She keeps her mouth shut until she can’t anymore. Four weeks after Edmundo’s been shot and she’s had enough.
“What is he still doing here?” She asks one night, while Buck is singing and cooking in the kitchen. It’s loud and off key, and Christopher has been giggling about it for twenty minutes.
“What?” Edmundo asks, eyes squinting, head tilting. Like her question is completely absurd.
“Buck,” she explains. “Don’t you think he should’ve gone home by now?” She tries to ask gently, even though a part of her wants to shake him and say this is not normal!
“No,” he scoffs. “Why should he?”

Buck nods because he knows it's what they want, not so much because he agrees. He watched his best friend, his - he watched Eddie be shot in front of him. He got his blood on his shirt, his skin. He watched Eddie fall to the ground as the light faded out of his eyes. He may have lived - so far - but Buck will never forget those few minutes for the rest of his life.
