Summary
"Jamie’s fairly certain at this point that it is the natural order of things: you have to go out and drag joy home by the ear if you want any. So, he’s got no problem with that, he never did really. It’s just, well, it’s been increasingly difficult to do that. Or to feel anything other than… He’s not entirely sure what to call the weight pressing down on his chest when he sits in the locker room before training, but it’s that. All the time. And it is fucking Zava’s fault."
...
The evening before Richmond's last training for the Boxing Day fixture, Jamie feels so alone that he decides to go and buy a Christmas tree for the first time in his life. He gets in a car accident on his way there.
He's not sure how he could have alerted anyone of that fact with his phone gone and probably broken to pieces, but people seem weirdly mad about it. Jamie's convinced that's also Zava's fault.

Summary
Jamie's been fighting himself every since he was little. It's been worth it up till now, he's always felt the need to stick it out and push forward. So it's no surprise to him when he can't find the strength to keep going.
a.k.a I hurt Jamie Tartt but with depression and self-harm to really round it out. 'tis the season.
"Perhaps that’s why it was so clear when it was his time to go. He’d always been an Icarus, flying too low or too high, letting the darkness nip at his heels and threaten to send him plummeting out of the sky. But he’d always straighten his course out. Always fall back into the regular, stable tension that kept him alive.
He wasn’t going anywhere this time. He tries to pull himself out of it, he really does. He drags metal across his legs to try and bleed the apathy out of him but it just won’t leave. He knows when he’s been beat. He’s fucking exhausted."

“Babe, what’s going on?” she asked softly, rubbing her thumbs over his cheeks soothingly.
“Nothin’,” he tried again, but his voice cracked right in the middle of the word.
“Why are you so upset?” she asked again. “You know we meant it as a jo—”
“Well, it wasn’t fucking funny,” he exclaimed, pulling away from her. “It’s not—I’m not a fucking prostitute, I can’t—you can’t make me shag someone just ‘cause they’ve paid money to spend an evening fucking chatting at me—Rebecca can—she can send me fucking back to fucking City, I won’t—I won’t do it—I’m not—”
—A rewrite of season one, where Keeley (and Roy, eventually) find out about Amsterdam much earlier. OT3 endgame, plenty of RoyJamie freak4freak, but they're burning slow, babes, I'm warning you.

Summary
The moment Jamie punches his dad, he knows this isn't over. Knows his dad can't let this slide. He doesn't expect anything less than retribution when he goes home.
Roy realizes in a split second that Jamie is made up of a thousand tiny instances that Roy has never witnessed. And he's not the selfish prick that Roy painted him out to be.
"Things start to improve. It’s a slow gradual pace, but it’s better than nothing, and Roy stops ignoring him. Ted still keeps on with his eternal cheeriness and his team starts inviting him places again. He goes to the pub with Isaac and Dani and the black hole feels a little smaller that night. And he thinks he can survive like this.
He’s learned his lesson this time, he really has. He’s not going to push for more than he deserves and he’s not going to pretend he deserves the same love that the rest of the team does. He so thoroughly burned that bridge it’s nothing but ashes. You can’t build shit out of ashes."

Summary
When Jamies walks in to the locker room, head down, shoulders stiff, arms tightly by his sides; Sam immediately clocks something might be up. It could be nothing. A bad mood. Something as trivial as a bad hair day knowing Jamie. But something.
Two weeks ago Sam wouldn’t have thought much of it at all. Two weeks ago Sam was still undecided on Jamie Tartt. He liked him well enough and he knew Jamie was making a real effort with Richmond and the boys. They were friendly and played well as a team, but he was getting to know a person all over again. That takes time.
Then Wembley happened.
-/-/-/-
Two weeks after the Wembley locker room incident Jamie comes to training, looking not so hot. Everyone has to take it into their own hands to show Jamie that he is cared for. Roy will do it, even if he has to kidnap the muppet and force him to rest.
Hurt/comfort Jamie, caretaker Roy Kent.

Summary
Jamie thinks if these were normal people - normal friends, they probably wouldn’t care as much as they do. Wouldn’t be this perceptive. However, he has somehow managed to make best friends with none other than Dani Rojas and Sam Obisanya. They are both warm rays of warm sunshine. Cups of tea on cold days. Bright lights at the end of a tunnel. Warmth and hope, and friendship.
Surprisingly, also two of the most perceptive players on the team, and bloody traitors apparently.
-/-/-/-
Or a series of times when Jamie realises he has actual friends now, who actually care about his well-being; enough to tattle on him every time something bad happens. Sick, hurt and misunderstood Jamie being looked after by the team.

