By the sea

Summary:

Naruto is determined to work under Professor Uchiha. Sasuke is far too busy to take on a student.

Of course, Naruto is not one to give up.

Notes:

This is tagged as mildly dubious consent because Sasuke is not good at expressing himself and Naruto is a little pushy but he does want it.

Thesis and research are different everywhere. I chose the most standardized/convenient ways for the story so I hope you’re not too bothered if you see any inaccuracies.

This is just a story, don’t date your professors/students irl yada yada.

Chapter Text

“I just got home,” Naruto said, his shoulder pinning his phone as he pushed the door open.

“It was good to see you kid,” Jiraiya’s voice came from the other end. “Remember, you can always use your connections. Don’t be scared to mention me.”

As if that’d make a difference with him, Naruto thought. “Sure grandpa,” he replied, knowing he was irked by the nickname. “I’ll let you know how it goes.”

He released the call, walking into the apartment. Akamaru was barking from Kiba’s room but the other alpha was quick to shush him. The apartment was dark, and his roommates were likely asleep.

Naruto tiptoed through the hall until he reached his room. It was just as he’d left it, with books spread over the desk and his bed neatly made. Naruto collapsed into it. He wished he’d come home earlier but he’d linger with Jiraiya for too long and ended up taking the last train.

It wasn’t often that they got to see each other. Jiraiya was always traveling somewhere and Naruto was busy with school. When their schedules finally aligned, Naruto got to spend two weeks with his godfather, just before he started class.

He set up his alarm early. If he wanted to get Sasuke Uchiha as his thesis advisor, he’d have to make an effort. The guy had a tough reputation but Naruto was determined to work with him. It was the only reason why he’d chosen this school in the first place.

Naruto flipped over with a sigh. He already had a feeling this wouldn’t be easy.

*

Finding Professor Uchiha wasn’t too hard. His office hours were listed in his email signature, and when Naruto arrived, he found the door already open.

He didn’t see him at first. The room was large, lined wall to wall with tightly packed bookshelves. The few empty spaces were filled with neatly arranged diplomas. His desk was in the center of the room, but the man seemed to blend with the background. When Naruto did spot him, he couldn’t look away.

Naruto had seen his picture online but it did him no justice. The professor sat behind his desk, gaze lowered to his computer. His black hair was down to his shoulders, covering half of his face. Most surprisingly, the room was filled with a gentle omega scent.

Naruto snapped out of it and knocked on the open door. “Professor Uchiha?” he called.

The omega raised his face, blinking his dark eyes at him. He was ridiculously handsome.

Naruto cleared his throat. “My name’s Naruto Uzumaki. I’m starting my master’s this term and I wanted to talk to you about supervising my thesis.”

Sasuke looked back at his computer and said, “I'm not taking students at the moment.”

“I’m aware, but if you could hear me out,” Naruto insisted.

Sasuke kept typing. “Please send an email.”

“I already did,” Naruto mumbled.

“What did it say?” Sasuke asked, exhaling.

“That you’re not taking students.”

“Then that’s your answer.”

Naruto invited himself into the office and took a seat in front of him. “Please, you’re the best of the best! You’re my number one choice.”

“Then go with number two.”

“Your work on energy transfer under high-impact conditions is exactly what I want to build on. I didn’t come here for anyone else,” Naruto replied, almost pleading. “Won’t you take a look at my framework?”

Sasuke raised an eyebrow. “You have one already?”

Naruto nodded. He had taken advantage of his time with Jiraiya and asked him for help with a draft. He took his bag off and reached inside it.

Then, an alarm cut through the room. Sasuke opened a drawer without a word, took out a small pill case, and swallowed something dry before silencing it.

“What was-” Naruto asked.

Sasuke’s face was stoic. “Your framework?”

“Right, um,” he placed a folder over the desk and added, “My master’s is in automotive design. I’m making my thesis on energy distribution upon impact for high-speed crashes. I would like to work on car designs to minimize injury.”

The professor glanced at the folder. “Have you taken a class with me?”

“Not yet,” Naruto replied, smiling sheepishly. “But I’ve read your papers. Your thermodynamics work-” He huffed a small laugh. “Honestly, it’s kind of insane.”

If Sasuke was flattered by this, he didn’t show it.

Naruto continued, “Could you take a look? Please?”

Reluctantly, he nodded.

Naruto took that as his cue and stood, heading for the door. “Thank you. I’ll be in your class this semester. I’m looking forward to it,” he gave him a wide smile and left.

That was more or less what he’d expected. It was not a yes but Naruto was feeling great anyway. He didn’t bother to speak with other professors, as he fully intended to have Professor Uchiha involved. Now, he just wanted to prove to him how much he meant it.

