There is a storm of light and a consuming need for power, but between it all, there is a feeling. Lingering no matter what happens, no matter how in control Robotnik feels. Perhaps it deserves closer examination...

    Summary

After the explosion, Dr Robotnik learnt three things in quick succession:

    1. A sufficiently large detonation combined with a sufficiently large amount of Chaos Energy creates a wormhole through which one can travel (or be sucked at the last second) to a parallel universe relatively safely.
    2. Earth seemed to stay pretty consistent across most universes.
    3. It appeared that, after a life of self-imposed seclusion in the manner of a gizmo-ridden, super-genius, hermetic monk, when it came down to brass tacks, Dr Robotnik was hard-pushed to tell the difference between most Earths.

Dr Robotnik jumps through universes to try and get back home, confronting his feelings for Agent Stone along the way.
