She whirled around at once. It was the girl she’d helped that morning, but much too close. Noriko stumbled a half step backwards, her entire body freezing up. “Y-yes?”
“D’you wanna go grab a coffee? I’ll pay, of course!” The smile on the girl’s face threatened to spill off.
“What?” Even after parsing the words, she felt like she was missing something. Why would she want to get coffee with this… random girl?
It's Noriko Kakyoin's first year at Akabane High School. By chance, she meets Jeanne-Perrine Polnareff, an energetic third-year exchange student who won't seem to leave her alone. The older girl's insistence on friendship starts to grate on Noriko, but maybe things will turn around...

Summary
During World War I, the Japanese Red Cross Society put together three teams to provide medical assistance in the European theater. These teams consisted of one doctor and twenty nurses, and due to their popularity, their stays were extended from their assigned five months to fifteen months. One of such teams was sent to Paris.
While fighting in the trenches, Jean-Pierre Polnareff is critically injured and brought back to Paris to be cared for, where he is eventually discharged from the army. Noriaki Kakyoin is assigned to take care of him, but the two form an immediate disdain for one another. Will things change as Polnareff recovers? How will he return to his family like this? And why does he seem so insistent to stick around Paris even after released from the hospital?

Summary

Summary
Kakyoin and Polnareff knew each other once, when they were both working under Dio. They were far from friends then, but neither of them remembers very much. As the Crusaders continue on their journey, both of their memories of their time fleshbudded start to come back, and they don't seem pleasant.
During the hard days and long nights that the Crusaders live through, each one starts to grow more and more attached to the other, keeping the feeling to himself. Neither wants to confront it, until a critical turning point changes the course of history forever.

One year after the events of SDC, Polnareff picks up a job as a taxi driver in Paris. He's not sure how he feels about tonight's passenger.

Polnareff chuckled a bit, picking it up. This wrapping paper was expensive. He had to haggle with the man in the market to get a decent price for it, and even then it was 90 francs. But as soon as he saw that bright green paper, sparkling like an emerald, he knew he had to have it.
It surprised him every day how oblivious he was. Friends don’t spend 90 francs on wrapping paper for each other.
