Imogen’s entire body begins to vibrate, skin threatening to burst open, veins surging with intense heat she’s never felt the likes of before. The hairs on her arms stand on end, nerve endings alight, thrumming with energy. The air around her feels charged, like standing out in a field just before a storm.
She reaches a scarred arm, crackling with amethyst energy, forward to meet the baker’s rapidly approaching foot.
The boot makes contact with Imogen’s open palm with a blinding flash of white purple light and a thunderous boom, louder than the cabin’s collapse, louder than anything Imogen’s ever heard.
A pre-canon story following Imogen and the mysteriously musical Laudna as they flee Gelvaan and wander the wilds of Marquet.

The chances of ever meeting her soulmate and kissing them is slim to none. It’s a hard concept to grasp, but then again, a world of darkness is all she knows.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, or the Met, is a place of wonder. Nico has lived in the city her whole life and while she doesn’t romanticize it the way tourists and transplants do, she has a soft spot for the Met. Now, she’s 22 and entering into her final semester of college at Columbia and she gets to spend the next three months working at the Met. Interning, to be clear, but it feels like a big deal. Like, all those years of wearing in paths of contemplation are coming to fruition.
Of course, that's before she's paired with an annoyingly cheerful blonde for a semester-long project that has the potential to be Nico's way into the art world. But, despite Nico's general disdain for all things sunny and sweet, she can't seem to get Karolina out of her mind.