*

It wasn’t the first time Sasuke had rejected a student. He did it often enough these days that he didn’t bother checking the young alpha’s thesis. It was obvious that he’d be brilliant but that was the base requirement to enter the school. Sasuke slipped the folder back into the drawer and went back to replying to his emails.

Normally, the students would reluctantly accept that he would not supervise him and stop bugging him. That wasn’t the case with Naruto.

The next morning, Naruto showed up with coffee. It meant he barely made it on time to his class but he arrived before Sasuke closed the door. He stood in front of him, smiling, and offered him a steaming cup

“Good morning, Professor! I brought you some coffee,” Naruto said.

Sasuke ignored it and replied, “I don’t drnk caffeine.”

Naruto hesitated before pulling the cup back and going to his seat.

“No drinking in class,” Sasuke noted, before starting his lesson.

Since it was the first class of the term, Sasuke started with a quick introduction of himself and his class. After he’d gone over this, he assigned the students a workshop. He let his students know that this would not count for their grade and it was merely for him to assess their level.

Most of his students kept focused expressions, a few of them stared at the page in horror. It was a difficult test, not meant to be passed. Sasuke was more interested in their processes than anything. He kept a close eye on all of the students, watching them as they scribbled hurriedly.

By the end of the class, his students left their tests on his desk on their way out. Sasuke was making a note on his calendar to go over their work when someone stopped in front of him.

“Hi Professor,” Naruto said, grinning.

“Yes?”

“That was pretty tough.”

“It’s not a test,” Sasuke replied. “I need to know where you’re lacking so we can build from there.”

“Right! Makes sense,” Naruto nodded, unfazed. “You’re a popular teacher, you know.”

Sasuke raised an eyebrow. Popular? His students might praise his teaching but he wouldn’t say that they liked him.

When he didn’t reply, Naruto continued, “Well, Professor, I’ll see you around!”

And just like that, he was gone. Sasuke’s gaze drifted briefly to the hall and saw Naruto drinking the cup he’d brought him, now disgustingly cold.

What an odd kid, Sasuke thought.

Since he had time before his next class and since the classroom was empty, he took the chance to go over the workshop.

It was mostly what he expected. Some common mistakes, a handful of unfinished exercises, nothing too terrible, all manageable. He made quick correction notes and moved on to the next test. Sasuke did it mechanically; his eyes went over the responses but this particular test needed no corrections. It was the first time he’d seen such a thing since Kabuto. He quickly turned the page to read the student’s name.

Uzumaki Naruto

Huh, curious. Maybe he wasn’t just trying to flatter Sasuke and was really into thermodynamics. That wouldn’t change Sasuke’s mind anyway.

As if to prove his interest in working with Sasuke, in the next class, Naruto arrived early, holding a paper bag.

“I figured since you don’t like caffeine, I’d bring you some cake!” Naruto said.

Once again, Sasuke dismissed him. “I don’t eat sugar,” he said. “Please don’t bring me things. I am not available to supervise your thesis.”

Naruto’s shoulders slacked. He nodded anyway and went straight for his seat.

“And Naruto-”

“No eating in class. I know!” the alpha replied.

Despite himself, Sasuke smiled. There was something charming about the kid.

It wasn’t just his cheerful personality. With every class, he proved himself to be extremely competent, even more so than his peers. Kabuto mentioned it too when he was helping Sasuke grade worksheets.

“He is the top of his class,” Kabuto said. “He might be a good candidate to be your assistant when I graduate.”

They were in Sasuke’s office. Kabuto stopped by whenever he asked him for help. The sunlight came in through the windows, illuminating the large desk they shared.

Sasuke hummed. “I would rather ask someone else. He asked me to supervise his thesis and I don’t want to give him any hope.”

Kabuto chuckled. “Happens to all of us,” he said. “I did some research about him. Do you know who he is?”

Sasuke watched him curiously. It wouldn’t be the first time one of his students had strong connections or whose parents made sizeable donations to the school.

When he didn’t reply, Kabuto continued, “He is…nobody. His recommendation letter was from Jiraiya so I thought he might be someone’s son but nope. Just him and his impressive grades.”

“Jiraiya, you said? I don’t think you get a recommendation like that just because.”

“No clue. I didn’t get to see the recommendation letter,” Kabuto shrugged. “It seems to me he is clever enough to get one. Did he say what his thesis was about?”

Sasuke’s lips pressed into a thin line. He didn’t remember and he hadn’t checked the framework either.

Kabuto chuckled. “I know you’re busy, Professor. If Naruto has not chosen a supervisor yet, I would like you to recommend me.”

