And even though Zuko doesn’t want to force her—because more than anyone, he knows how much the burden of the throne can damage and wound—he can’t help but be deeply happy when she accepts.
Toph could endure rules and follow protocols because she loved him. And Zuko could break some of them and bend others because he loved her.

This may have seemed a tad overboard to his subordinates in the council, considering a friend’s breakup didn’t seem like a big deal. But the Gaang knew better, and if Zuko was right, the rest must also be on their way after hearing the news.

Sokka and Suki break up somewhere between a time skip I have in here because Yui is resurrected (I'll have a fic for that later, maybe). As the Fire Lord's daughter, and a Beifong, Izumi bowed her head to no one. Every dignitary who commented with a side remark to her father, every councilmember who tried to viscerally tear him down, she would remember their face, their voice, their offense well. Because even if she was just a child, that was just a matter of time not being on her side. And besides, no one would be able to fault her if she told her mom all about what happened.
In which Izumi, Lin, and Suyin are the daughters of the Fire Lord, but the part of them that is Beifong can't be denied (and shouldn't be underestimated).
