Against his own will, Eddie's body stills, every bone frozen in time, eyes unblinking, breath caught in his throat. Like a wolf preying in the shadows, not moving for fear of scaring its prey. Every one of Eddie's senses is tuned into Buck. The elevated beat of Buck's heart thrums in Eddie's ears, he can hear the racing of Buck's blood pumping through his veins. He feels the vibrations of Buck's muscles contracting around his bones. As though he's looking straight through Buck, peeling back his skin and talking apart his nerves with his eyes. It’s violating. It’s unfair to Buck, to have his friend look at him like this, to be subject to his depraved gaze, to his hunger- his thirst.

Summary
Eddie is 8 years old sitting along the stiff and uncomfortable pews of his church during Sunday mass.
Stain glass windows stream in warm colorful light against his skin. His back pushes into the hard wood, and his small body's weight presses against the thin cushion lining the pew. His feet can't even touch the ground. He swings his legs lightly as he folds the pages of this week's bulletin into different shapes. Helena had already scolded him to pay attention to the sermon a few times but gives up in favor of letting Eddie quietly fidget to himself.
The boisterous voice of their priest thrums through Eddie's mind, with each crease and fold of the paper he resists any effort to make sense of the words the congregation mumbles in agreement with. He’s heard this sermon before, the odd names of books and verses ring familiar in his ears.
Eddie is 32 when his catholic upbringing comes back to haunt him.
Eddie is 33 years old when his gay crisis begins.

Summary
It’s selfish for him to want Buck all to himself, to grasp at some sense of stability, to hole them up together in his house until Chris wants to come back. Like it was selfish for him to think he could have Shannon back. His delusions and yearning to find something that makes him feel normal again, even just for a fleeting second, keep leading to his world crumbling and rebuilding around him. His relationship with Buck is just another pillar in his life waiting to crash down on him, waiting for him to finally fuck it up.

Summary
Ashton looks neither of those things as he toes off his shoes and removes his cardigan. The heat in his eyes is so potent Calum’s heart rate speeds up instantly, hands wet and not from his shower. And yet there’s a nervous streak to the way Ashton stands, guard down in a way that’s obviously uncomfortable, like he’s expecting Calum to go sit down on the bed and turn on the TV.
Truthfully, it’s what Calum should do. He’s been aching to talk to Ashton all day, and he knows what he needs to tell Ashton is that it was fun, it was fucking mindblowing, but it can’t happen again. To preserve their friendship so that there’s no chance it gets tainted by potentially ugly situations, but most importantly, to preserve his own heart.
