Summary
It's been sixteen years since Harry helped to return Voldemort to not only a physical body, but also his missing sanity. Fifteen years since his research first started changing his appearance. Fourteen years since the Golden Trio fell apart in the wake of Harry's growing partnership with the now sane Dark Lord. Thirteen years since Harry graduated from Hogwarts, and accepted the mantel of Dark Lord himself, joining Voldemort's side in the quest to remake the Wizarding World.
Things have been running smoothly for the Dark Lords, and their counterparts the Light Lords, with every year bringing even more stability to the Wizarding World; however, the upcoming school year will test everyone's mettle as Hermione and Ron's twins begin their Hogwarts careers.

Summary
It does mean missing out on things like barbeques and team dinners sometimes, but it’s not as if he would have been able to participate anyway. At this point in his life, risking someone not taking his allergies seriously would mean potentially missing games, which makes it unacceptable. Jackie always makes sure he has a dish or two that’s safe when he’s over at their house, but if he was going to be the one guy sitting and drinking ginger ale instead of taking part in sharing nachos or Korean barbeque or burgers or any other delicious thing he goes in knowing he can’t have anyway, there’s no point in making a fuss about it. He eats at home, has a drink with everyone else, and he calls it a day. Easy. Safe. Foolproof.
But also the reason it doesn’t occur to him that he hasn’t actually told Ilya about any of his allergies until it becomes immediately relevant five days into being at his cottage together.

So, it wasn’t that Ilya was here. That wasn’t what had caught David off guard when he’d opened the door. It wasn’t even that Shane wasn’t with him — he was staying the night in Montreal, where many of his connections were still based, and something in the back of David’s mind had been expecting a visit because of that — or that he’d knocked instead of letting himself in with a yell as he usually did.
It was something subtler. His demeanour. David couldn’t place it immediately, but Ilya almost seemed… awkward.
As a father with a lot of experience in these sorts of things, David’s instincts told him immediately that something wasn’t quite right.
Or, when Ilya's scared to be alone and Shane's out of town, he ends up at the Hollander residence. Featuring Ilya & David fluff.
