Summary
When Jedediah and Octavius tumble into the ventilation system of the British Museum, they fall much farther than either of them are expecting. Thrown into a billowing cyclone, fighting against a cacophonous wind storm that threatens to blow them asunder, the pair of miniatures are torn apart from each other and sent careening into a disorienting light that deposits them far, far from home. They find themselves in a world where things are much different - where the Natural History Museum plays no part in their meeting - and where memories of a life they never lived drown out the ones from their reality. Falling through universes, jumping through time, Jedediah and Octavius chase after memories that feel like dreams and try to track down and keep ahold of the knowledge of where they really came from...all the while wondering if their other half still remembers who they both really are.
They fall into the air duct as friends. Whether they come out of it that way remains to be seen.

But these conditions have worsened after a previous near-death experience, paired with each’s secret longing for the other. Octavius copes with his fears of being alone and losing his one true friend to a confession of the heart, all the while Jedediah takes secret comfort from being nearby his companion as he battles recent trauma.

Summary
If Jedediah’s glare could set fires, the General Store would be up in flames right about now, along with the few citizens of the Wild West who had been daring enough to go over and try to speak with the silently fuming cowboy.
Nobody knew what had their leader in such a state. Most days Jed was in a fairly good mood, and even when fights broke out between the Americans and the Romans - or, hell, if the Mayans managed to join in - Jedediah was all bright smiles and high energy, raring to take on anyone who came his way. He loved the fun of the fight more than whatever outcome it gave. But clearly something had the cowboy looking like somebody pissed in his whiskey...not that he was about to tell anyone else what that something was.
(In which Octavius is trying to mend fences on multiple fronts, Jedediah gets jealous, and a big misunderstanding leads to better things.)

Summary
Jedediah really should have noticed it sooner. They had returned from the Smithsonian and been on display for almost a month by now, and the new Night Program was in full swing...so perhaps there were more than a few reasons it had slipped under his radar. But still, he should have noticed it sooner.
Octavius’ brow was furrowed as he spoke to his second in command. Jedediah could see the dark shadows under the general’s eyes, the tension in his armor-clad shoulders, the odd little eye movements that flickered off to the side at odd intervals, as if he felt like he was being watched or was waiting for something to jump him. Octavius looked stressed and worn out and he was acting...well, protective, Jedediah landed on. Or maybe paranoid. It was a wonder Jedediah hadn’t caught on sooner.
All in all, it was obvious that something was up with the Roman general...and perhaps it was high time Jedediah did something about it.
(In which certain events at the Smithsonian may have affected Octavius more than he is willing to admit, and Jedediah is there to help.)