That made Sasuke pull back. Kabuto was helpful but he wasn’t without his interests. Normally, when he offered himself for something, it meant he thought there was something he could gain from it. It was possible now that he saw potential in Naruto.

“I’ll let him know,” Sasuke said.

After Kabuto left, he did read Naruto’s framework. It was mostly out of curiosity, and while it was a rough draft, it was clear Naruto had a good idea of what he wanted to do. Sasuke found himself nodding along and getting more interested in his work.

Maybe…

No. Sasuke slacked back into his office chair. He raised his gaze and saw his calendar. There was one mark a few weeks ahead that read ‘extraction’ and another one, even later, that read ‘implantation’.

He was exhausted. The procedures were uncomfortable, sometimes painful, but by far the worst of it was the mental toll. Sasuke had learned not to raise his hopes. It was shameful how desperate he was. Shouldn’t someone like him be content? He had a good job, a house for himself, he’d pursue his education and he had a stable, comfortable life…

Sasuke watched the diplomas on the wall, feeling a hole in his chest. It couldn’t be helped, it was the only thing he wanted. It was often the case for those who had no one. Building a home was more important than any accomplishment.

With a shake of his head, Sasuke stood up and reached for his coat. Maybe getting some sleep would help him feel better.

*

Naruto stood in line at a cafe, thinking about what to get. Either his professor didn’t accept things from his students, or he had the world’s most strict diet.

He wasn’t trying to buy Sasuke off, he just…wanted to get along better with his professor and hopefully have him supervise his thesis.

…Okay, maybe he was trying to buy Sasuke. So what? It’s not like it was working anyway. His professor had a face that seemed carved out of marble but had the same number of expressions.

He felt a little defeated but still decided to keep trying. So he showed up once again, early to class, with a warm cup in his hand.

“Good morning, Professor!” he said. “I got you-”

Immediately, Sasuke opened his mouth to argue but Naruto beat him to it. “It’s an herbal infusion! No sugar, no caffeine, right?”

Sasuke watched the cup for a moment before sighing and accepting the cup. “Thank you.”

One point for Naruto. Time to try his luck.

“Did you maybe get a chance to look at my framework?” he asked.

Sasuke gave him a small nod and replied, “Stay after class.”

Beaming, Naruto went to his seat. The classroom quickly filled in and Sasuke started his lesson. Professor Uchiha became a different person while teaching. His normal, reserved tone changed and he showed what an eloquent speaker he was. Even the hardest subjects were understandable when he taught them.

It would have been easier if Naruto had been focused, but that was the only problem with the class…the Professor was so beautiful it was distracting. Watching him speak inevitably meant looking at his pink lips, looking up meant seeing his piercing dark eyes and if he lowered his gaze, all he saw was his slender body and the way his hips moved when he walked.

Naruto thought that smart people couldn’t be beautiful and vice versa. It was kind of unfair that Professor Uchiha existed. Sure he was a little cold but no one was perfect anyway.

It was an effort to stay focused and advanced thermodynamics was not something that you could half-ass. So he tried, really tried, to listen to what he was saying. Naruto was pleased to watch Sasuke take sips of his drink throughout the class.

Two points for Naruto; he was on a streak today.

Naruto jumped off his seat once the class had ended. The rest of his classmates made their way outside while he waited for the professor.

Sasuke waited until everyone had left before finally speaking.

“I reviewed your framework,” he said.

Because smart, beautiful people said things like reviewed, Naruto thought.

“Are you sure you can defend it?” Sasuke continued. “Your argument could be taken as placing responsibility on vehicle design for injury outcomes. That won’t go unchallenged.”

“I’m not trying to blame anything,” Naruto said quickly. “I want to improve the design so that accidents aren’t fatal.”

Sasuke hummed. “Good. Then you’ll need to be precise.”

“So when can we go over it?” Naruto asked. “I’ve already started-”

“As I’ve mentioned before, I am not taking students,” Sasuke interrupted. “But I can recommend someone for you. He is my current assistant and a bright physicist.”

Naruto frowned. “No. I already told you. I came here to work with you.”

“I’m afraid that won’t be possible.”

“Why not?” Naruto argued.

Calmly, Sasuke replied, “There’s a…probability that I won’t be here by the end of your program.

Naruto’s eyes widened. “Are you dying?” he asked bluntly.

“No, but I might have to take a prolonged leave.”

Naruto’s eyes searched his face as if that would give him an answer. Just what was wrong with him?

“I’m sorry, Professor. Is your health compromised?” Naruto asked, trying to match Sasuke’s tone.

“I’m fine but it’s a long story,” Sasuke replied. “The reason why I don’t take students is that it’s difficult for me to anticipate my future circumstances. If I have to leave, you’ll have to change advisors. I don’t know if this will be halfway through the year or a month before you defend your thesis.”

