Carl wasn’t normally a jealous person but seeing the new boy (Liam) talk, laugh and have his arm wrapped around his best friend’s shoulder made his blood absolutely boil.
That should be him making her laugh and having his arm wrapped around her shoulder instead acting like a real couple and not just friends.
But of course that was just a pipe dream because deep down Carl knew that Sophia wouldn’t feel the same way saying something along the lines of them being just friends who shouldn’t give into their sexual desires.
Now here he was staring at them from afar arms crossed, glaring at the happy couple and leaning against the walls of Alexandria listening to the walkers shuffle and groan as they slam their hands against the wall trying to get to the people inside but Carl wasn’t worried about that all he was worried about was trying not to toss Liam out to the walkers.
He could feel the steam coming out of his ears as he continues to watch the exchange. Carl was livid feeling his jealousy starting to reach it’s peak digging his fingernails into his arm drawing blood.
He didn’t quite understand what Sophia saw in Liam anyways. Maybe it’s the fact that he’s way taller than Carl or maybe it’s the fact that he had a really rough childhood throughout the entire zombie apocalypse. Who could blame him when he had to walk around in walker skin and get abused by his mother who goes by Alpha.
He quickly snaps out of his thoughts when they start walking in his direction pushing his jealousy down and acting like he wasn’t watching them for the past hour or so.
“Were you watching us from afar, Grimes?” Liam asked, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips like he knew he was getting under Carl’s skin.
“Of course not. That would be weird. I was just standing here waiting for my sister,” he said, feeling his anger slowly reaching the surface fists clenched at his sides as he tried his absolute hardest not to punch the smirk right off his pretty face that made the girls drool.
Liam just stared at him eyes twinkling in the sunlight like he was finding this whole situation hilarious. “So let get this straight, you're just out here leaning against the wall where a walker could bust through at any second. Yeah I ain’t buying it, dude.”
Sophia just stood there looking back and forth between the two boys not knowing what to say or do. She knew that this plan to make Carl jealous was a really bad idea knowing deep down that Carl wouldn’t have a reaction to her talking to a guy she just met but now standing before him she could just see the jealousy raging off of him.
“Can you give us a minute, Liam?” Sophia asked, not taking her eyes off of Carl.
“Sure babe,” he said, kissing her temple as he stares directly at Carl, smirking when he becomes angrier by the second.
As Liam walks off, Carl was trying his absolute hardest not to lunge at him and kick his ass right then and there.
“Are you jealous?” Sophia asked.
Carl just stared at her not knowing what to say. Was he that obvious?
“Why the fuck would I be jealous of you and your perfect little boyfriend,” he scoffed.
“Me and Liam aren’t dating. I was trying to make you jealous,” Sophia said, finding her shoes more interesting than seeing the look on her best friend's face when he finally learns the truth.
“What? But you always tell me that we’re just friends who shouldn’t give into their sexual desires,” Carl said.
Sophia finally looked at him hand coming out to cup his cheek. “That was before and this is now. I want a life with you, Carl Grimes.”
She finally closed the distance between them and as they kissed nobody seemed to pay them any mind. It was just the two of them in a world filled with death.
