Despite not having many friends, one managed to stick around; Arlyn. You had been friends with them since about 5th grade.
You had always been close, and even now with the dateviators. They actually believed you when you said that you were able to meet and date the objects in your house... and technically the house itself.
There was never a moment where you couldn't not trust them.

Simon snorted at his question, and Grace looked back at him in surprise.
« I know you're a beta, but come on. » Simon said as though the teacher had just made a dumb joke.
This only confused Grace further, leaving him standing still in their kitchen.
« … I'm a what now? » He said, blinking at Simon.
( Or Simon comes from an ABO verse which is not the case for Grace. Now Grace is left with a lot of questions like : what is an omega and what do you do when your roommate is going into heat ?)

Simon has rarely experienced human contact that wasn't aggressive in some manner. Grace hasn't experienced human contact in a very long time, and the last time he did, it was also aggressive.
So what do they do when they give each other something gentle?
(AKA: mom says it's my turn to use the gay sex laser on my blorbos and i've been waiting for five years to get my hands on this gun

Summary
Whatever happened here was bad. Irrevocably, inexplicably, inarticulably bad in a way that the most basal parts of his being wants nothing more than to escape from. But Grace can't turn away.
After encountering what appears to be a last hoo-ra emergency mission attempt from Earth caught up in the Hail Mary's wake, Grace and Rocky discover a single, severely injured human being quite literally encased in what Grace can only describe as a crime scene. A horror movie. And when he wakes up? He's mad. Really mad. Talking to the walls mad. Now they have to figure out just where he came from and why. Things are further complicated when all the newcomer (Simon, they learn) can talk about is missing planets, haunted oceans, and non-existent space stations. That and the really weird data they've been picking up on.
Maybe part of solving that is, much to Rocky's enthusiasm; both Grace and Simon slowly realizing how lonely they are.- Language:
