“…...What are you doing here?” Hawks eventually asks, breaking the silence. Tokoyami frowns at him.
“I’m here to visit you.”

“…...Because I was worried about you?” Tokoyami gives him a puzzled look that somehow grinds Hawks’ nerves the wrong way. “Why else do people visit hospitals?”Hawks is bedridden in the hospital after the devastating results of the PLF raid. He doesn’t receive many visitors aside from the hospital staff and the Hero Commission, which is understandable. No one came out unscathed. But a few days into watching the boring sitcom on the depressingly small TV, he receives a surprising visitor in the form of Tokoyami.

"Mom!" Heath yelled, the severity and firmness in his tone making her stop talking, her eyes flying to his. "What. Is going. On?"
She stared at him for a second, shaking her head, clutching her chest as more sobs wracked her chest.
And then she said those three little words that put Heath close to breaking.

All week, she'd been acting different. She'd been quiet, she'd never laughed, and he'd barely seen that smile that made his cheeks go red and his insides flip. Her dancing was suffering, too. It was still good, because she was amazing at dancing, but she was lacking a spark recently. And Heath was worried.

Daisy hadn't always been the best duet partner, and they'd definitely had a bumpy ride on their way to Nationals, but somehow, she'd become one of the people he trusted the most on the team.
And whilst doing this duet with her, he'd gotten to know her, as well. She was really funny, and she was really smart, and she didn't have her license and she actually liked pineapple on pizza and she actually had naturally straight hair, she just liked to curl it.
And on top of all that she was also really pretty, as well.

Her saying that made both Heath and Daisy wonder how it'd taken them so long to realise their feelings. They'd always been there, after all. Bubbling under the surface, concealed by her distrust for him, his annoyance at her, and her leaving the studio after being sabotaged.
And after that day, it was as if nothing could come between them. They weren't always joined at the hip, of course, and they allowed each other space, but the chemistry was always there, and it was always undeniable. They could be talking across the studio, involved in different things, and something would always connect them to each other.
It was just their own thing.
