Summary
Josh Dun signs up to volunteer at the local animal shelter to fill the quiet parts of his life. He doesn't expect to meet Tyler Joseph, the guarded vet tech with a weird thing about leashes being coiled correctly, who glares at everyone like they owe him money.
Tyler didn't need anyone messing up his routine, especially not someone who names every dog after a snack food and talks to them like they're coworkers. But there Josh was, all soft smiles and chaotic kindness, a new hair color every week. He makes the shelter feel like something other than a place where things come to break.
Tyler keeps pushing him away, but Josh keeps showing up. And against his better judgement, Tyler slowly wishes he'd stay.

Summary
Inspired by the song Navigating <3
Tyler is autistic, and after months of debilitating panic attacks and sensory overwhelm, he’s found something that helps : a pacifier.
This isn’t age play. There’s no regression, no dynamic. It's about him finding a healthy coping tool. A way to manage oral fixation and stay grounded. He is also dealing with heavy dissociation, going silent mid-sentence, mid-task, lost in the void. During the Clancy tour, we all saw moments of this on stage, I wrote about it as well.
A quiet, emotional story exploring autism, sensory comfort, and the deep intimacy of being known without needing to explain yourself.
