he was being kept in suddenly unlocked. His body became tense and he jumped up from the bed and made his way, wobbly, to the furthest wall. If he was going to have to defend himself, he wanted as much space between him and the door as possible so he had time to make a quick plan.
The door slowly opened and Izuku got ready, full of determination.
A blond haired boy made his way through the door and it closed behind him.
“Kacchan?” Izuku said shocked at who he was seeing.
“Izuku” The boy called back. They both made their way to the middle of the room, not looking away from each other.
“Are you okay?”
“M’fine” Katsuki said with his casual scowl, looking over his friend. “You good?”
“Eh, yeah, I-I’m fine”
Katsuki nodded in response, looking around the room.
“Where are we? Who are these people?” Izuku asked, hoping Katsuki would have more answers than himself.
“Villains” Katsuki replied, his brows furrowed, looking back at his friend. “Something happened at the hospital and then I woke up here. I’m not sure where we are but I overheard the bastards say they want us for information”
“Information?”
“So we can’t tell them anything, nerd”
“Yeah I know, I won’t say anything!”
“You better keep your mouth shut!” The blond warned.
“Kacchan, I will! A-anyway have you seen anyone else?”
“No, you’re the only one I’ve seen. Which probably means they are going to pull the same shit they did during the war-”
“They’re going to use us against each other” Izuku interrupted. He slowly walked backwards towards the wall, keeping his gaze fixed on Katsuki as he slid his back down it to sit on the floor. With the drug still not completely gone, he still felt a little weak.
Katsuki scanned his friend with suspicion on how sluggish he was moving but chose not to say anything, he followed to sit beside him against the wall instead. “Tch, yeah. I don’t know how long I have in here before the assholes drag me out, so we need to come up with a plan”
“Well, I-I tried to leave but they just injected me with something to knock me out” Izuku said quietly, looking down at his hands in his lap, knowing he was about to get yelled at for being so stupid.
“You idiot!” Katsuki snapped, swinging his head round to glare at Izuku.
And there it was. His friend snapping made Izuku feel better about the situation, in a strange way.
Izuku already felt embarrassed about it so chose to side step the conversation onto something else. “Is your quirk working?”
“You think I’m stupid, I tried that already” Katsuki spat, shaking his head at Izuku’s attempt at avoiding his mistake of getting caught.
Actually, maybe Izuku was premature with his previous statement. This didn’t make him feel better at all.
“R-right! Of course you did, s-sorry”
“I think we should just bide our time for a while. I’m sure there are people out looking for us, so as long as we keep our mouthes shut, and don’t do any stupid shit, we can hold out and I’m talking about you dumbass”
“Kacchan!” Izuku pouted, looking back at red eyes. “I-I can keep my mouth shut, no problem! and I only tried to get out because I thought I had a chance”
“And how did that work out for you, huh? Don’t fuck this up!”
“I-I won’t!”
The door unlocked again and opened slightly. A signal that it was time to leave. Katsuki slowly rose from the floor and made his way to the door. He glared at Izuku one last time before leaving the room.
Izuku was alone again but this time he had more information about what they wanted.
He sighed before gradually standing up and leaning against the wall a moment, mumbling to himself before moving away and pacing the room.
“Kacchan said they wanted information. Information about what? Has it got something to do with the war? Is this a new group of villains we didn’t know about? If I wait it out until they start asking questions, maybe then I’ll start to understand their motive”. His head was still groggy from the drug and now thanks to his own rambling he now had a headache.
He sighed again and made his way to the bed. He laid down sluggishly and stared up at the ceiling.
“I hope Kacchan’s alright” he whispered. Thinking back, Izuku noticed that Kacchan’s wounds had healed and he hated that he hadn’t asked him about those too. The fact both of their injuries had completely healed made him worry.
“If we have been here long enough for our wounds to heal, why hasn’t anyone come for us?”. He let out yet another deep sigh and rolled onto his side “I can’t think like that. They will come, they will get us out”
Izuku was starting to feel tired, his headache was making him even more groggy. He tried to move and sit up to no avail. He didn’t want to sleep, sleeping meant he was vulnerable and without someone else here with him to back him up, he needed to be alert at all times.
