Chapter Text
Geese are part of the anatidae family and the subfamily anserinae. The anatidae birds can also be called "water fowl." They are good swimmers and fishers.
Haymitch raises geese each year after his liquor runs out. No young person understood why, and no old one spoke of it. Haymitch never spoke to anyone about it; he rarely spoke to anyone at all.
The 51st Hunger Games was won by a handsome man from District 4 named Liam O'Saoirse. Someone from District 4 winning was nothing new. Everyone was still excited from the last game to really care much about this one. Liam brought everyone back to the present, that the Careers are the powerful ones.
Liam was nicknamed "The Swan" due to his dark skin and bright hair. He was frequently dressed in white outfits with feather details as his stylists leaned into the thought of "The Swan."
He won the games due to an unfair advantage; the arena was made of water. It was one of the fastest games, since many of the other tributes simply drowned. People called it boring until they brought in mutts. Giant creatures that stalk and play with their prey. The remaining tributes got paranoid. The other District 4 tribute killing themselves and tributes from District 1 injured each other and were finished off by the mutts.
Liam persevered and lived by not doing much.
By the 56th game, Haymitch had fallen during the Reaping twice and didn't show up to one; he was found later in his house, unconscious on the ground.
President Snow disliked the fact that Haymitch was getting away with not doing his job (or so they said). He assigned a caretaker to Haymitch to make sure that he still did what he was supposed to do during the Games, along with not letting Haymitch kill himself.
That caretaker was Liam.
Liam was used to taking care of people. His parents had 6 kids, including Liam. His parents were sexual fiends too. It surprised him that he didn't have more siblings. He was the main parent of his siblings, so he knew he could handle Haymitch Abernathy.
He thought he could handle Haymitch Abernathy.