“But you…may not leave?” Naruto probed.

There was a pause. Then Sasuke sighed, his shoulders tensing. “I may not,” he muttered.

“So it’s a fifty-fifty chance that you’ll leave before the year ends?”

Sasuke’s mouth turned into a fine line. He seemed annoyed by the question. “Maybe lower than that.”

Naruto did not understand why that would hold him back. “Then I’ll take the risk,” he said. “If I have to switch later, I will. But I want you as my advisor.”

Sasuke didn’t reply. His pale skin almost seemed to glow, his hair sleek and dark, but despite his careful appearance, he looked tired.

“I won’t be much trouble,” Naruto added. “We can work around your times, whenever you’re available. Just- please?”

Sasuke glanced at the calendar on his wall, then back at Naruto. He sighed and finally said, “It’s only temporary,” he conceded. “When I leave, you’ll need to change advisors.”

Naruto opened his mouth, but instead of speaking, he stepped forward and wrapped his arms around his professor, hugging him and covering his body. “Thank you so much, Professor! You won’t regret this, I promise!”

Sasuke pressed both hands to his chest and pushed him away. “Don’t do that again. I’ll send you my calendar via email. Choose an empty slot and come to my office when you can, okay?”

Naruto nodded excitedly. He was already looking forward to it. “I’ll show you what I’ve worked on so far. See you soon!”

He gave Sasuke one last glance before walking out. Before their next meeting, he needed to prove to Sasuke that he wouldn’t regret taking him on. So he went home, organized the work he had already done, and started working on his arguments.

*

More than a student, Naruto was like a tick.

Sasuke’s schedule was tight. He taught classes every day, was constantly asked to review papers, and there was always a student looking for him. There were only a few gaps in his schedule, but every time one appeared, Naruto filled it.

He was so ridiculously optimistic and hardworking that it was difficult not to like him. They spent entire afternoons going over his work. Sasuke had many corrections to make, and every time, the alpha simply nodded and adjusted accordingly.

Sasuke had thought he would regret agreeing to supervise Naruto’s thesis, but to his surprise, he welcomed the distraction.

As the weeks went by and Sasuke got closer to the extraction and implantation, he became even busier. On top of his work, he had multiple appointments and tests. Things he had done before, but that had to be repeated every time regardless.

He’d wake up in the morning and inject himself in the stomach. Hormones, meant to trick his body into preparing for a heat. They gave him terrible mood swings. One moment he felt soft, almost hopeful; the next, painfully lonely. It was a constant battle between anticipation and the quiet dread that this would be another failed attempt.

Inevitably, he would return home to his empty, cold bed. If that was the alternative, he might as well stay late after class, working with Naruto. At least it wasn’t silent.

They sat in Sasuke’s office. It was almost dark at that point but they continued working.

“I think it would be helpful if you included a few luxury models in your thesis,” Sasuke noted. “It would make your work more appealing when you apply for jobs.”

Naruto raised his arms over his head, slumping back in his chair. “Hmm. I don’t know anyone who has a luxury car. I was aiming more at family models.”

“I’m suggesting you include both. Plenty of people have luxury cars.”

Naruto narrowed his eyes. “How old are you?”

“Thirty-seven.”

Naruto choked on his spit, making Sasuke raise an eyebrow.

“You look great for thirty-seven,” he added quickly. “But no wonder you know people who own those cars.”

“It was just a suggestion. No need to follow it if you don’t want to.”

“No, no. I’ll do it.”

Sasuke turned his attention back to his computer. Naruto started tapping his pen against his notebook.

“I’m twenty-four,” Naruto said after a moment.

That was younger than he expected. “How? This isn’t a program you can enter without field experience.”

“I have it! I worked with Jiraiya for a while.”

Sasuke hummed.

“He’s my godfather,” Naruto added. Sasuke hadn’t asked, but he told him anyway.

“That’s interesting. Are your parents in the field as well?”

Naruto’s expression shifted, turning quieter. “They used to be. I lost them both in a crash… so it’s just my old man and me.”

Sasuke lifted his gaze. “Is that why you chose this topic for your thesis?”

Naruto smiled and gave a small nod.

Oh.

There was a hint of sadness behind his blue eyes. It felt unfair. Naruto was a kind person and he did not deserve that kind of hurt. Or the burden to try to change the world so that others wouldn’t feel the same hurt. Naruto didn’t even have to say it; Sasuke intuitively understood him.

Sasuke reached his hand across the desk and squeezed Naruto’s hand. “You’re a good kid,” he said.

