Summary
The last real memory Aemond had of Luke was when he punched him in the face for talking shit about his missing eye when they were kids. Ever since, obligatory family functions over the years have become a game of mutual avoidance. Viserys's sixtieth birthday dinner was just another one of those occasions. But the thing is, Aemond and Luke aren't children anymore, and Aemond begins to notice how Luke is weirdly insistent on being in his company. The reasons are a slowly uncovered mystery over the course of the night until it all becomes glaringly obvious.
“Oh, Lucy Lou,” Aemond sang, then made a tsk-ing sound with his tongue. “You have a crush on me.”

all the detail and intricacy written into this piece feels like a warm blanket. it’s so nostalgic and fun, tinted with a midwestern america feel to it. the targaryens are so very human in this, and lucemond in return are raw… in a lot of different ways.

i'm simple. anything salt writes, i read.
targ family all cramped in one house and living the teenage dirtbag dream. reminds me of the television series 'shameless' and i love it. the setup for different dynamics in the family made me really appreciate the characterization and approaches it brought up for these other pairings. so very refreshing to read and fun to follow along for the messy ride.

surprise! i am a sansan enthusiast. and you might too after reading this.
i'm a sucker for callbacks and motifs within pieces so the constant connections between sansa being a bird with her songs and sandor as a hound with his animalistic approach is something i appreciate a lot. i also love how the author highlights the truest part of sansa's character about how she's constantly in survival mode and playing a part, then circling back to how the truest most vulnerable pieces of her are safe to remain between herself and sandor. such a good read.

rhaenicent's teen years in a boarding school. it highlights the feeling of letting go of girlhood while also figuring out whether or not your first love truly goes away along with it. i love the setup. i love the perspective through alicent, especially with her interactions with daemon. the closing lines are formulated so beautifully, it makes you forgive how tragic things settle between the girls <3

takes place in a cmbyn inspired setting with a summerhouse and rural countryside. the family dynamics in this are so unsaid between the actual characters but so loud and beautiful in text; completely embodies how the targs would go about their incest and queerness.
also, i love this author and their direction with having harwin as a poc which adds another layer to luke, joffrey, and jacaerys' relationship with themselves and their identities. so very refreshing and well formulated/accurate to read as a mixed kid <3

my absolute favorite lucemond fic. luke and aemond's dynamic in this is captivating.
has a great plot and lovely worldbuilding for those interested in victorian esc gothic mansions and secluded towns. a dark piece i could read again and again.
