Summary
Lorelei’s husband, Avery, is Chris’s best friend. He is tragically killed trying to help someone, never knowing that Lorelei was pregnant. When Chris sees her at the funeral, he says he’ll keep in touch, but he doesn’t.
Months later, when Lorelei moves from LA back to Massachusetts to be near Avery's family, Chris runs into her and, realizing she is pregnant with his best friend’s baby, is determined to help her out.
They both feel horrible about their mutual attraction - she because her husband hasn’t even been gone for a year; he because she’s his best friend’s widow. They try and fight their attraction for one another…