“Maybe I could just, lay here a little” He said, relenting to his body’s unwillingness to move. It wasn’t long before his eyes grew heavy and before he could regain control and keep his eyes open, his drowsiness won and sleep took over fast.

The loud sounds of the door unlocking startled Izuku awake and he sat up alert and ready to move. The door opened slightly and a pair of hands pushed a plate and cup just Inside the door before it closed and locked again.
Izuku’s stomach growled at the sight of the food and his mouth became increasingly dry. He was so thirsty and hungry but he wasn’t about to blindly trust what they were giving him.
What if they’ve put something in it? Something to make our quirks stop working. He thought. Izuku new he had to eat and drink eventually and to keep his strength up so he could eventually escape with Katsuki, but he also didn’t want to ingest anything…unknown.
He stared at the plate and cup for a long time before deciding he wouldn’t touch it.
Nope.
He was hungry but he new he could cope with a skipped meal or two without loosing much of his strength. He wasn’t about to break now and play into their hands and maybe this way, he would eventually gain access to his quirk again.
Izuku relaxed back onto the wall, resting against the cold tiles. He took this time to really take in the details of the room or as much as he could whist still seated. He got up from the bed and walked around the perimeter of the room, looking closely at every detail and especially the lights above him and any holes or small spaces, to see if they were monitoring him in the room.
After a few circles of the horribly bright white room, he found nothing. No suspicious marks or hidden cameras, not that he could see anyway, and nothing out of the ordinary. The room was completely clean and avoid of any type of loose materials. No pieces or metal or anything discarded and forgot about. Even under the bed was completely clean and even dust free.
Izuku slumped back down onto the floor, leaning against the cold wall, furthest from the door. He was sure this room was going to drive him crazy before the villains had a chance too. The room wasn’t freezing but it had a chill to it that made it surprisingly uncomfortable. The bare walls left nothing to concentrate on and without any windows or clock, the time was a complete mystery. All Izuku could possible do in this room was worry about what was happening to Katsuki, and how they were going to get out.
The lights to the room darkened to only a small shimmer. It started Izuku and he stood up and looked around the room as his eyes slowly adjusted to the change in lighting.
Great. This was definitely not creepy at all.
He blinked a few times and as his eyes settled, he could still see slight outlines of the corners of the walls and the bed frame. Izuku was quite happy for the fact the lights hadn’t darkened completely. If they had, he was sure it would be more nerve wracking and drive him insane faster.
“At least I can still walk around and keep myself awake.” he whispered. He was not planning on falling asleep again. He needed to think. Think about how they were going to make it out. He had already tried to escape so he new roughly what they would do next time if it came time to make a run for it.
Izuku had Katsuki’s words etched in his mind though…
…don’t do anything stupid…
”Right!” He said. “I can’t make a move for a while, they will be expecting that. I’ll have to wait a little longer and figure out what they want and the routines they have. That’s the best option” he mumbled to himself.
He got back up from the floor and decided to walk around the room again to keep himself moving and busy. He made a plan to do this every now and then to stop himself from sleeping. He spent the rest of the night walking around but also sitting and resting too, to keep his energy up. At least until the lights came back on, which he presumes would be in the morning. Right?

The lights of the room lit up in an instant and it made Izuku wince at the pain as the light hit his eyes without warning. He lifted his hands to his face and blinked through the sting until his eyes adjusted. “A little warning would’ve been nice” he mumbled in frustration as he was sitting against the wall on the floor again.
It wasn’t long before he could hear people walking past his door. Izuku was making sure to listen carefully at the movements and to which direction they were moving. It might have been useless information to try and remember, but it might come in handy to learn routines.
As he listened to one set of footsteps, he heard them come to a halt outside the door. A short moment passed before the door began to unlock and open slightly. There was a few seconds of what seemed to be hesitation, before a new plate and cup where slid onto the floor and the pair of hands leant in further to grab the old, still full, plate and cup. The door slowly closed and locked again.
Wonderful. More food to make his stomach growl.
Izuku stood up and walked closer to the new food he was given to see what delights they had served him this morning. There were a couple of slices of plain toast and cup full of orange liquid which he could only presume as orange juice.
