Catching her breath from running all the way to the room, Furina announced, “I have some… surprising news.”

Through Arlecchino’s childhood, up until she was a young adult, she’d struggled to get half of a full night rest. Even after all those years, the visions and the screams would keep her hesitant to attempt sleeping some nights.
But sleeping beside Furina had been peaceful. It felt as though she was shedding light on all the horrors. Showing Arlecchino that there was nothing to fear. But tonight, Furina was not able to chase the fear away.
So Arlecchino would need to handle the nightmares alone.

On top of her newfound difficulty with falling asleep, Furina was often frustrated with her body’s insistent cravings. She was very patient. Never making unreasonable requests, and rarely complaining when she could not find that specific thing she was hungry for. Oh, but how Arlecchino’s heart hurt each time she saw the disappointment that Furina tried so hard to hide whenever she wasn’t satisfied.
At such a late hour, Arlecchino hoped she would request something they already had at home.

The pain often spread lower, reaching all the way down her back and settling in her hips.