Naruto’s cheeks turned pink. He was still for a moment before running his thumb over Sasuke’s hand.

It only lasted a second before the omega let go and Naruto went back to his work.

Silently, Sasuke watched him. Maybe if he were a few years younger, they might have been classmates, maybe even friends. Then, he would have been able to comfort him. Give him a hug or hold his hand a little longer. Anything other than the awkward words he’d said.

Sasuke pulled back, mortified. What was he thinking?

It had to be the hormones he was pumping into himself. His body was preparing itself for a heat and it made him emotional. He was his professor, and he’d help him professionally as much as he could.

Sasuke shook his head and turned back to his work.

*

Naruto was…conflicted. He had finally gotten to work with Sasuke like he wanted to, and he was in his office more often than not. Still, it didn’t feel like enough.

He wanted to think it was just an innocent crush. His professor was smart and handsome, sure, but the longer they spent together, the more Naruto felt that strange pit in his stomach.

Sasuke was all business. From their first meeting, his professor had gone straight into discussing his thesis and the work that needed to be done. Even when he spoke to his assistant, everything revolved around class. Not that Naruto hadn’t expected that, but Sasuke was such a private person that he couldn’t help being curious about him.

Naruto, on the other hand, was an open book. He constantly volunteered information about himself. Sasuke only offered small snippets, and Naruto had to pry even those out of him. Still, little by little, he was learning things.

Sasuke wasn’t married. He seemed to live alone. He didn’t appear to have a life outside of work. And despite what he had initially told Naruto, he had only taken two days off since they started working together. When he asked, the omega just told him he was busy.

Naruto sat in his office, working through a difficult exercise. He slumped in his chair, abandoning his notebook in favor of watching Sasuke. He was looking down, grading exams, his hair falling over his face. Naruto had to fight the urge to reach over and brush it back, just to see him properly.

Those thoughts came up more often than he liked. Whenever Sasuke wasn’t looking, Naruto found himself staring, as if that alone might reveal something.

He must have been staring too intensely, because Sasuke suddenly looked up. “Do you need any help?”

“This doesn’t have an answer,” Naruto mumbled.

“Yes, it does,” Sasuke replied. “All textbooks are triple-checked before publication.”

“No, it doesn’t! I’ve tried it a dozen times!”

Sasuke reached over, flipped the book closed, and pointed at the bottom of the page, where it read: S. Uchiha, PhD.

…Oh.

Naruto stared at it for a second before looking back at him. Then he muttered, “You made us buy your own book? Conceited much…”

Sasuke glared at him. “I know what I’m teaching.” But there was a hint of amusement in his voice.

It was…kind of funny. The professor was usually so serious that this was about as close to a joke as he ever got.

Sasuke moved his chair closer. He sat right beside Naruto, close enough to reach, but he didn’t touch him.

“Look, you have to calculate the thermal expansion. You’re supposed to-”

His words blurred together. This close, Naruto could smell his shampoo. His scent had been changing slowly over the weeks. Lately, it was sweeter, but strange. Almost sterile, or artificial.

Naruto squeezed his eyes shut and forced himself to focus.

Sasuke didn’t give him the answer, but he guided him through it step by step. His dark eyes followed Naruto’s movements closely as he wrote in his notebook.

It took another attempt, but Naruto finally got it. He turned back, eagerly waiting for Sasuke’s reaction.

The omega smiled, his eyes wrinkling, and said, “Good job.”

Sasuke was cheap with his praise, always few words and far between. Whenever he did get it, it made Naruto want to work harder.

Beaming, he scooted closer and said, “Should I do another one?”

Sasuke shook his head. “I think we’ve done enough for today. We’ll continue next week.”

Naruto tried to hide his disappointment and nodded. Maybe Naruto was getting too comfortable around him. He was naturally chatty, he took after his mother in that sense, or so Jiraiya said, but with Sasuke, it was different. He wanted to talk, to get something out of him. And if he was honest with himself, he wanted to impress him.

He waved goodbye to his professor and left.

Naruto walked back to his apartment with his head down and his hands in his pockets. Every time he saw Sasuke, he was left with a hollow feeling in his chest. It made him restless, always waiting for the next time they would see each other.

What did Sasuke do after leaving the school? Did he ever think about Naruto… or was it all just work to him?

The week dragged on endlessly. Naruto still had classes to keep him busy, and in his free time he worked on his thesis but Sasuke lingered in the back of his mind.

He brought an apple the day they were supposed to meet, but early that morning, Naruto received an email saying their class was canceled and their thesis meeting was postponed. There was no explanation, just a brief apology and Kabuto’s contact information in case he needed help.

Just like that, his entire day soured.

