Summary
After surviving the apartment fire that killed his parents, Mello wakes up badly burned and trapped inside a hospital he quickly grows to hate. The endless beeping machines, fake sympathy, and suffocating white walls only make his temper worse, and before long, everyone in the ward knows him as the rude blonde with a mouth problem.
Days blur together in boredom, pain, and sleepless nights until a new patient is rushed into the hospital late one stormy night, a pale redheaded boy with freckles and an overdose barely keeping him alive.
Mello only catches a glimpse of him at first.
But after that night, he can’t stop thinking about him.
