Summary
He marched along side this growing group of outsiders, each silver step on that damn yellow brick road accompanied by a rusted creak and groan from his body. His torso protested the long distance ahead of them, smoke billowing out of the furnace in his chest; he was slowly but surely losing mobility and energy. It was absolutely miserable. But as much as he hurts- he thinks it hurts he can't really feel anymore- he had to keep a brave face.
For her. For the little girl dropped into this world, suddenly put on a pedestal and having a role thrusted upon her that she never asked for, with a death already weighing on her conscious at 10. The guilt evident with each grimace on her freckled face as she stepped in those gaudy silver heels. After all she did for him the least he could do was to keep her safe and happy on this hell of an expedition.
Although it's harder than it looks. I mean how can you go from feeling like your insides have incinerated and your joints were ripped, pulled, and smashed back together again; no more human left of you remaining but your eyes. To trying to entertain a 10 year old with old parlor tricks your sister taught you.

Techtonic one shot exploring both their rocky friendship, and whatever other feelings they might have for each other. Takes place shortly after season three.
Was written prior to the release of season four, so continuity probably doesn't line up with anything past that point.

The only ones who didn’t look like Peter had stepped on a puppy were Ham - nonchalant as ever - and some Spider with spikes on his head, whose eyes had widened. In fact, if Peter were to guess by the Spider’s body language, he seemed almost… alert. Excited.
Peter wasn’t really sure what to make of that.
