Chapter Text
Fold hopped out of the ship and crossed his arms. He was sent on some ridiculous solo mission. He actually wasn’t sure why Miss Information wasn’t coming, but it was probably something important.
This should be easy. Just hop in, help the main character, hop out. Well, that’s what Fold thought, until he saw that backpack guy.
Kaboodle. Fold hated him so much. He was ridiculously strong, for one, and his voice was just annoying. What was with that accent?? Why wasn’t that kit girl with him? They were practically inseparable, but that had happened on the planet before this one too. Maybe she got sick of him and decided to abandon him.
Fold hid behind a tree, poking his head out from behind it. Kaboodle seemed to be going somewhere. Maybe if he followed him he’d find the hero. Shifting into a smaller spider shape, he snuck behind the small robot, keeping a safe distance as to not be found. Thankfully this planet was covered in lush greenery and rocks, so it was easy to stay hidden.
“Y’know I can hear you over there.”
Fold jumped upon hearing Kaboodle’s voice. How did he know he was there?!
“H-how the hell did you-“ Fold started, but was cut off.
“You’re stepping on leaves and muttering under your breath. You really need to work on your hide and seek skills.” Kaboodle turned around, facing him.
“Well, you probably can’t do any better! Whatever, just go back to whatever you were doing, I don’t care.” Fold ‘hmphed’ and glared at him. He would just pretend to be doing something else and follow him later. That would work.
“You obviously do care, considering you were following me. Just get off this planet, I don’t want another one getting destroyed! Your partner isn’t even here, and isn’t she the brains of your duo?”
“We have a reason for helping the heroes win! And no, she’s not the brains!! I’m just as smart!”
Kaboodle rolled his eyes. “Mhm, yeah, sure. Now stop following me like some creep, I’m trying to find Kit.”
“I wasn’t even following you! You’re delusional, or something. Fine! I’ll leave! No reason for me to be here anyways.”
Just as Fold started to stomp off, the ground started to shake. Within seconds everything froze, turning gray.
“Shit, she did it again.” Kaboodle sighed.
“Oh my GOD! Does she always do this?! Get a new partner already!! If we get caught, we’re both dead!”
“I’m not leaving Kit, she’s like family at this point. This should end quickly anyways. Just don’t let the planet find you.”
Fold looked around until he spotted a small cave. That should be okay to hide out in until they were in the clear. He ran into the cave, followed by Kaboodle.
“Hey! Why’d you follow me?!” Fold tried shoving him out of the cave.
“Because there’s nowhere else to go! Did you really expect me to just out there and die?”
They sat there for a few minutes, then 5. It should’ve been over by then, so why wasn’t it?
10 minutes passed. 15. It seemed this wouldn’t change anytime soon, and even worse, Fold was stuck with his worst enemy.
