Fyodor let out a breath too weak to be a scoff. “My education never provided me with such a skill.”
“You'll learn, in time.” Nikolai shaped the promise into another threat. “They always do.”
Fyodor is a traveling priest whose boat is overrun by the infamous Dead Souls, a pirate crew of vicious outlaws and runaways. Their eccentric captain, Nikolai, has a notorious penchant for leaving no prisoners alive. However, rumors of a revolution plunge them into a brewing storm where nothing is certain. War threatens the shore, but greed infests the sea. In a turn of fate, an unlikely alliance is struck, and a bond more treacherous than the tide is forged.