Naruto remembered Sasuke saying he might not be around before the end of the year, and a sudden wave of panic hit him.

The second his class ended, he rushed across campus and made his way to Sasuke’s office.

The door was open but Sasuke was not inside. Kabuto was there instead, moving frantically through the drawers. He paused when he noticed Naruto. “Oh, Naruto. Did you not get Professor Uchiha’s email?”

“I did. I was just uh- Did something happen?”

“Professor Uchiha is out today and tomorrow.”

“Oh.” Naruto hesitated. “He was supposed to review my thesis, but we can do it next week.”

Kabuto smiled absently and went back to sorting through folders.

“Do you need any help?” Naruto asked.

Kabuto sighed. “The professor forgot his laptop. He asked if I could bring it over, but I’m tutoring later…and he also asked me to grade some tests. I’m trying to get everything done quickly.”

“I can bring the laptop for you.”

Kabuto looked up. “Really? Oh, you’re a lifesaver! I can text you his address.”

Naruto nodded, trying to make it seem like it was not a big deal.

The alpha put the laptop inside his bag and said goodbye to Kabuto. He was a little worried about Sasuke, but he couldn’t deny he was also excited to see him.

His house turned out to be far from the train station, so he had to walk the rest of the way. Of course, Sasuke lived in a fancy neighborhood. Naruto walked along, a little amused, taking in the large but modest houses. Tall trees lined both sides of the road, casting long shadows over the pavement.

He recognized Sasuke’s car parked in front of an elegant, modern house. It had large windows, but the blinds were drawn, making it impossible to see inside. Naruto checked the last name by the door to be sure, then hurried to ring the bell.

His heart was beating loud enough to echo in his ears.

For a moment, nothing happened.

Then, “Door’s open,” Sasuke called.

Naruto turned the knob and stepped inside.

The house was dark. Only a dim light from the living room illuminated the modern furniture and the full bookshelves. It might have been beautiful, but the sour scent hanging in the air made his stomach turn.

On the sofa, Sasuke sat with a murderous expression, a glass of wine in front of him.

“Professor?” Naruto called.

“Why are you here?” Sasuke asked.

Naruto swallowed. “Kabuto was busy, so I offered to come…”

Sasuke’s dark eyes lingered on his face, barely concealing his irritation.

“I- uh. I brought you your laptop,” Naruto added, trying to lighten the mood.

Sasuke hummed. He picked up the glass and drained it in one go. “You can leave it there. Now get out.”

Naruto stood there, stunned. This was new. Sasuke was reserved, sometimes distant, but never outright rude. That, paired with the unsettling scent in the room, added to his worry.

“Professor, if you need any help-”

Sasuke shook his head. “Please leave.”

Instead, Naruto stepped closer and sat beside him.

“I don’t want to leave you like this. You seem… off.”

Sasuke let out a humorless laugh. “Off,” he repeated.

Naruto reached for his hand, giving it a gentle squeeze in the same way Sasuke had done for him before.

“Is there anything I can do to help?” he asked gently.

Sasuke licked his lips. His expression faltered, making him look less like a composed professor and more like someone who was in agony.

“I…” His voice wavered. “I’ve had a rough day.”

And Naruto understood. He didn’t know what Sasuke was going through, and he doubted the omega would tell him if he asked. Still, he knew what it was like to be in pain and have no one there for you.

Sasuke didn’t pull his hand back, and it gave Naruto a little courage.

Slowly, he reached up, brushing Sasuke’s hair behind his ear, something he had wanted to do for a long time. His dark eyes were glossy and his lips were pressed tightly together. He looked as beautiful as ever.

“I’m sorry,” Naruto said. He dropped his tone and added, “I’ll stay as long as you need me to.”

Instead of answering, Sasuke leaned closer and kissed him.

Without a second thought, Naruto kissed him back. His hand slid to the back of his head, holding him in place. The omega tasted like the wine he was drinking. The kiss was hungry but his lips and his tongue were soft and gentle.

Sasuke pulled back first, blinking his black eyes at him. “Naruto…” he muttered.

Had he ever said his name like that?

His scent lost some of its sharpness. Naruto could feel how fragile this moment was and knew that the wrong move could bring it to an end. If he tried to say something, Sasuke would surely push him away. He couldn’t let that happen. He couldn’t just leave him when he was so sad.

Gently, Naruto slipped an arm around Sasuke’s waist and guided him down onto the couch. He went easily, offering no resistance, and when Naruto leaned in again, he didn’t stop him. Naruto kissed him again, closer this time, their bodies pressed together, leaving no space between them.

Naruto couldn’t get enough of it. He wanted to prove to Sasuke that he was there for him but he couldn’t deny how badly he wanted this too. The room was getting hotter and Naruto’s own scent was starting to mix with Sasuke’s.

