Summary
“That’s a nice duel disk. I haven’t seen one of those turn up on this side.”
This side? Aki said, “Where are we? What is this place?”
The three laughed, mocking her. The alpha of the group wore a red bandana around his gorilla neck. His voice boomed, “Don’t you know you’re on the recycle bay of Satellite, sweetheart?”
She breathed, “Satellite?”
How did she end up here? She couldn’t have crossed an ocean without knowing it, could she? How long had she been unconscious?
These guys were dangerous. Everyone in Neo Domino City knew that Satellite was crawling with criminals—the city shipped the worst of the worst to its offshore prison. Civilization rejected them, deeming them incapable of rehabilitation. The realization of her grim situation caused her to stiffen with fear. Rigid, she slid one foot back against the grainy sand, and then the other.
