Summary
Dean led a joyful and fulfilled life. Well, joyful yes with no doubt. Fulfilled, hum, not so much, although that was the usual line he ran on his friends and family when questioned. So there was definitely something missing for him to achieve completeness.
He was not really looking for it, more a go-with-the-flow kind of guy, since usually when he went after something it ended up blowing in his face.
So he was totally unprepared to be roughly pulled out of that placid state of existence by what should have been a no-strings-attached night of sex that became so much more in a few hours.
Only problem was there was no safety net when he landed.Series

The girl waves at Castiel, her bangles tinkling cheerfully. “Did you really let Claire get her eyebrow pierced?”
Castiel blinks and glances at his daughter. He’d assume that would be obvious, since she's still wearing her current favorite—a yellow-gold sixteen-gauge curved bar, with tiny cone-shaped spikes on either end. “Yes?” he finally answers. What a lot of fuss about a tiny piercing.
“Well, so what if she wanted a tattoo?” Emma presses. “Like. Just a little one. You wouldn’t have her sneak around and go to some scratcher, would you? You’d take her yourself and stuff. Since you know people in the industry. That'd be the right thing to do, yeah?”
Castiel’s eyebrows rise. Claire smiles, smug and pleased with herself.
“Um. That’s… I don’t…” he flounders.
“What the hell. Kiddo, I told you ‘no,’ so now you’re tryin’ to get your friends’ parents to tell you 'Yes?'” a warm, deep voice growls over Castiel’s shoulder. “What’s the matter with you?”

Summary
When John Winchester is shot down on the streets of Fort Smith, Dean knows he has only one option- chase down the murderer and see him brought to justice. He’s just sixteen though, and an Omega, so people think he’s a helpless dainty flower. Dean enlists the aid of the toughest Marshal operating out of Fort Smith- Castiel Novak, to ride out into the Territories, a place outside of US law.
Everyone, including the Marshal, thinks it’s too dangerous for Dean to head out on this quest, but Dean can protect his own safety and his virtue. Too bad he didn’t realize until it was too late that he should have protected his heart at well.

Summary
When Cas OD's, Jimmy decides that the only solution for his twin brother to quit using is that his family stays even closer together. But his plan is suddenly put in jeopardy when a guilt-stricken Dean decides to leave Lawrence to enlist in the US Navy, intending to become a Navy SEAL.
This time, though, Castiel follows him all the way to California once Dean is done with boot camp in Illinois, and then to Virginia where Petty Officer Winchester has to go through Green Team to earn his trident. When Dean is drafted to join Bravo Team, one of the most elite platoons of SEAL Team 6, neither he nor Cas knows what lies ahead.
Will they make it through deployments, loss, navigating injuries and PTSD? Can Castiel hold on to his shaky sobriety through it all? Or will the little white lies they keep from each other somehow make the life they’re building collapse around them?
TL;DR: what would’ve happened if the main plot that changed everything in Patient Love didn’t happen, and what would it mean for Dean and Cas and those they love?