The omega kissed him back eagerly, like he was savoring it. Naruto pressed closer, and in response, Sasuke shifted beneath him, draping a leg over his middle, pulling him in.

Fuck. It was impossible to think. Everything Naruto had been holding back spilled over all at once. His beautiful, sweet omega was hurting and something deep in him needed to soothe him, to stay close, to not let him be alone.

Naruto broke the kiss, his mouth trailing down along Sasuke’s jaw instead. Sasuke let out a soft, breathy sound and tilted his head back.

“Why are you so sad?” he muttered, mouthing at his neck. “Let your pretty scent out, hm? I’ll make you feel better.”

Naruto slid his hand under his shirt, drawing circles on his skin. Slowly, the sour scent blended with his desire. Naruto’s hardness was painful and he could feel the omega’s desire as well.

The alpha could not hold back any longer. Naruto reached for Sasuke’s shirt, undoing the buttons one by one before pushing it open, baring his chest. Beneath him, Sasuke’s breathing had grown uneven. His chest was pale, flushed faintly, rising and falling quickly.

“You’re so beautiful,” Naruto said, almost salivating. He dipped his head down and took one of the sensitive nubs between his lips. He teased it with his tongue until he felt it harden. In response, Sasuke arched his back, chasing his touch.

Naruto’s thumb brushed over the other, circling before pinching lightly. Sasuke’s skin was almost as sweet as the breathy sounds coming from his lips. Eager, the alpha switched to the other side. Sasuke’s hands tangled in his hair. He looked up as he lapped, watching the omega blinking tears from his eyes.

He could have kept going for hours but his cock was tight in his pants, begging for release. Naruto pulled back, sitting up just long enough to shrug off his shirt. His gaze dragged over Sasuke’s flushed face, then to his exposed chest, before his hand moved down, palming him through his clothes.

Sasuke was already hard. Naruto unzipped his pants and slid them down his legs along with his underwear. His omega cock was already hard and he could smell the slick coming from him. By now, his scent had gone back to normal and now it was spiking with desire.

The most enthralling thing, however, was the way Sasuke was looking at him. His cheeks were red but his face was unguarded; he followed Naruto’s movements with his eyes. When he realized the alpha was staring, he closed his legs, shielding himself.

Quickly, he pushed his own clothes out of the way, then placed his hands on Sasuke’s knees, easing them apart again.

They were already so close. Too close to stop now.

“I might have a condom-” Naruto started, glancing toward his bag discarded on the floor.

Sasuke caught his chin, forcing him to look back at him. “Don’t bother. I can’t get pregnant,” he replied.

“Oh…okay,” Naruto replied. Now wasn’t the time for questions.

He grabbed his cock and rubbed it up and down Sasuke’s cunt. Once it was wet enough, he started pushing inside.

“Fuck. That’s tight,” Naruto said, sounding breathless.

Sasuke bit his lip, his body tensing before gradually giving way. The alpha gripped his hips and slowly fed his cock into him until he was fully inside. He paused for a moment, savoring the sensation and taking in the sight of Sauke under him, being split open.

Naruto tightened his grasp before slowly pulling out and snapping back in. He could have gone slower, but he was drunk on Sasuke’s scent and too lost in the feeling. As he thrust inside, the omega’s body started to slick more, making the slide easier but also as a clear sign of Sasuke’s pleasure.

Naruto grabbed his wrists and pinned them above his head, leaning down to take one of his nipples into his mouth.

Sasuke arched into him, a sharp gasp leaving his lips as one of his legs hooked over Naruto’s back. His body tightened suddenly around him, and he left a wetness between their bodies.

Naruto groaned at the feeling. “You came already?” he murmured, nosing at his cheek. “I’m not done with you yet.”

He slipped out for a moment, then sat back on the couch, grabbing Sasuke by the arms and pulling him into his lap. Sasuke looked at him with a small pout, which Naruto took as him wanting to be close again. So he reached down, guided his cock, and pressed it back against his cunt.

With a whimper, Sasuke sank down onto it. Naruto just wrapped his arms around him and held him close while he moved inside him, slow and deep.

His knot was starting to form, and all he could think about was keeping his pretty omega right there. Naruto kissed his sweaty cheeks, breathing in his scent as he pushed his growing knot past his stretched hole.

Sasuke turned his face to look at him, meeting his blue eyes, his lips parting as the knot locked into place. Soft, breathless sounds spilled from him as he was filled from the inside.

Pleasure spread through Naruto’s body. Sasuke was limp in his hold, only whimpering when the alpha’s cock twitched and filled him with another load of cum.

