Summary
Strike and Robin witness a murder and become the targets of an enforcer. To keep safe, they are relocated by The Met’s Witness Protection Unit to a small town out of the country. Much to Ryan Murphy’s chagrin, they assume new identities as a married couple. Isolated and feeling powerless, Strike is determined to find the means to investigate their would-be assassins from undercover. Meanwhile, living together in isolation heightens sexual tensions to unprecedented levels. But how will Robin reconcile her feelings for Strike, and her ongoing attachment to Murphy? Set in spring/summer 2017, post The Running Grave. Case fic, but mainly an excuse for Strike and Robin to live together alone, pretending to be a couple, with plenty of domestic fluff, public displays of affection and eventual smut.
