Summary:

Foolish takes off his long sleeve dark cucurucho sweater and hands it to Juan who looks at it with uncertainty.

“Will I get killed for wearing his merch?”

Foolish huffs.

“No, you will be fine. You will get killed if you don’t put it on though. By the cold!”

Work Text:

Juan was sat on the bench situated on his balcony, looking out at the rapidly falling sun. The sky was illuminated by deep shades of orange and pink, making the dragon glow. Shy stars were staring to show up, still hiding behind the hues of the sunset, not ready to  appear until night falls.

It would be a perfect evening if he wasn’t so cold. His knees were up to his chest and he was hugging them, desperately trying to diffuse heat into his exhausted body. But for some reason, he was unwilling to get up and go inside, put on a sweatshirt over his buttoned up t-shirt. Maybe it was stubbornness, thinking he’s good enough to power through the cold summer night.

After long moments of contemplating the setting sun, Juan hears heavy footsteps coming from behind him, disrupting his peace and quiet.

He turns his head towards the balcony entrance and greets Foolish.

“Why are you here?” Juan asks in a tired voice.

“Oh! I was just coming to say goodnight,” the Totem responds. “Wait- why are you only wearing that? It’s freezing!

Juan shrugs, turning back to the temporary view. Foolish sighs, and Juan hears him walk closer until he’s standing in front of him, hands on hips.

Juan has not other choice then look up at the man.

To his surprise, Foolish starts taking off his long sleeve dark cucurucho sweater, handing it to Juan who looks at it with uncertainty.

“Will I get killed for wearing his merch?” He wonders, not taking the offering.

Foolish huffs.

“No, you will be fine. You will get killed if you don’t put it on though. By the cold!”

Juan rolls his eyes.

“You’re so dramatic.” He complains, but finally takes the sweater.

He puts it on and instantly feels the heat entering his bones, spreading through his entire body and relaxing his muscles. He doesn’t think too much about how it’s most likely Foolish’s body heat transferring to him.

He sighs as he closes his eyes, ready to fall asleep right there and then from the sudden comfort, when he hears Foolish’s annoying laugh.

“Well, aren’t you just the smallest,” He mocks with a smirk.

Juan snaps his eyes open to glare at the man, pushing up the sleeves that had been engulfing his hands in their entirety to regain some of his dignity.

“Shut up, monster. Not my fault you’re way too big, like a puto monstruo,” Juan retorts, crossing his arms over his chest in a defensive manner.

Foolish only giggles, which infuriates Juan even further. He pushes the Totem still wearing a grin, making him takes a few steps back and hitting his back on the balcony glass.

Juan unconsciously winces, having not meant to hurt him.

“I’ll remove the sweater if you continue. And then stand here all night and die. Is that what you want asshole?” Juan threatens.

Foolish brings his hands up. Apparently, threatening Juan’s death was all it took for the Totem to shut up.

“Okay, okay, I’ll go. Just- wear the sweater,” he finishes, looking Juan up and down with heavy eyes.

The Totem leaves his room and Juan shivers, although not from the cold.

The next day, Juan wakes up with an incessant beeping signaling new messages on his communicator. It’s Tina and Foolish urging him to come to the commercial district because Aldo is blowing stuff up again.

Juan gets up hurriedly, stumbling in his covers. He doesn’t change from what he wore to sleep last night, too focused on his mission.

When Juan finally teleports, arriving at the spawn tower by a panicked mistake, he sees Aldo’s ship flying away. His eyes scan the district to weigh the damage, although, from this angle, his eyes can’t see his store.

He runs closer and finally spots it, Foolish and Tina standing next to it. It seems to be in perfect state but he wants to be absolutely certain.

Heaving, he catches up to his two best friends.

“What happened?! Is my shop okay?!” He panics.

Foolish doesn’t respond, just keeps looking at him with a weird look, but Tina is thankfully useful.

“Your shop is fine, Juan! I don’t know what made him blow up other buildings but he didn’t touch yours, don’t worry.”

Juan nods, finally able to breath for the first time since he woke up, and he looks over at Foolish, waiting for him to say something, or look at anything around him that wasn’t Juan.

“Wait, what are you wearing?” Tina asks.

Juan responds like on automatic, his thoughts somewhere else entirely. Mainly on the Totem.

“Oh, I didn’t change,” he waves a hand dismissively.

It’s then that Foolish expression changes, and he looks up to stare in Juan’s eyes.

“Wait, you wore this to sleep?”

And Juan finally looks at what he’s wearing, realizing that he’s still wearing Foolish’s hoodie.

He remembers last night, when he buried his head into the fabric and realized it kinda smelled like Foolish, the thought comforting him in a way he never expected. He remembers laying down in his bed, unwilling to remove the sweater because it felt like Foolish was next to him.

His hears starts pounding, and he’s grateful no one was there to witness that moment. What had even happened to him?

“Uh-“

Tina looks between them with an annoyed look.

“Ok, I’m gonna go. You two just… keep on being you.”

She teleports away without another word, almost ignored by the two man who don’t look away from one another.

“You wore this to sleep?” Foolish repeats, almost amazed, a smirk still on his face.

When did he ever not smirk, anyways?

“Yeah, what about it?”

Juan sees Foolish swallow.

“It looks- good on you,” Foolish mutters, looking away.

“Oh.”

“You can keep it, if you like.”

Juan feels his cheeks burn. Before he can respond anything, the Totem grabs his waystone and teleports away.

Juan stays on the street a long moment, stunned in place by Foolish’s words.

***

Juan is once again sitting on his bench. It had become a habit to sit there when his thoughts were too heavy to bear. Watching the sunset helped calm him, in a way, it released the tension he felt throughout the day. He’s also wearing the hoodie. After all, he doesn’t want to be cold.

With a sigh, he opens his communicator, texting Foolish a goodnight text.

To his surprise, the Totem responds with a quick ‘WAIT’.

Juan waits only a moment before hearing the hurried footsteps of the Totem climbing to the second floor, and he waits for him to knock.

“Yes, enter,” he calls out.

Foolish enters his bedroom.

“Wait, where are you? Oh, there.”

Juan turns his head in time to see Foolish step on his balcony. To his surprise, the Totem is holding a bundle in his hands.

“What is this?” Juan asks curiously.

Foolish smiles and Juan feels a tug in his heart for some reason.

“Well, I think we can agree that you like wearing my hoodie…” he starts with a smirk, nodding towards what Juan is wearing, while Juan tries his best to not let his face react in any way. “But you can’t always wear the same one, so I got you another one!”

Foolish extends his hands to offer the new sweater to Juan, who takes it unceremoniously.

It’s purple, perfect for miércoles morado as Juan has been running out of purple clothes to wear.

As he removes the black one and puts on the new one, he realizes absentmindedly that it doesn’t… smell like Foolish.

“Have you ever worn this one?” He questions without thinking about it.

“No… How-? Why do you know that?” The Totem asks, furrowing his eyebrows and leaning his head to the side.

Oh.

Juan stares at his hands, feeling blush spread on his cheeks. He was desperate to come up with an answer before the Totem realized…

“Wait.”

The Totem giggles in disbelief.

“Is there actually a reason you know I’ve never worn this one?”

Juan shakes his head vigorously.

“Does it not smell like me?” He guesses with a stupid grin. “Have you gotten used to my cologne?”

Juan grips the fabric of his pants.

“No! Shut up!” He defends weakly, unable to glare at the Totem from the blush spreading on his face.

“Ooo, is that why you sleep with it? You miss me too much when I’m not there…” Foolish continues.

Juan was gonna do something stupid if the Totem didn’t shut up soon. He was getting on his nerves and Juan was becoming very bothered.

“I swear, shut up. You don’t know what you’re talking about.” Juan says through gritted teeth, embarrassment flowing through his skin at being exposed in such a mocking manner.

Foolish ignores him.

“You know I’m right!”

Juan gets up, having had enough of Foolish’s teasing. He gets all up in the Totem’s face, sending daggers with his eyes.

“Foolish. Stop. Talking.”

“Or what?” The Totem whispers in Juan’s face, a smile still tugging at his lips.

Juan couldn’t handle that stupid fucking smirk anymore, especially so close to his face.

“Pendejo.” Juan mutters under his breath before crashing their mouths together, effectively shutting up the Totem.

The world stops for a second, Foolish stunned in place. But Juan sinks his teeth into the other’s lower lip, then smooths it over without with his tongue, and Foolish hungrily returns the attention.

Juan’s head shouldn’t spin the way it does at every new movement of the Totem’s mouth, at every graze of their lips together and at the way his tongue tastes the inside of his mouth like he wants to memorize it. They were only kissing because Juan was tired of Foolish’s antics.

He pushes against the Totem until his back hits the wall in an attempt to regain control. There’s no separation between their bodies, no one could tell where one started and the other ended, and Juan feels like his heart will beat out of his chest at any moment.

Dizziness takes over as he feels heavy hands trail on his waist, lifting up the hoodie he has just put on, heat swarming his body when Foolish rests his hands on the bare skin of his back, pulling him impossibly closer.

He pants in Foolish’s mouth, his lungs burning, and allows himself to wrap his arms around Foolish’s neck, hanging onto the man almost desperately.

The kiss slows down, both heaving against the other’s mouth. Juan presses one last close mouthed kiss against Foolish’s lips.

Moments pass as they stay unmoving in their exact position. Foolish’s finger trace against Juan’s skin, and Juan refuses to open his eyes.

He hadn’t known he had wanted to kiss the Totem, but now, after having tasted those lips, he refuses to let the moment end. He refuses to consider the possibility that this was only a one time thing.

He hears Foolish clear his throat and he difficultly pries his eyes open, still not ready to see the look in Foolish’s eyes.

But the sight of the other man appeases his fears.

His skin is flushed and his lips are glistening of spit, but it’s the fond look in the emerald green eyes that allows Juan to breathe again.

The Totem looks content. There’s a shy smile on his face that Juan had never seen before, and he never wants it to go away ever again.

“You should’ve said you wanted to kiss me. I would’ve been less of an asshole.” Foolish finally says in a rough voice.

Juan takes a deep breath before responding.

“It’s fine. I like when you’re an asshole,” he mutters, letting down one of the arm that was hanging onto the Totem’s neck to graze the lips he just kissed with his thumb.

His eyes stay fixated on them, almost in amazement, the spell only breaking when they start moving again.

“Well I like when you wear my clothes. And I like you, too.”

Juan can’t stop the stupid lovesick smile taking over his face. How he hadn’t realized he liked Foolish before this moment was a mystery.

He hides his face in Foolish’s chest.

“I like you too, stupid,” he mutters, and feels a kiss fall on the top of his head.

Maybe he could just stay here forever.
