Chapter Text
The music was bumping throughout the whole house. Katsuki’s patience was already thin enough with the math homework he was supposed to finish a day ago but forgot about due to his boxing match that same day.
His older brother—Kudo, had his friend over. Izuku Midoriya. Weird kid. A year older than Katsuki, and a year younger than Kudo. 18, 19, and 20. Izuku also had an older brother, Yoichi. He wasn’t around as much though, usually busy with college. He made an appearance here and there at their house though.
Well…Bakugo definitely wondered about this Izuku from time to time.
Friends? Or just Acquaintances?
“Kats!” Bakugo had heard his older brother call from his room.
He groaned and dragged a hand down his face from where he’d been sitting at his desk in his room. Posters pinned to the wall, Deftones, Nirvana, Weezer, every mid-western emo band you could think of. His sweater was behind him on his chair and he tossed his pencil onto his math homework as he stood up to walk toward the door.
He opened Kudo’s door, “What??” He asked in a slightly annoyed tone.
Kudo gave a small smile as he turned halfway around, electric guitar in his hands.
”Go grab some chips, pleaseee.” He said with a small grin, of course, telling his younger brother to go run his food errands.
Bakugo only furrowed his brows slightly, the eyebrow piercing on his right brow shifting slightly as he did so.
”Tch,” his eyes glanced toward Izuku.
He always knew of him, never seen him though.
Izuku had a slit eyebrow, shaggy but curly green hair, a dark and deep green. His eyes were almost as green as his hair, and the lip piercing on his bottom lip stood out against his complexion. Bakugo noticed him sitting on Kudo’s bed, guitar in hand, his fingers picking at the strings before Katsuki had walked in.
Izuku looked up, eyes hooded. His eyes sized Bakugo up, acknowledging him for a minute.
A small wink from Izuku had escaped, Bakugo’s eyes slightly widened—only slightly.
”Alright.” He muttered back to Kudo as he took a step back out and shut the door behind him.
He brushed it off for himself, thinking he probably imagined that.
But seriously, Izuku Midoriya. Why did Kudo never bring him around before? Why did he never see him?
Was it the boxing practice?
Whatever.
—
Izuku chuckled quietly to himself, picking at the guitar strings as Kudo put the volume down, watercolored orange spiky hair in his face as he did so.
”You never told me you had a cute brother.” Izuku said as he ended up beside Kudo who was sitting in his chair at his desk while turning the knobs on his modular synth that was connected to his guitar and speakers.
”Psch, it’s cause he’s a little shit.” He chortled back to Izuku.
He just let out a half laugh, shaking his head as he adjusted the guitar straps around his body.
”Yeah, I can see it. He wouldn’t be your brother if he wasn’t.” He said with a slight smile, picking at the strings of the guitar again.
Meanwhile…
Bakugo had grabbed a bowl out of the cabinet, shaking some random chips they had into it.
”Tch, thinks i’m his slave or somethin’…”
He muttered to himself, irritated per usual.
Izuku had made his way down to get some water, coming down the stairs to see Katsuki grumbling to himself. He opened the two door refrigerator to grab a water bottle and glanced toward Katsuki who hadn’t even managed to notice Izuku was there yet.
”You in any sports?” Izuku asked as he grabbed a bottle of water, twisting the cap open.
Bakugo finally glanced over, shrugging slightly as he closed the bag of chips up and clipped it with a pin.
”Yeah. Boxing.” He responded back, tossing the chips into the nearby pantry.
Izuku nodded after taking a gulp of water, “Hm, makes sense. You any good at it?” He asked with a small smile.
Bakugo squinted slightly, almost suspicious as he furrowed his brows, chin tilted down at the bowl of chips in his hand. He was sideways at the island counter and Izuku was still in front of the refrigerator.
”Tch, what’s it to you? You trynna challenge me???” He asked defensively, setting the bowl down and crossing his arms now as he fully faced Izuku.
Izuku put his hands up in mock defense and let out a small laugh, “Well, no! But it’s clear to me that your brother was right…you are a little shit.” He said with a clearly fake and smitten smile toward Katsuki.
Bakugo gave a slight scowl, his upper lip curving.
”Tch, what gives you the right to judge me, hah!?” He exclaimed, explosive temper for sure.
Izuku only narrowed his eyes a bit, noticing everything about him and the way he reacted.
”Hm…I’m not judging. But you’d probably like to watch that temper.” He said with a small smile, now patting his shoulder as he walked past.
”See you in your brother’s room,” he said in a playfully sarcastic tone.
Bakugo’s eyes narrowed exceedingly thin, tracking Izuku as he walked past him, patting his shoulder and all.
Who did he think he was??
All those piercings and shit…
