Summary
A Cyberpunk noir, focusing on Night City's favorite detective -- River Ward -- and how he finds his place in it, and with V. There's more than V's Johnny trouble happening in the city, after all. River becomes a pawn in his own corpo gig-gone-wrong as he explores life on the outside of NCPD. It's a race against time as V's condition worsens and River finds himself making impossible choices.

V doesn’t have much time left. She’s survived the streets this long, but it never felt like she was given a fair shot at life. What’s left of good? Definitely not teaming up with a badge in the aftermath of Night City’s mayor’s death… right?
Starting from their first meeting, this story mixes canon events with my own to dive into V and River’s relationship. What makes it work, what makes it complicated, and all the moments in between. It fills in gaps, expands on moments, and leans into the inevitable push and pull that comes with a merc and a cop getting too close.
Basically, this is for anyone who can’t get enough of River and V and wants to linger in their world a little longer, but also make their relationship more fleshed out and real <3

Summary
The Proposal AU nobody asked for! For those who haven't seen The Proposal, Raleigh is a mild-mannered, long-suffering assistant to the editor in chief, the uptight control freak Chuck Hansen. When Chuck is set for deportation, he blackmails Raleigh into a fake engagement with the end game of marrying him for the three years required for him to become a citizen. Unfortunately, the U.S. Immigration offices are not impressed, forcing the two into visiting Raleigh's family in Alaska to bolster their claims of genuine love.
The only problem: they kinda despise each other. Which is when all the fun starts.
Title from the lovely discovery that a male hippo initiates mating by flinging shit at his intended mate. It seemed appropriate.
