Chapter Text
You are a ghost.
Wandering across the vast lonely sea, searching for a ship, a person, or anything really. You crave entertainment, someone to mess with.
Except, you are not a ghost at all. It's just a term befitting your current form.
You are a devil fruit user. You ate the Spec-Spec fruit, you can become an 'Spectator' at will. And now, you are flying above the almost pitch black sea, the moonlight sneaking through the clouds, making the water glitter like the stars in the night sky.
Until you spot something at the edge of the horizon, a blurry figure of a ship. You flew closer to take a good look. And as you did, you were met by a giant dinosaur head at the front of the ship, the black sails hanging off the dark masts, the deck was empty.
'They must be sleeping...' You looked closer at the huge black sail with purple flame at the bottom, in the center was crossed bones and a skull wearing square goggles with spiky red-hair resembling flames, a knife stabbed right in the middle of it, more flames at either side.
'Pirates, huh? That Jolly Roger looks familiar too...Oh, well.'
You descended to the deck, passing through the walls, as you headed for the captain's cabin. Judging by the ships design, the Captain must surely be an interesting person, you're just going to see what they look like....just that.
'This must be it.' You thought to yourself as you arrived at a medium sized room, a little big for just a crewmate. You looked around curiously, there were all sorts of weapons placed on the walls: guns, knifes, bows, etc. A lot of metal trinkets were seemingly trashed on the corner of the room—failures, maybe?, right beside it was a shelf full of countless discs, a gramophone placed on a table next to it.
'A weapons collector and a music lover? What a weird combo.' You turn your gaze on the bed at the edge of the room where you've been hearing occasional snoring since earlier, there was a figure half covered by a blanket, their chest rising and falling.
You couldn't make out their face properly, it was too dark in the room, so you decided to get closer to their face. You floated towards the bed, stopping just on top of the figure, it was more visible now, you began to gaze across their body.
Looking at the much bigger figure laying down like a starfish, you now know that the Captain is a man. You almost whistled because of how muscular he is, you always had a thing for muscular guys. You noticed the scar from his neck continuing down to his chest, your eyes divert to the right, your eyes widening at the sight.
'That is so cool!' Your eyes beamed in awe at the massive metal arm connected to him, you were so right about checking out this ship. You continued your analyzing, now focusing on his face. He looked similar to the Jolly Roger, red-hair that resembles flames, and the square goggles that are placed on the nightstand. He had two scars going down his right forehead, this guy must've had a lot of fights.
'Wait..I've seen him before..' You rubbed your chin as you tried to remember where you have seen this guy before. 'Rockstar? No..Video Den den mushi? No.. Newspaper?..... Newspaper!!!'
You remembered now, you've seen him in a newspaper before! This guy... he's one of the Worst Generations, the infamous Eustass "Captain" Kidd. Whoa, you've stumbled upon a quite troublesome pirate ship.
As you were preoccupied with your thinking and staring at his face, his eyes fluttered open.
You froze. He froze.
Shit.
You were floating, right on top of him, staring really close at his face. You've been discovered.
Without warning, he lunged at you, though his arm only passed through your body. If you weren't spectating right now, you would've been dead.
"What the fuck?" Kidd said in confusion, he lunged at you once again.
It passed through you again, you quickly floated away from him to have some distance. Kidd moved in a flash, throwing his body towards you, attempting to tackle you. But instead, he stumbled against the wooden floor, a loud sound coming from the impact.
"Tsk! What kind of dirty trick are you using?!" Kidd yelled out, before recovering from the fall.
You retreated into a corner, slightly— no, really terrified of him. As expected of a man with a 470M bounty.
You blinked your eyes and the next thing you see is his fist coming towards your face, but instead of your face, the wall behind you took the punch and got destroyed. You almost pissed yourself.
"Again...What the hell are you?!" Kidd shouted in frustration, while looking at his fist passing through your head.
Right after he said that, the door to his room slammed open.
"Kidd! What's happening?!" A guy with a blue mask on entered the room.
Kidd turned to the guy. "There's an intruder!"
"Where??" The blonde guy responded.
"What do you mean 'where'?! Right here!—..." Kidd looked back, but it was an empty space, only the destroyed wall was seen.
"..Where?" The blonde guy asked again.
"She was just right here!" Kidd shouted. "She must've escaped..Search the whole ship for an intruder!"
"Got it." The masked guy ran out of the room.
Kidd was left in the room. He clenched his fist, he thought about the mysterious intruder, his pride wounded by all his attacks passing through.

'Thank you, random guy for opening the door..'
And here you are, floating outside the ship, clutching your chest, regulating your rapid heart beating. Your knees are still weakened by the sheer fear of Kidd's punch passing through you, earlier, you managed to float out the ship when he got distracted by the door opening.
"That guy's a monster.." You muttered to yourself, not daring to louden your voice. You overhead Kidd's previous conversation, the entire crew is now looking for you on the ship, you probably need to get out of here. Yeah....You should.
'....I mean, I should but.. It's not like they can catch me right?' You thought of a dangerous idea. 'Besides...I can turn invisible anyways..'
You really should leave now. Except..for some reason, you find yourself thinking about Kidd, he's scary, yes...Scarily hot, also yes... You couldn't help but be intrigued by him, like some sort of unknown force is drawing you to him.
Sticking around is a foolish idea, messing with a dangerous pirate like him is suicide. And yet, like a moth flying towards a flame, you decided to stay for a little while.
Little do you know, this choice would greatly affect the trajectory of your life.
