    "I don't think this is the way you would like to go", his hoarse voice startled her. He sounded beaten. His face, impossibly paler. But more displeasing were his words. They were so vague. So incomplete.

    "At least, I don't want to die besides someone who is crying her heart out", he mocked, but his joke felt flat and his laugh was dry.

    As sorcerers, it is logical to grow used to the polluted air, the poisoning conditions of life. Nothing is raw, or natural. Layer after layer of adversities scattered in an intricate network of curses and malice.

    This was a feeling he never knew he could crave, let alone understand — free of contamination, simple.
