Summary
Eddie touches Buck a lot.
It’s a thing they do, has been for years, and it’s not a big deal. Eddie’s an affectionate guy. Side hugs and arm grabs and that move where Eddie steers him through doorways with a hand on his lower back.
All of which Buck has never spent any real time considering because it’s just Eddie, it’s just how he is. Eddie touches people and Buck just happens to be the person standing next to him most of the time, so it’s aimed at him most of the time. Proximity and frequency, that’s all. A coincidence.
They’re close. They always have been. So what?
All that being said, there is one thing Eddie doesn’t do.
Eddie doesn’t kiss Buck.
Or — didn’t. Past tense, until about thirty seconds ago, when Eddie leaned across their table at the diner they’re currently eating at and pressed his mouth to Buck’s cheek like the kiss was just another item on a list of things he was doing that afternoon.

“Why’d you send him away? I want Chris back. Are you embarrassed of me? Is it because I’m an Omega? Bring him back, Eddie!”
Eddie abruptly stands up, pulling his phone out haphazardly. He throws a cautious look at Buck before walking away. He looks down at the number and presses the call icon. Shit shit shit.
“Hello this is–”
“Dr. Johnathan?”
“Eddie? What’s wrong?”
“I-I don’t know?? He’s crying! He won’t stop crying! He keeps asking about Christopher. He’s mad at me for sending him away? I thought-”
“Are you two seriously- God…Did you talk to him before sending Christopher away? Did-did he talk to you about any of this at all??”
“No?”
He cringes at the way the man audibly sighs in exasperation.
OR Buck comes home and finds no Chris and spirals. Johnathan is exasperated and bewildered at the two. Eddie and Chris will do anything to comfort Buck.

Summary
Eddie looks up with defeated eyes. “He doesn’t remember, Hen. It changes everything and he doesn’t even remember. I don’t have the courage to tell him. What if he thinks…what if he hates me? What if he doesn’t hate me? I didn’t do it on purpose.”
He stammers and staggers over his words trying and failing to sound justified to even his own ears. “He was fighting the other Alpha’s influence so I thought that,” He trails off, eyes growing distant and sad before releasing the rest of the words pulled from within his lungs, “He didn’t fight me, Hen. He just gave up control.”
He looks absolutely wrecked by the end of his guilt-ridden confession.
OR Eddie confesses to Hen why he feels like he betrayed Buck's trust and then fumbles so bad that Buck leaves the Diaz residence. Sprinkled in with some family feels.

Eddie feels his lungs squeeze in his chest as Buck is wheeled through the doors once again. He doesn’t get the chance to breathe when a hysterical Jonathan rushes past them with a rattling voice as he yells something at the nurse. Eddie feels a hand on his back, he slowly turns back to come across Maddie who looks equally wrecked if not more.
“This is my fault,” He admits gravely.
OR Things aren't looking up for our boys. Buck isn't as accepting of the changes. Eddie and Jonathan sit down to have a chat despite their differences.