There was nothing to say after that. Naruto pressed his forehead to Sasuke’s, their breaths mingling. Naruto was lost in the haze. All he could feel and smell was Sasuke. Nothing else existed but the two of them.

The feeling lingered even after his knot finally deflated and his cock slipped out. He brought his lips back to Sasuke’s. The omega kissed him slowly, but Naruto licked his lips and pushed his tongue inside.

With a small gasp, Sasuke pulled back. “Are you getting hard again?”

Naruto’s hands slid down the omega’s bare back, following the smooth curve down to his hips. “You can’t be satisfied with just that, right?”

“J-just that?”

Instead of answering, Naruto dipped his head back down to his chest. His lips were insistent, pressing and sucking while his tongue flicked over sensitive skin. At the same time, his hand slipped between them, finding Sasuke’s softened cock and slowly rubbing circles over the head with his thumb.

Sasuke dug his nails into Naruto’s shoulders, his body trembling as slick and seed spilled from him. Naruto took one of his nipples between his teeth and gave it a gentle bite.

“Ready for round two?” he whispered against his skin.

Sasuke’s lip trembled. His cock began to harden again in Naruto’s hand. Naruto watched him closely, still working him slowly, his mouth returning to his chest.

“Naruto!” Sasuke cried out.

“Sasuke…”

“That’s too much!” the omega sniffled.

“But you smell so sweet,” Naruto murmured, sucking a bruise to his chest. “We’ll go slow.”

Sasuke pressed his hands weakly against Naruto’s chest, lacking any real strength. “Bed?” he suggested meekly.

Naruto nodded. “Here, I’ve got you.” He slid his hands under Sasuke’s thighs and stood, lifting him easily against his chest. Sasuke buried his face in the crook of his neck as Naruto carried him upstairs.

Sasuke’s bedroom might have been large, but his bed took up half the room. It was massive, filled with perfectly lined pillows and neatly arranged blankets. Naruto thought it was the cutest nest.

Gently, he laid Sasuke in it. The omega simply lay there, letting his legs be opened as Naruto settled between them. He didn’t say anything. For someone so serious, he was surprisingly submissive during sex.

Naruto pressed quick, wet kisses along the side of his face. He was fully erect now, and Sasuke was wet enough that when he rubbed against him, it was easy to find his mark and slide into him.

Sasuke melted into his touch, his hands tightening weakly in the blankets as the alpha thrusted into him. His scent was stronger in the nest, and Naruto figured it must be much more comfortable than the couch. He mentally scolded himself for being so inconsiderate.

“Here,” Naruto said, lying back and guiding Sasuke to face him. The alpha reached for his leg and wrapped it over his middle, going slow and deep. He pressed his face into his neck, letting him breathe in his scent. “You’re being so good.”

Shyly, almost reluctantly, Sasuke gave a small, kitten-like lick over his scent gland, making Naruto groan.

“Do you like it?” he asked.

Sasuke gave a small nod, clinging to him.

This was somehow even more intimate than before. Naruto wasn’t thinking about the fact that this was his professor; all he could see was a sweet omega who desperately needed him.

And so there he was, fucking him dry. Sasuke mewled, once again clenching around him. His cock twitched valiantly and stained his stomach with a single clear streak.

The omega averted his eyes, embarrassed, but Naruto held his chin and forced him to look at him. “You look even cuter when you cum,” he said.

Sasuke was flushed red. He was trembling, likely from overstimulation. Naruto didn’t stop, enjoying the way he spasmed around his cock. He kept going until his knot grew and Sasuke’s eyes went wide.

“You took it before, remember?” Naruto whispered. “You can do it again.

Sasuke’s face scrunched up as his body locked them together. Naruto kissed him through it, swallowing the sounds as he trembled. He was a young, healthy alpha, and when he came, it was a lot. The omega could squirm and gasp as much as he wanted but it was all kept inside by the knot.

When Sasuke calmed down, he pulled back from their kiss, but Naruto held him against his chest. The omega pressed his head to him, breathing shallowly. His scent was no longer bitter. Now it was only sweet.

Naruto’s instincts had calmed since the omega was no longer distressed. They cuddled together in the warmth of the nest. Naruto traced his fingers over Sasuke’s bare back. Since they were tied together, he couldn’t exactly run away, so he figured now was the time to talk.

“Prof- Sasuke?” Naruto asked.

Sasuke didn’t reply.

Frowning, Naruto brushed the hair from his face and found the omega fast asleep.

“Did you pass out?” he chuckled.

Naruto smiled and patted his back. He pulled one of the blankets over them and draped it across their bodies before kissing his head.

Pity… he could have gone for another round.
