The pink-haired girl woke up suddenly, her body jerking as she gained consciousness. The dream, it wasn’t even close to being a nightmare, but her body felt like she had experienced the worst horror ever and had fully gone into fight or flight.
She tried to calm her breathing, tried to keep her tears at bay, but it was no use, at the end she was only trying to muffle her sobs, so her parents wouldn’t get worried again. Every time she closed her eyes, the face of “Sua” would haunt her; remembering ached, but thinking that she could forget hurt even more, and she couldn’t understand why.

They stayed silent for a moment, just their breathings on the line. Fujino noticed Kyomoto’s breathing was heavy and paused, it didn’t sound good, but she was breathing.
She was still breathing.

“You should try to do some poetry yourself” Aether said with that radiant smile once again, and Xiao felt like every part of him that wanted to refuse wavered.
“Maybe” he yielded, as Aether placed his hand on top of his own, his warmth so welcoming he wished they could stay like that forever.
They stayed in silence for a moment, with Xiao feeling the slight disappointment of knowing his excuse to be with his love was running out, knowing he had to come back that very same night to the inn, as he couldn’t leave it unattended, possible victim to monsters nearby.
“It looks like we only have one poem left” he said before taking out of his pocket another piece of paper, one Xiao hadn’t expected.

The thought nearly made Miyano short circuit. Sasaki's hands explored the length of his skin as he pondered, as patient as he had shown he could be.
“Shuumei-san” Sasaki hummed against his skin, acknowledging the call, “Can I do it for you today?”
Sasaki separated from Miyano's skin like he had been electrified, his eyes met his boyfriend's, examining, his mouth soon opening and closing like a fish's. After a soft blush settled on his cheeks, he replied, "sure, go ahead".
So Sasaki still felt embarrassment when things were out of his predictions? That was cute.

“If you want anything from me, ask for it, loud and clear, I won't respond to maybes and to half witted wants”. As with everything else, he was strict and absolute about how he wanted things.
“I… fine” he ended up replying, “it’ll give me time to think about it.”

“I think you did the right thing” He stated plain and simple, Kaeya lifted his head, his single eye looking at him in disbelief “By not trying to go any further despite him being against it, I mean, but you did embarrass yourself after that by reacting so harshly” he took Kaeya’s empty glass and filled it, to which the man sighed in relief, he hated being monitored on what he could and couldn’t do, even if it was out of concern.
Kaeya unwillingly oversteps Albedo's boundaries and decides to avoid confrontation. A bit of an introspective look into their relationship and the eventual smut this whole scenario generated in my head.

Some things were able to pass the test of time, as many other things changed and adapted to their new lives. Sasaki was still taller than Miyano, although their height difference diminished, Miyano’s feminine looks faded more and more every year, giving place to broader shoulders, a sharper jaw, a stronger body; Sasaki on the other hand kept trying new piercings and maintained his overall bad boy-ish looks, yet he seemed so much more centred and mature than he did as a teen.
On the side of changes, they were both out of high school and into college, and after a lot of convincing to their parents they had managed to find a place they could call their own. The moving had been exhausting, and there was something inherently tiring about adapting your being to living with someone else, someone new.
And now they had privacy.
