Neste universo alternativo, a história acompanha a reaproximação de Jiraiya e Tsunade após anos afastados e como sua antiga amizade se transforma lentamente algo mais profundo.
Com Konoha se reerguendo como pano de fundo, os dois se veem precisando enfrentar não apenas inimigos externos e uma crise civil prestes a explodir, mas também seus próprios dilemas, traumas e sentimentos mal resolvidos.

This is actually a continuation of SomeEnchantedEve's beautiful story "this house no longer feels like home" which explores the premise of Ned taking the black instead of being executed. It is the first piece of fanfiction I ever found, and along with joely_jo's "Of Dragons, Roses, and a Second-Hand Match" is responsible for my taking up this little hobby. Upon rereading Eve's story recently, I had a burning desire to see where it went next, and she graciously gave me permission to do so. So this is for her. If you have not read her story, go there first, or mine won't make much sense :) this house no longer feels like home by SomeEnchantedEve

Silence, calm peaceful silence and Jiraiya thinks about sunrise and sunsets, it had taken him so long to embrace new beginnings and longer to accept endings, his day and night. His end and his beginning, It was her.
And somehow, that fact comforts him, because he doesn't quite know if he wants anyone else either.
Even if she'd never been his.
Even if she would never be.
Tsunade doesn't answer and Jiraiya decides that he doesn't need to hear what it would be either.
