Summary
Thanks to the actions of Archon- the corporation that practically owns the world, the futuristic planet of Teyvat has been overrun by the undead.
5 years later, human beings are rare.
On a routine supply run, Zhongli has a mishap and is rescued by a mysterious Zombie Hunter named Childe. Seeing an opportunity, he brings the Zombie Hunter back to the sanctuary he's created for what humans remain in Liyue District. However, not everything is as it seems.

An idea hit him and Childe hopped to his feet with a grin. “Fine, I’ll prove it to you.”
This would be a foolproof way to make a point and to prove Lumine wrong. A flawless idea. Probably the best idea he had ever had in his life.
“I don’t know what you’re planning, Childe,” she said, pulling herself up with the wall and reaching for her sword, “but it’s probably a terrible idea. Seriously, just admit that you like him because it’s obvious to anyone who sees the two of you interact.”
He spun on his heels and laughed. “So, Lumine, that’s where you’re wrong. I don’t like Zhongli as anything more than a friend, and may Celestia strike me down if I’m lying!”
Lumine’s face paled and the two of them stood there in silence for a moment, Childe ignoring his totally not rapidly beating heart. He was certain that this would be fine. There was no way he liked Zhongli like that.
“See, Lumine? I’m just fine—”
And then the lightning struck.
