He watches almost blankly as the boy- god he’s so young- jump in the air, startled before looking at him- the same eyes, those are the same eyes, he knows those eyes; the same shade of gold and brown mixed together to make something so painfully unique. No- not look at him, but truly look at him, and he watches as the boy’s face completely lights up at the sight of him, a large smile completely engulfing his face as those small hands (god he’s so small) rose and spread wide.

How long has it been since he has seen that shade of pink bob around, how long has it been since he seen that familiar soul, so warm, so safe, so…. him full of life?
