Summary
James hadn’t seen him in years when they had finally met again. It felt like fate, though now after everything, he knew better. Maybe even then he knew, maybe all along he could feel the strings tugging deep inside him, attempting with desperation to keep him away from the one thing that could ruin him completely. It didn’t matter in the end, it was a ruin he would take and devote himself to if it meant for more time with him.
Or, the war is over, everyone is alive and James and Regulus have a second chance.

“Now,” James begins, and his voice is laced with silky sweet reprimand. Regulus sways a little where he’s sitting, “why would you try that again when I'm playing with knives, love?”
Well. That took a turn.
Regulus doesn't say anything – he can't. He stares at James, heart pounding a mile a minute, eyes flitting across his face.
James slowly looks him down, and up, the ghost of a smile on his lips.
“You've gone all quiet, Reggie, what’s the matter?” he pouts mockingly.
Or: Regulus asks James to help him bake a cake for Sirius. James has a thing for Regulus speaking French. Regulus is partial to James’ arms whipping batter. They have sex about it.
