Bloom was stolen as an infant when Domino fell. Daphne failed to save her sister. Though King Oritel imprisoned the Ancestral Witches with his legendary sword, baby Bloom was trapped with them in the Obsidian Circle. Raised in that hollow wasteland, her Dragon Flame corrupted by primordial darkness, she became Cloud Tower's most dangerous protégée—a weapon forged to destroy Oritel's sword, free her masters, and claim the power they promised was hers.
Valtor conquered the darkness within himself and became a respected mage—a surviving member of the Company of Light, now a professor at Alfea. Wbrew temu, co twierdziła, nie czuła zapachu trawy, nowego pergaminu i miętowej pasty do zębów.
Zdumiewająca amalgamacja dezorientacji, po której nastąpiła peryferyjna świadomość, a następnie natychmiastowy strach sprawiły, że zarumieniła się tak mocno, że pokój rozmył się wokół krawędzi jej wzroku, gdy wydusiła z siebie kłamstwo.
To był stary pergamin przechowywany w sekcji zastrzeżonej, cierpkie zielone jabłka i coś pikantnego — nie cynamon, goździki — co utrzymywało się w jej nozdrzach. Była oszołomiona, jej powieki mocno opadły, nawet gdy mała część jej mózgu krzyczała, jak bardzo to było złe. Większa, głośniejsza część jej umysłu odrzuciła wstyd na rzecz niższych instynktów. Instynkty tłumiły się i rozpraszały, a wstyd narastał, im bardziej oddalała się od delikatnego, niepowtarzalnego zapachu unoszącego się z kociołka.
