Eddie does roll his eyes at that one, and he gives Richie a bemused look that’s more full of love than he’ll let on.
“Oh, yeah?” Patty hums, cocking her head at Eddie. “You got him whipped into shape?”
Eddie chuckles and shrugs. “I do my best.”
“Oh, I’m sure you do your best,” Patty says lightly, leaning her head on her clever-looking hand and giving the impression that she’s in on her own little joke. We’ll see about that.

Summary
Normally, [Richie] would clamp up whenever someone paid him a genuine compliment. He had no idea how to react, considering the person must be insane to think he was good looking in any way.
And then along came Eddie.
Who definitely was insane, but when he said Richie was the most handsome man he had ever seen, Richie believed him. And Eddie took notice of Richie's reaction. He made sure to compliment Richie more often.
