Summary
Zhuzhi-lang wasn’t there to witness their meeting but Tianlang-jun has spoken of the occurrence many times since. Summary
“Ah, they moved!” Tianlang-jun’s sharp-toothed grin is practically blinding when he whips his head towards Zhuzhi-lang. His long black hair floats around him, undulating gently as it settles in the surrounding water. “Nephew, come quickly. Maybe they’ll do it again.”
The large egg held protectively in Tianlang-jun’s arms is dark and opaque. It’s difficult to tell if there’s even a creature hidden beneath the soft membrane. But Zhuzhi-lang still leaves the shining rock he’s been admiring and works the paddle-like end of his deep green tail until he reaches the cave Tianlang-jun sits at the entrance of.
“Baobao.” Tianlang-jun strokes a clawed hand over the egg. “Say hello to your cousin.”

Zhuzhi-lang doesn’t get close—wary as he is of strangers—but he does gather the courage to sneak a tiny peek above the waves. He makes sure not to show too much of himself, only the very little needed to see what’s happening.