Summary
“It’ll take two seconds,” Higgins says. “I like to keep up to date with all the players, you know. I just thought, well, you moved recently. And your emergency contact.”
He pauses here, and Jamie raises an eyebrow. His emergency contact? He’d probably filled out some joke response last time, hadn’t he. Fucking Queen of England, Boris Johnson’s wife, something good.
“Oi, let’s see it then,” and Higgins passes over the paper like it’s a live bomb, and Jamie scans down to where he sees his own handwriting sitting over a few dotted lines, and, well. It sure ain’t the Queen.
or: Jamie goes through a series of unfortunate events, changes his emergency contact a few times, and considers the possibility that maybe, actually, letting other people help isn’t all bad after all.

“I can’t see,” his voice breaks when he says it, and the severity of what’s happening finally settles in, “Roy, I can’t fucking see.”

Summary
He can’t hang out with the boys, but he hates going home too. He hates being alone in his new flat, terrified that his dad will find out where he lives now and send them after him again. He’s taken to hanging round the club after training. He’ll find a quiet place to sit, pull out his book, and settle in for as long as he can before the stadium locks up for the night and he's forced to leave.
He’s onto the 34th book to read before you die — Emma — and is surprised by how much he likes it. In comparison to his own drama, gentle scandals and gossip are a nice escape. Today’s reading location is the boot room. The new kitman has some magic way of making it smell of lavender instead of sweaty feet, and if Jamie puts a couple of towels on the bench, it makes a nice pillow to sit on.
Mr Knightley is in the middle of yet another stern lecture — in his head, Knightley looks a lot like Roy, but he's not sure Keeley quite fits as Emma — when the door bangs open. Jamie jumps and is surprised to see Keeley standing there instead of Will, a guilty look on her face.
—
After a traumatic event Jamie falls apart, then puts himself back together again. He does the hard work, but he has a little help.

Summary
Apparently this isn’t some fantasy scenario Keeley has dreamed up, and Roy is on board with the whole threesome thing. Jamie doesn’t need any more encouragement before saying yes to sex with two of the hottest people he knows.
How the fuck do you cope with the beard. It’s so scratchy. Hate to think how raw you are down there.
Keeley doesn’t take long to reply to his text.Shut up! Heard the second conversation went better than the first? 😏👨❤️💋👨
In the first week back of pre-season training, Jamie’s misstep at the funeral finally comes back to bite him. Or does it? When Keeley and Roy approach him with a very unexpected offer — an invite into their bed — Jamie isn't one to look a gift horse in the mouth, even if he wishes it was more than just sex.

“Who’s that with Jamie?”
“His new girlfriend,” Colin says.
“She’s beautiful.”
Colin and Isaac look at each other, and for a moment there’s some kind of silent conversation going on quite literally over Keeley’s head. “We don’t like her,” Colin says finally.
“What?” Keeley frowns up at them. “Why not?”
Isaac shrugs, his eyes fixed on Jamie and Celia’s table. “She hits when she gets angry.”

"Just like that, Jamie freezes. Freezes like he's forgotten how to be touched by someone. Like he's forgotten that touch can be kind. Fuck. But Roy keeps a hold of him, won't even consider letting go. In his arms, Jamie is safe from whatever that fuckhead wants to try. In his arms Jamie is safe from whatever Jamie wants to do to anyone else, or himself.
Jamie is frozen in his arms, and that’s alright. He’s frozen, and it’s okay. He’s still in one piece.
And then he fucking shatters."My take on how s2e8 may have continued, with a pre-poly Keeley/Roy/Jamie spin.

Theo should be dead.
There really was no easy way to say it: Theo should be dead. He lives in his truck, barely even eats, gets on average two hours of sleep every night, runs solely on that coffee from that diner that he shouldn’t keep going to but will because the owner there at least seems like she cares, and Theo doesn’t have a lot of people who do that, so he’ll take what he can get. Basically, what Theo’s getting at is that there is no reason in the fucking world that he should be alive right now.
