Chapter Text
When Seth died to go through his punishment, Nephthys was devastated and soon she had already become skin and bones.
She wanted to see her husband so that she could apologize for cheating him with Osiris. So that he could tell Anubis and her the truth of what had happened.
Nephthys knew.
She knew her loyal and loving husband would never turn his weapon on the land and people he swore to protect.
She knew that Seth would do ANYTHING for Anubis despite the heart breaking fact that he was never his child.
So why?
Why?
WHY?
Why must they suffer?
Why must he suffer?
Nephthys despaired over and over and Anubis soon felt his mother's presence weaken more and more as the days passed by.
He despised him.
He despised Seth.
He despised the man that put his mother in that pitiful state.
He hated the man that cursed him and his cousin (half-brother) for absolutely no reason.
He knew he should despise and hate the God of War, but why?
Why is it that he looked at Anubis so endearingly in his last moments?
He could have chosen to glare at all the other gods and give them a whole lesson on cursing, but why?
Why did he choose to look at Anubis?
With that look, Anubis knew that he could never hate Seth completely.

Ra loves her share of drama and gossip. That everyone knew. She preferred to watch rather than participate in a show. So it was a centennial surprise when she gave Seth an offer in his trial.
None of her children understood what she wanted at the time. Her sudden interference was never expected by any of them.
However, Ra did everything for a reason no matter how silly nor serious.
She knew everything that happens.
Everything under her divine ray of course.
She knew one thing for sure.
Seth must get away from Egypt.
He must never set foot in Egypt again this time.
Only with that he could restart the wheel that has stopped.