He turned and walked towards the bed and laid down, staring at the ceiling, trying to forget the freshly made food on the floor. He wasn’t about to cave and give in. Not yet anyway.
“I can go without another meal.” he said to himself as his stomach growled and pained slightly at the thought of the food, but he was determined to push the feeling aside for now. He wondered if Katsuki was eating and drinking what he had been given or whether he too, wasn’t touching it.
The possibility of not seeing his friend again for a while dawned on him. Allowing them to meet the first time was more than likely to allow them both to understand that they were trapped here together and that any attempt at not doing what the villains wanted, would result in one or both of them getting hurt.
Izuku was trapped in his thoughts for a long time before the door to the room unlocked once again and he soon found himself hating that sound. The sounds of the unknown and anxiety of what was going to happen once the door opened. Would it be food, Katsuki, the Dr, or someone else? He quickly stood up and made his way to the furthest wall.
The Dr, now standing in the doorway, took a couple steps forward, making sure to look down at the plate of untouched food on the floor. “Not eating?” She asked and she lifted her gaze towards the boy.
Her question made a cold sensation run down Izuku’s back. The thought that someone who had kidnapped him and was holding him here could ask such a puzzling question. Of course he wasn’t going to eat it, he wasn’t that naive to accept their ‘hospitality’ so casually. This also made him think that these villains adding something into the food or drink to prevent their quirks from activating, more realistic. Why would they be concerned about him not eating unless they needed him to?
He stayed silent, glancing over her shoulder as he did before, only to see the man from before standing in the doorway.
“Come with me, Midoriya.” She demanded before turning on her heals and exiting the room.
Izuku watched the man in the doorway step aside but never looking away from him. He stared daggers at the boy as an almost threat of, try something and you’ll regret it. Izuku hesitated before slowly making his way out of the room. Complying with them worked both ways. It not only allowed the villains to possibly get what they wanted but it also allowed him to gather his own information.
Another two men were positioned in the hallway and as he stepped forward to follow the Dr, the man standing at the door followed close behind, practically breathing down Izuku’s neck.
He kept his head low but made sure to look around and take note of his surroundings. This was a great opportunity to figure out what this place was and who was in it. As Izuku walked, he took note of doors lining the hallway.
The doors were identical to his own, they had a no windows or any way to look through them other than a peep hole about half way down.
Maybe Kacchan is behind one of these doors Izuku thought. This made his spine run cold. Maybe his friend was closer than he thought, but he needed to know exactly which door he was in if they were going to make an escape. He couldn’t exactly take his time and open each one if he every had the chance.
Katsuki obviously already new where Izuku’s door was but the opposite wasn’t true. If Izuku had a chance to make it out, he definitely wouldn’t leave without his friend.
His thoughts diverted to his other friends of UA and All Might. What if they are in these rooms too? Izuku wanted so badly to break each door down to check. He new Katsuki was here but what about everyone else? Where the all safe or stuck here too? Before he could think any more on the matter, the Dr standing at a door at the end of the hallway came into view. She paused, her hand at the handle of a door, looking at Izuku before making her way in and leaving the door open, signalling for him to follow.
Izuku paused in the hallway facing the open room. He wanted to work out what was in the room before surrendering himself to it. It was a brightly lit room but not as bright and white as his room was. It was almost…cozy, if it wasn’t for the fact he was being kept here against his will.
A hand landed on Izuku’s back and he was harshly shoved into the room, stumbling and almost falling forward. He tuned around to look at the man but the door closed quickly in his face. Izuku looked back around to the open room and saw the Dr had already sat herself at the desk positioned at one side of the room.
She gestured for him to sit but he maintained standing by the door watching her every move.
“Sit” she said firmly and loud.
It made an uneasy feeling flow through Izuku. Although he wanted to fight and protest until the bitter end, Katsuki was here and possibly his other friends too. He new he needed to be tactful in this situation and do what they said, even if it was against what he wanted to do.
Izuku slowly walked forward and gingerly sat on the chair opposite her, on the other side of the table. The Dr had made sure to take the chair closest to the door so his only option was the chair furthest away, trapping him between her and the wall behind him. He made sure to pull the chair out further than he normally would, and to sit on the very edge so if he needed to, he could get up and move instantly without anything getting in his way.
